Me too. I kept asking my spirit Guides to show up through my third eye and lately I’ve seen very clear image sections of a owl. I didn’t even know spirit guides can be animals 🤣🤦🏻♀️ I’ve been heart broken many many times, but I think I’ve learned my lesson from that. Are they helping us from day one to day zero or are they just here a certain time? 🤔
That's a good question, Dein! Totems are there from Day 1, but we may not become aware of them until later in life, when we are in the correct place to benefit from their wisdom (Totems are linked to our personality characteristics and the challenges we face in our present incarnations. They are permanent parts of our journey, though they will be more or less present depending on what we are working on at the time). Spirit guides show up to help with specific circumstances, and once we "get" the message and apply it appropriately, we tend not to see them again, or at least not until they are again needed! Owl is not one of my totems, but I got a good whack upside the head from Great Horned Owl regarding a personal issue last week! lol! Hope that answers your question :)

To the younger owl people as an owl person. Take your time like Jordana says when identifying a trait or pattern in someone. I have had two immature owl people in my life who have used their believed insight on me as a way to leverage their position in the given community we were in. Their believed insight gave them some excitement and ego inflation with what they thought they saw but it was only a small piece of the puzzle. I am a biohacker and psychonaut. Some of my practices throw my system off for a week or so and these people leveraged my system when it was in disarray as a point of power.
Edit: I'd like to add that them doing this wasn't completely malicious but I see it more as the immaturity that can come up here. Though some malice and using knowledge to put oneself in a place of authority was definitely done.

I found a Great Horned Owl feather today as I was playing my Native hand drum!!! It was sitting close to the rock I visit frequently to play. It was as if it was placed there as a gift. I have never found an owl feather before that I'm aware of, though, I have had maaaaany owl experiences. I am very intuitive. Wow, I am wearing it now on my head like a Native. I am very intuitive and a healer and so I know this is a very powerful event; to 'find' this owl feather......I wish I could post a photo of it here!!! I can feel the energy surging from it. Incredible. Amazing. So grateful and honored beyond human belief.
The 'Horned' is the one that many tend to pull back from... however, this is the KING. It is the ONLY fowl that can do battle with the other KING. That of the Eagle and have any hope of coming out of the fight. It's talons are like that of the cougar. Silent is it's flight and swift will it come out of nowhere without warning. Not even the wolves will howl before it for it flies with them. The Apex Alpha. It is the 'master of the night' as the eagle is to the day. The balance... and it is the Wisdom sister to Knowledge. The one that walks hand in hand and yet can flip the sword if need be. It's energy is high because it is the KING and the QUEEN. Blessings and A'ho !

Barn Owl/ Golden Eagle.
I watched this at your suggestion, today. It does hit home. People have frequently said they find me intimidating, and I wish that they saw how much I care and want to help connect to the wonder around them. You’re totally right- ultimately the owl road is about being the eyes and ears for those who desperately need healing. In your Golden Eagle video you talk about how the nest is where the danger is. In this video you talk about complicated relationships with those we love. Sometimes the family member in question is toxic to us... and no amount of love can fix that. I’m still learning to be okay with the choices I had to make and it’s been years. It is hard to be patient in finding that peace, but absolutely necessary. As I close out this comment, I’d like to share the wisdom I was given in the hope that it helps others: “You cannot heal another until you know what it is to be wounded” and “An Eagle does not live in a chicken coup- find the courage to fly”. I just saw a beautiful owl my mom freaked out and I jumped of happiness because it's was the first time I seen one I felt something nice from him and he kept staring at me for a long while too 😊
I'm owl person....I found my totem by clairaudiently hearing owl that no one else could hear but me. Phantom hoots if you will...lol! Also became aware that they were all around me, like my daughter was in the "owl class", I painted one for her room, my in laws and I would joke about them, and then there was a ceramic one in my garden. Then a few years later I awakened to the fact that this was my spirit animal/totem....But I definitely have abilities to see others dark and when they're concealing something. I also can see when they revert attention away from themselves and onto others by deflecting...but I have a tendency to call this out almost subconsciously!
Jordana, thank you for this video. I first had the privilege of caring for Barn Owls as a wild bird rehabilitator while living in Hawai'i. It was a life changing experience. What you are sharing is spot on (for owls and me, as an owl person). Last year, calling on Owl energy, I took the plunge and became a professional counselor, working with people who have experienced trauma.

It's scary how accurate this is. It explains my love for physics and the study of behavioral traits in people. My mind is very scientific and I am often misunderstood by most people. However, I tend to have a lot people that gravitate towards me, because they are intrigued by my unique insights and my ability to read people's personality traits. I'm usually spot on.

The white owl.
This is very insightful, thank you. I have to say I use my "intuition" maliciously at times and I've slowly realized this is simply a defense mechanism I use to protect my ego. Fear of inadequacy and intimacy are the main reasons I have a fragile ego. This is why I watch others--to spot out what makes them tick so I know which buttons to press. It makes me nauseous to think about. I can be very egocentric. Yet, I must constantly remind myself to be mindful, accept myself, and use my positive attributes to improve interpersonal relationships instead of avoiding them. I am definitely an owl but am not yet wise. Thanks again for posting.

Its funny, my bf is an owl person. When I first met him, I was tempted to run away from him because of his ability to pick up on things I was hesitant to talk about/reveal. But then I quickly realized thats what I really loved about him. I can't, and don't have to hide with him. I feel so free around him because I have no fear of him finding out some deep dark secret. He knows my secrets and all the "darkness" of me but he stays anyway and its a wonderful feeling to be accepted that deeply.

I believe this describes me to the T, I had to experience a lot in the most recent years, and I had to let go of a ton of people I care about. I still am connected to them,but not physically. I perfer being alone because my family, even thou it's just me and my mom,there is a lot of emotion. so I shut myself in my room. I constantly need stimulus, and I even can't sleep because of it. I feel I can help people just by listening, and sometimes I feel I fail them when my advice dosent click with them. I had to talk to a friend cause she was cutting herself, and whenever I gave her advice she yelled at me. Now I am proud that I helped her, because she niw understands what I did for her,and what great meaning it has to listen. I am also very creative, even thou my work isn't original, I mainly do fanart and fanfiction, I try to progect powerful emotion. I wanted to thank you....yhus brought me to tears and I feel enlightened. Have a great day

For myself personally I feel I need to have more deeper influences in order to develop. It also gets lonely being such a deep thinker without having others to be able to relate to. just a thought.

La Lechuza (white barn owl) .. I first seen it in the middle of the night walking thru a dark alley way on the way to my friends house. I heard it first then while looking up I seen it flying over my head and then off into the distance it disappeared. At that very moment I don't why but it sent fear straight into my heart I ran home .. it was so white in the dark. A couple days later my grandmother passed away in Mexico .. I didn't know then but I know now that it was there to send me a message and not harm me ..
3 years later .. I'm in Mexico City (Aztec Capital) ..
And I'm talking to older wise woman who studies the Aztec ways her whole life .. let's just say she has special powers .. she told me something special without knowing anything about me and told me La Lechuza takes care of me and Is my protector .. I understand now .. I love you Lechuza ...
And this is different than my birth animal under my Aztec calendar.. I'm something else other than a Lechuza ...
I've seen owls on clothing, random art, jewelry & all kinds of things my entire life. Everything you described in this video resonates sooo deeply! I've lost so many friends, families and even jobs throughout my life & I've never really fit in. People always seem to be a bit weary of me because most feel it's "intense" when I look at them (at least that's what I have been told, that I have very deep/intense eyes). I'd always wanted the lion to be my totum animal because I feel I lack courage & I want to be so strong & brave. It's funny that whenever I'm looking back on my past I see I was already courageous but in the moment it always seems like I could do better. The more I've studied about animal guides the less relatable I feel to the lion and more so now to cats & owls... I'm definitely still learning but the universe doesn't seem to allow me to wait and mature. Honestly it feels like people and things are taken away from me because if I'm left to deal with it on my own I'll just keep it and try to learn everything I can before I allow myself to take any action. idk, I guess I'm just ranting but I mainly wanted to say thank you for this video because I feel like I can understand myself a bit better now.😊😊 you're amazing, thank you for all you do

Rabbitromance That's a good question, Rabbit! The truth is, there is no hard and fast answer for that one. The Native American perspective is that we each have 9 totems...one for each direction on the medicine wheel. For this reason, most shamans will tell you that you have 9. However, I've worked with clients who have more than 9, and with those who have fewer (That being said, just because a totem isn't present in their energy at the time at which I work with them does not mean that it will not be later. Too, I believe that some of us never quite advance far enough in our spiritual journey during certain lifetimes to work with every one of our totems, just as certain people don't learn all the lessons their astrological charts dictate they should during that particular incarnation). I always suggest that clients not concern themselves with how many totems they have, or whether or not they think they have the "right" or "wrong" number. Whatever totem is there and is demanding the most attention at the time, that is where their focus should be. If they are intended to work with others as well, they will know. Hope that helps! Wow. Just wow. This explains me absolutely to a T. I have been struggling with whether or not I should pursue this person in my life or let them go. I asked for guidance before I went to sleep the other night. I dreamt of an owl. At first I thought "Wow look at the owl! He's so beautiful!" and then someone next to me said "No, look at it. It's not what you think it is." and then the owl started flapping his wings haphazardly and then flew away. The next day, in reality (not in the dream world) I went for a bike ride and found 3 owl feathers, all in different places. I'm currently taking classes right now with a spiritual teacher and she told me to look up the characteristic of owls. I came across this video and I just have to say thank you so much for you thorough description of "owl people" because this makes me feel a whole lot better about myself and like I have a much greater understanding of myself and why I do things the way I do and that IT IS OKAY. Thank you thank you thank you. I also took the dream and finding the feathers as a sign that perhaps I should let go.

Today has been a very productive day for me in a very spiritual sense. I am an Arien in Aquarius moon and have been running into a lot of owls within the last 5 years and in return developed a great affinity for them and never understood why. I am an Owl person. In my tree stand as it was getting later the tree all of a sudden started to shake. I got kinda scared, so I looked up and I saw a big owl on the very top of the tree looking down at me. I then felt safe for some reason. No explanation I just felt safe out of no where and I calmed down pretty quickly . He was just chilling up there every now and then looking down at me. He right before dark took off, and went on his way. I've seen a lot of owls while hunting, but that experience will always be something I remember.

got a tattoo a year ago for my step dad who passed away of an owl because the owl in ancient egyptian owl represents soul, mourning, and death and it just so happens that i learned the owl is my animal as well.... crazy universe so what turned into me paying respect ended up being who i am.
My head has always been full of so many abstract concepts and psycho garbage that I admit I considered myself crazy. I seem to intimidate people and have been very intuitive and emphatic. Driving in to work recently I looked away from the road and saw a huge great horned owl on top of a light post.Recently, I dreamed of petting that same owl. Then voila, very first comment (yours), there it is. I've long known that the owl is one of my main totems, and have had many amazing encounters with them. Wow, I've never heard any spiritual category more accurately describing my life. It blows my mind that an animal can be so precisely me. I'm struggling a lot with the social aspect of it - especially with the question of whether or not to leave people behind. I'm always tending to think that it's me not being able to commit or interpreting things wrong - because I don't know anyone who sees people in the way I do.
You are most definitely not alone here, husastra; Owl People (and actually, Bird of Prey People in general) have to walk a pretty narrow road between "I see so many of the things people are trying to hide, and I see when they are in denial, and I see how they could be so much happier" . . . and knowing when to speak these things, and when not to. It is definitely not easy! When it comes to leaving people behind, I have found that the more we give ourselves permission to BE ourselves, the more we attract people into our life who are just naturally on our same wavelength; one of my dear friends, who is an Owl Person, showed up in my life when I finally learned how to be MYSELF rather than trying to be someone else to please others. And interestingly, those people in my life who expected me to continue acting like the old me just sort of fell away. I am actually in the process of writing a second edition of my book on Owl as a totem ("Animal Totems and Spirit Guides: The Wisdom of Owl", which should be available for purchase on Amazon some time next month), if you feel that you would like more information. It will be considerably more in-depth than the book's current incarnation, and considerably more so than what is discussed in the video. Siberian eagle owl is my favorite. And everything you said was really true and suprisingly relate to my life. Also the Siberian Eagle Owl means to me that it soars over all owls and comes out on top like an Alpha. I also began to accept the Owl as my Totem

I am very impressed with what you had to say about Owl People. This fit my personality to a 'T'. I am half American Indian. A quarter French Caribbean and a quarter European Irish. A ture Creole. To say the least I grow up in a loving but very superstitious home. When I was much much young a Great White Owl stopped in mid-air and made direct eye contact with me. I felt, even way before this, somehow akin to Owls. But, when I did my totem dance a female Mountain Lion presented itself as a guide in a vivid dream the nite before. This will perhaps sound too vague, but I do not believe any sort of system or particular path exists to train people to "See" what animal totems are linked to a particular person. In my own case, it was something that just happened without my intention, and developing the skill has involved nothing more than learning to f trust what I FEEL or what I SEE more and more, rather than second-guessing myself or telling myself that that animal CAN'T be associated with that person, because it doesn't make sense, or seems wrong for them. This also means an absolute, inviolable commitment to telling people what I really SEE, rather than what I think I WANT to see, or what I think THEY want me to see. Essentially, to See clearly, we have to get our egos (the voice of fear or need inside of us) out of the way. So if you are already aware of an ability to work with animal energies in some way (and it seems that you are!), the path forward really just involves learning to trust yourself. Owl second-guesses itself like crazy, so a huge part of this will involve taking a leap that your first instinct really WAS correct, rather than over-analyzing . I hope that helps. It may please you to know that Mountain Lion is often a message that it is really time for us to step into our own power...to honor our ability to do something well, with courage and with authority (Mountain Lion showed up in a vivid dream for me as well, not long after I became aware of animal energies. Nailed it. As an owlette, I did quite a bit of damage by being very brutally honest with what I see. My intentions were rarely malicious. I usually hoped to help. Unfortunately I didn't know that was damaging to people sometimes. In my silly youth, I really thought everyone wanted to "see in the darkness". Now that I am in my mid 30s, I have started FINALLY learning to not do this unless asked... phew... hard and heartbreaking lesson through my teens and twenties. I have a baby owl in my backyard for the last 3 days. I have watched it and its gorgeous but curious on why it doesn't leave. It's so cute it runs all over the backyard and there is a rabbit also and it just ignore it. I am up all night and now the owl has become my companion.
Ever since i was young owls have always been my favourite animal, and now that i am older i realise that this might be because they are my totem animal? Lots of people always remembered this one detail about me and brought me gifts that were to do with the owl :) Thank you for the insightful video!

Very restless, I gotta be moving. When I was younger I used to rock alot while listening to music. Now I go on long drives, or long walks, to kill the time. I don’t like sitting still at home. Always gotta be moving, because my mind is always moving. It’s like the movement catches with my mind lol also, I like to read while walking. I can focus better on the content.

Couple years ago a friend gave me an Owl Garden Statue. Since then I have been attracted to the owl and find them showing up all the time. For example. Earlier this week the dog woke me at 3:30am and we went outside & heard sounds coming from across the street that I thought were a small mammal. Then a large horned owl flew over our heads very high, the moonlight on it - looking silvery on the underside. First time I've seen a large owl in flight. The next day we stopped at the town burn pile for wood chips and there was a basket with an owl symbol on it. and on and on. Owl really does sound like me. Wow. Do perfect. Thanks for this video. :)

When my daughter was about 7 years old she had a large white barn owl that would escort her to school as I drove the car. It was far up in the sky by lead us turn by turn to her school while staying about a block ahead of us.... It amazed me which is why I still remember this. It did this for several days, then it stopped... I still see owls and cranes escorting me but brown barn owls for me... my daughter has pure white large barn owls.

Thank you for this video..it really put my mind at ease, I have a n Owl that flies over several times on most nights and I most always catch her (without really know n ing 'her' gender sh e most always calls out and one time brought A mate o r youngster over us and made some very different noises.....we love this Owl, white underneath and a light brown , I assume on the top...never seen her in the day.

I've lost a friend, I was trying to do my best to help and support him, but he's kinda used me like I was his tools, and never concern about how I feel on helping him get through his problem.. but in the end, I'm giving up... Actually, Dwi, it sounds like you are making exactly the right decision. We can't save anyone no matter how hard we try; we can only provide love when they decide to save themselves. If we endlessly gave to people who did not want to help themselves and left us feeling drained, we would have nothing to give to those who DO want to change and heal. Take care of yourself, and save your love and support for the people who truly benefit from it. If someone is using you, it's completely okay to walk away!

Lol! You are absolutely right, Kervin. I steer clear of the word "empath" as much as I am able, because it is so over-used these days that most people don't have an accurate understanding of what it really means. And truly, we ALL have the capacity to be empathic; Owl People just tend to do it more naturally.

That's a really great question, Kervin! The shortest way to answer is this: There are a lot of people who are very sensitive to other people's emotions, and they use their awareness of when someone else is in a weak place to manipulate or control them. If you're familiar with the term "gaslighting", this would be something similar. A more dominant personality uses their awareness of someone else's lack of self-esteem or need for love to make them feel even worse for the purpose of weakening the other person and making them easier to control. So yes, there are "bad" empaths, but really, these folks are just bullies who are acting from their own intense insecurity. Does that make sense?

It may help to recognize that they are not actually mutually exclusive. Some of the biggest narcissists I know are extremely empathic! It's not that narcissists don't feel the emotions of others, but that they are so wrapped up in their own insecurities that they simply don't care, and they have to continually keep the attention on them (OR, they feel threatened by the emotions of others, and act selfishly because they think they won't get their needs met otherwise. And, of course, a lot of this happens on an unconscious level, i.e., they don't know why they do what they do). A lot of people use the term "empath", when what they really mean is "someone who is affected by the feelings of others." Does this help?
