This is so well-produced and written. Tiff does a great job. For 1992, it's insanely well edited and mixed from a video production standpoint. Awesome video.
Interesting to hear Tiff's explanation for the car being LHD. I read an interview with a 888 engineer at one time explaining why the Vectras were LHD. His answer was much simpler - 888 built super tourers for use in several countries, and more used LHD than RHD, hence they stuck with that. I suspect that's also the main reason why BMW motorsport did it too.
@theberengersniper While that maybe true, I think the main reason that they did it was that on a right hand drive 318is, the steering linkage is right in the way of the exhaust manifold. Where as if they make it Left hand drive, then the steering linkage really has nothing to interfere with. Also, the 318IS's engine is canted to the right, so placing the driver on the left would help balance the car somewhat. The FWD Vauxhalls and Nissans didn't have to deal with either of these problems.
The super tourers were so much better than todays touring cars which are mostly hatchbacks. Just a shame they got so technological and expensive, ultimately leading the orgnisers to have to ban them to reduce costs
Historic racer Jon Minshaw and former Porsche Carrera Cup GB and BTCC driver Tim Harvey are to team up to compete in the 2012 British GT Championship for Trackspeed. The duo will share a Porsche 911 GT3R backed by Tweeks Cycles and Demon Tweeks.......................

Great clip thank you. When the BTCC was at it's best 8 to 10 manufacturer supported teams all racing similar spec cars.
That Vauxhall is to die for. Drooooolllll..............

Man, hardly any rollcage in comparison to today
Tim Harvey - Still racing at a respectable level today - He must be about eighty years old now !
Lovely Induction noise of the 3sge at 8500 rpm!
@supertouring22 wow, that would have been fantastic!
