Zelda Temple of Time Impressionistic Piano Arrangement - "Les Cloches du Temps"

- Have you all noticed how much impressionistic piano music there is in Zelda: Breath of the Wild? The playful Debussian staccati while taming a wild horse, the somber arrangement of the Song of Time that plays when Link explores a ruined Temple of Time? As you'd expect, I love the direction they've taken the soundtrack. :-)
Here's my own impressionistic piano arrangement of the Temple of Time theme, called "Les cloches du temps." I combined the well-known melody with a chord progression taken straight from Koichi Sugiyama's Legend of Sirius soundtrack (which he also re-used in the overworld music for Dragon Warrior). I composed it in November 2015, but am only getting around to posting it now.
This feels like the theme that should play after link returns to his original time before his journey began. Nothing but him looking around at the grand structure of the temple, reflecting back at everything he did. He would then see Navi fly off and disappear without a trace, i can only begin to imagine the feelings that poor boy must've felt at that moment. It must've made him go numb inside as he quietly left the temple.
Yeah like he was only 10 even though he was 17 he didn't age mentally so he pretty much did this traumatic adventure as a 10 year old boy let alone 17.
@@meganescriven3198 there is a point i feel durring OOT and MM where link feels like he goes from soldiering on through his adventure to being a wanderer. yes he has bursts of determination like when his horse is taken by the Skull Kid but most of the time he looks very... numb, as if his innocence was taken before it`s time leaving him distraught and confused yet unable to vent these emotions, keeping them bottled up inside as no one could even begin to understand his plight. and the only one who could`ve understood left him all alone.
The Hero of Time was the most selfless hero in the history of Zelda. He endured harsh trials and tribulations, as he was forced into adulthood to fix the past by correcting the future. He was forgotten in his time. No one remembered his utterly selfless deeds...he was abandoned by the only one who did. In his grief, the Hero of Time died alone...and became a lonely spirit of regret. His only goal? Not revenge, not fame, not glory...but to merely pass on his teachings. A true hero who deserved much, much better. Imagine, just for a second, imagine literally saving the world---making friends and companions, exploring all of an ancient land...only to be thrown into a time where NOONE remembers you, or your deeds. Those friends and companions you made? They believe you to be a stranger. I couldn't imagine the heartbreak.
Hearing this theme fills me with a thousand wonderful feelings, mainly of nostalgia. However, I am mostly filled with sadness...like I'm being left behind on something.
This is why i believe Link should've stayed back in Termina because those people actually knows he is a hero.
This is so beautiful. I love the familiarity but also the changes equally. Wish it was longer but that's what repeat is for I suppose. 😁
If they ever made a Zelda movie, you should be the first person they consult. This is gorgeous, and really epic on another scale. Beautiful.
Seeing an upload from you = getting a beautiful gift!
lovely to see you here You always inspired me thanks and i would love it if you could critique my current music in my channel
You're everywhere Rebecca! 😄💙🎶
Uuu Hi Rebecca. Your covers are also excellent
No u
Una demostración de amor y un homenaje a un Zelda mítico
Tiene buen gusto caballero
You're severely underrated. I love your take on this song. Earned a sub, I regret not discovering you earlier. I really want to learn this version of Song of Time.
3:16 this cover is so good it makes the still image of the temple seem like it’s got movement
I don’t even listen to this kind of music but this is well done it’s so beautiful it makes me feel a certain almost wanting to cry
holy shit, im frozen listening to this
best temple of time piano cover on earth, prove me wrong
Podrán hacer 1000 juegos nuevos pero ninguno podrá igualar al ocarina of time ❤️
Gracias Zelda por existir y dejarnos cosas como estás
Sublime y hermoso
You play beautifully. LoZ is my obsession and the temple of time song is one of my all time favourites. This is by far the best version of it I've heard to date. Please do more :)
After all these years, I always end up coming back here to listen to this song. I would purchase this on itunes if I could but Thankyou for this.
easily the most beautiful of the temple of time covers from oot.
If ever we get a remaster, this is what i want to hear.
This game became part of my character I am still playing it Ago 1999 ...
Wonderful! I'm really looking forward to breath of the wild. The soundtrack sounds amazing so far.
Yeah, I'm tempted to buy a Switch just for this game. Although playing Skyrim on-the-go would be a great way to pass time during long flights, too.
@@docnanomusic Do you sell your sheet music anywhere? It is so beautiful and I would love to learn to play it.
Beautiful. Always happy to see a new piece from you in my feed.
Looking forward to BotW as well!
Thanks for making this Zelda's temple of time piano arrangement, it is one of my favourite soundtrack, is really beautiful
This is somber remix of this song. It feels like we've reached the end of the journey and have to say goodbye to the friends we've made. It's bittersweet. Really great work composing it!
Beautiful playing, it has the soul of Link and Hyrule in it.
Zelda ocarina of time should be a hollywood movie. It deserves it.
Ocarina of time deserves something better than Hollywood
theirs no way it could be done to the satisfaction of the fans. i don't even know how they could successfully pull it off except for maybe those hoo have never Sean link or Zelda.those outside of any video game oriented circles.
@@supersaiyaman11589 I agree. Now matter how much money or detail that goes into it, the fans will eat it alive. Which is unfortunate, I would love for the franchise to play out on the screen. But eh, all money ain't good money.
Ryan Martin you do know that the detective pikachu was a hit that was Pokémon so with legend of Zelda they could do it too
@@ryanmartin73 i would have to disagree. If they actually followed the story and don't use overused actors/actresses. and don't try to add unnecessary stuff, it could work. think of why the super mario brothers movie is terrible. they followed nothing. they just made a typical 90s sci-fi men in black type movie.
I found your "lost wood" cover on overclocked remix, and loved it. So. Much. I'm so glad I found your channel :D
memed I'm glad, too! Thanks for the comment.
Lovely and yet melancholic
Thanks
There's a lot of beauty and sweetness in this :)
That reminds me of La Cathédrale Engloutie, by Debussy, there is the same bombast, the same elegance... Truly magnificent !
The doc never disappoints!
touches my hearth
This is amazing. I just have no words
love this.
really nice
I'm so glad that I found you
The progression originally made me think of the dark world theme from LttP. Very beautiful piece!
Its nice to know that there r other people who like this game as much as I do
I know BOTW has some good subtle music at the temple of time... But they should have used this. It fits that game's theme well.
Phantom_A320 i kind of disagree there as the temple in breath of the wild is in ruins and having such a heavy arrangement wouldn’t be fitting but i can imagine this being somewhere in breath of the wild
Blizz 4041 fair enough!
Maybe this should be a good idea for BotW 2 if the Temple Is restorated
Blizzary botw is fucking shit
@@05r41 Why did you even bother saying that? Now people will like you less.
Beautiful
I love this :)
It's beautiful. You're really talented! Thank you so much for this!
Power!, courage!, wisdom!.
Great, it should be put in the game.
Stellar work. Thanks, CryZEN
Hermoso simplemente hermoso
This is beautiful. Thank you so much.
Is there anyone else around youtube that does what you do? I'm a huge fan of video game music done in this classical style
i really love it
I imagine a more mature version of Ocarina Of Time with this song. A witcher like raw world and Oblivion like magical world.
YES! My one caviat to that is that Link must be more noble than Geralt. He has some good qualities, but the witcher on the cover often fails to match the standard of piety and chivalry that Link has held in nearly every game. But yes.
One sword is for monsters, the other... people.
Zelda is not for kids.
Yes, it could be exactly the same story, but in a realistic style, it would be great. Just hope that it becomes true someday.
This is amazing. Great work, I wish I could play like this.
Excellent comme à chaque fois :) J'adore tes arrangements !
Please do an impressionism version of fairy fountain.
Magnifique arrangement ! ^^
Yaaaas! I love this and appreciate how the tempo is in a second count
I LOVE this piece!
I dont know if I'd really call it "Impressionistic" though ^^', thats because it clearly has a strong tonal "center" unlike most of debussys pieces :D
But despite that I think you played it really soulfully. Love it!
MCMeru Thanks for the feedback. :-) I struggled with whether to call it 'impressionistic' for the reasons you mention. I decided in favor of it because (1) some of Debussy's works that are classified as impressionistic still employ rather conventional tonality (e.g. Clair de Lune, Reverie, Golliwogg's Cakewalk), and (2) the piece is composed so as to evoke a certain mood or impression - that of an ancient building standing through the centuries as time ticks slowly by. I agree it's a stretch, but it's debatable. :-)
More modal than tonal technically
1.5x speed sounds Amazing!
Do you sell your sheets? Im interested if you do.
Wunderbar
@RebeccaETripp, this story is for you.
*THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: A NEW HERO?*
Maria Silvia Hansen has been an ordinary person who has fawned over Link as a child. Until one day...
Maria was in her alley on Earth, continuing her portrait of the Hero of Time. She sighed. "Oh how I wish I could meet him!", she sighed to herself. Suddenly, a portal opens in front of her. "What...?", she says. She goes in without a moment's hesitation. "W-where am I..? This place... familiar to me.." Then she sees him: the legendary Hero of Time. "No... way!" She exclaims. Link nods and grabs her. "Hey... what're you...?!"
*TO BE CONTINUED...*

So like 5 plus years ago I found a song on myplaylist.com that was a zelda cover and I've been searching all over the place for it because it was taken off of myplaylist. If anyone out there knows the song I'm talking about please help I would love to hear it again.
maybe its on the OC Remix Channel
I wonder if the older architectures on Chirches and cathedrals are in fact temples of light - Leicester Cathedral seems like the Artisans distinctly refer to EEG usung different light around heads in the stories being to to represent the mind; the most ornate stained glass windows look like a religion of light was already here, even if not in the bible itself...Almost as if someone else took over somehow, or maybe two different cultures worked withing the organisation - seems rediculous? LEL.
omg
Satie? :O
lol is that a swastika as one of the triforce jewels? lol i mean it should be, its not evil, its a sacred hindu symbol, we should have a zelda with all the symbols of all world beliefs and unite all children with one amazing memory of childhood from nintendo
yessssssss
That was fast. :-)
Doc Nano (The VGM Impressionist) I'm just lucky I guess :D
When this can be paired with Michael Jackson's the Earth Song
:-D you're right....same chord progression.....also "Mad World" ;-)
It's in Frenchhhhhhhhhhh
10 people has no ears.
1.5x speed
That's not impressionistic piano.
Damn, there doesn't happen to exist a sheet for this?
Beautiful
