Lentus "Luftwaffle" - perfect glider

- I have taken some of the Multiplex models "at their mercy" because they are simply perfect. One of them is the Lentus. I already have the second one. The first one I crashed on a schoolboy error. The second one still makes me happy to this day. There are really few foam "Luftwaffle" models worth buying. Don't be fooled by the Graupner logo on the wing. It's there because the other wing has the Varioprop logo :-D But the Lentus is a Multiplex model!

I too have two Lentus.. Second one yet to be built. It's a backup if I were to every crash #1.. I love this plane. I put a 1,000 watt drive system in mine so the climb is quite impressive and still on 3s for lightweight
My compliments, I started flying my Lentus one year ago and since I was very satisfied, I bought a second one a few months ago (just in case. As usual for me, I covered my Lentus with vinyl DC-FIX: It adds weight but it increases the strenght a lot. My Lentus weights 3.2 kg but anyway, it flies very well. Powered with 4S and a 14x8 prop .
I covered My EPO Models with 3 mil laminating film (new stuff). Recently I bought a MPX Lentus kit, it has more work than they RR version, but I can install metal geared servos instead of the plastic ones. Hope to fly it soon
I got a Solius, its the smaller version of the lentus, all a can say is that a love this glider, its good for anything you expect from a glider like this..
Its has a good glide performance, a great 3d capability, a lot of trust, and yet light enough to use thermik with it..
It is my best first plane ever ❤️🔥
Yes, I agree :-) I had a Solius, too.
Beautifully built model there, very nice! Lovely flying spot you have as well.
Wow US$700 for a foamie 😮
has any one removed the stickers off the lentus without damage to the foam including leaving a matt looking area.
Id doubt youd damage the foam, I think its elapor which is a form of epp..
Model bez výbavy elektorniky nálepky nalepené nemá, ty si napepíte sám.
What is the CG measurement device? It looks cool
There's detailed building instructions online somewhere.
@@lubomirmojzes no the CG for the Lentus. What device are shown to meassure CG. It is the yellow device you show
@@damhoj Yes, it's a scale for weighing models and determining their CG. I got it from a modeler. But the detailed instructions for building the whole scale, including data for 3D printing and programming the microprocessor, is somewhere on the net. Google will help. I think it's called the "CG Scale".
I spent good money on a multiplex Cularis and it flew horribly. I dont' think I would buy another Multiplex sailplane after that.
Lentus is a different class. Flight characteristics excellent. The only disadvantage is that it's foam.
Your experience is not what 95% of others have I am sure. Their models are both well designed and built
I liked several of their models, but not that one. you should try flying it. I have a large fat twin cargo plane with bush wheels that glides better. and I can tune a sailplane. That was not a sailplane, but a brick in disguise. Stay recovery often resulted in another stall. Loved the easy star and easy glider. had a twister jet which wobbled a bit at low speeds but flew great and even had the Gemini biplane by them. it didnt' fly that well, but much better than the Cularis. I did put several hours on it and even equipped it with my own design fly by wire system. @@miksterr
I owned a Cularis and it was always fun to fly. Nice climbs, smooth glider. Dunno what could have been wrong with yours.
I thought the cularis was disscontinued long time ago.
If you can thermal this thing I'd give it a try-- is that a yes?-- it thermals?
It's a very good thermal glider
It will thermal but only up fairly high, all the foam models are almost twice as heavy as a same size modern balsa glider.. Those are the gliders that you can thermal from even at 100 feet..
that's too much work, I got mine ready to fly
Too much work? :-D Modelling is all about handwork! :-) And Multiplex Lentus is not modelling! It's a piece of toy even if it's a kit. I would never buy an RTF kit (RR version) because it's ugly done, and with RR you never know what's wrong with it. :-)
@@lubomirmojzes I always end up sticking the parts to my hands with the superglue! Thank God they make one built for guys like me. It is a super nice flying sailplane. You have a beautiful spot to fly.
@@lubomirmojzesRecently I bought My MPX Lentus, and I agree with You, is better to invest more time in the building, and install metal geared servos. Sorry for My English, is not my native language.
