You can never know someone’s intention even some of the Muslim candidates (who could be support by labour) and it can also lead to him to win the elections especially if he is liked by English voters. There is always a risk but good intentions are key…

  • @shahzanrahman8476

I would advise all Muslims who will be voting in the election and standing as candidates, or considering standing, to read up on ayaat of the Qur'an and ahadeeth pertaining to niya' (intention), and nifaq (hypocrisy) to help guide their decisions and do the right thing, that is most pleasing to Allah, and to do istikhara where necessary if one is still conflicted. The Qur'an and the Sunnah are eternal guidance for the Muslim, and they should always seek guidance therein. The fitnah (trial/tribulation) in Gaza is also a test for us right here in the UK, and we do not want to fail that test and be found lacking, exhibiting traits of nifaaq, or Allah forbid become outright munafiqoon.

Yes, because of Gaza, we want the Labour abandonment to accelerate, but fifty years of loyalty will not wither away in a matter of few months. I don't think the snap election didn't help either giving us less time to campaign against Labour. Our target should be to bring the support down to 20% or less by the next election in 2029. We’re complicit in the war crimes taking place by arming the IDF but there’s an important distinction to be made. Btw I’m not saying that it’s wrong to be a single issue voter. Some issues are simply too big to get wrong.
For me, I’m just not a single issue voter. One of my biggest issues is the climate crisis. However while the Green Party have a solid strategy to deal with it, I find their anti-nuclear policy naive in the age that we live in. I also care about domestic policy because I live here and that will directly affect me and my loved ones. Foreign policy is a big issue too. But where I live, I’ll have to vote tactically so I’m not truly able to vote for the party of my beliefs, whatever that ends up being.

I’m not usually a single-issue voter and my biggest issue is probably the climate change crisis. I like Labour policies on education and the NHS - especially because those will directly affect me and my loved ones however their lukewarm stance on Palestine is a concern. As for Keith Mason, is this a new precedent will you be calling for candidates from other parties who have been deselected, for Islamaphobic behaviour to be re-instated? If the answer is no then why not? Why this guy and not the others?. If the answer is yes, then you would be giving free licence to all political representatives to say what they want against Islam and muslims and our beloved Prophet. There needed to be a clear demarcation line as to what will disqualify you from getting the vote of our community. , the honour of our Prophet should be an inviolable redline...,Unfortunately you have made a Horlicks of this situation, and the best thing you could have done is not get involved. Sure you could have done Dawah by other means, and spoken to the guy in private, corrected his ignorance clarified his misunderstanding you could have given him books on Islam by the likes of the late Idris Tawfiq a former Catholic priest, or those by the late Dr Jerald Dirks a former Christian Minister and graduate of the seminary at Harvard Divinity School, and Muslim revert.....But it was wholly un-necessary to call for him to be re-instated.

The owner of the house is one of the people who does not have mercy, by God, my brother. By God, to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, they closed the door and expelled them and came back crying. They are dying of hunger. No one has mercy on them and a holiday is returned. I have made a living, and now if one of us helps us with a kilo of flour, I swear to God, I am dying of hunger. My brother, I am an alien to God.
