So, other than a slow leak from the connectors(?) what is wrong with it? Was it accurate for pressure reading versus something more expensive? Did the temp clamps perform comparatively to more expensive units? Would have been more interesting. Obviously these are no good for leak testing after vacuuming but could be useful as a cheapo set for charging.
what made you get those manifold risky man, ? your fieldpiece srl8 have you changed the heated diode refi sensor,my srl8 worked real good but lately its been erratic and weak seem like it cant pickup the refri I m guessing the heated diode needs replacement what your opinion!
Look more like Testicools hahaha! On a serious note, be careful of the sight glass, mate of mine had one (on proper brand manifold) fail and hit him in the face...
Haha, I bought the manifold for the fun button to,off ebay. First it was a week late. Then I finally got to test them against my Testo manifold today. The clamp on sensors failed in the first 10 minutes. Won't even read the t1 sensor . Major regret.
Woooo. Totally "You get what you pay for". No FUN there. You can get them for 60 € in Ali Express. Was actually thinking about getting one. I think I'll save up for a Testo . Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the review! I saw these on eBay and was terrified at the thought of some poor tech using one in the field. I am looking to make the jump to digital mainly for 410A. I'm on a budget so I was thinking the testo 550 may be a good start.
the cheapness reminds me of those plastic safe "tools" the various manufactures of power tools puts out for kids. This could be a part of the lil' kids refrigeration tech test set.
It's show time, don't let me down DOYs. Those wheel knobs are so pimped out. Watch out testo here come the DOYs😂 Dr. Kevorkian gauges of choice. Great one Dave😹👍
For as cheap as the company I work for is, they give us fieldpiece electronic gauges. I've loved them so far, only shucks is it doesn't have a pressure test timer..unless I haven't found it. Otherwise I dig getting SH and SC readings, or not earballing it for a vacuum. I know one thing, I'm going to make sure my boss doesn't find those gauges. He would be that guy to do that.
The knockoffs often have the last laugh as they often reinvest the original sucker purchases to improve the product up to a point as to threaten name brands.
hehe, chinesium fighting chinesium gotta love it!!! (none win in the end) pull out the 30+ year old gauges with dry-rotted outer hose jackets..... aka, only thing needed?, eyes to see the gauges, scribble stick, touch and something to scribble on if you wanted to do math ;)
Oooh! It's got a setting for R-744! Now *that* might result in some "fun" shrapnel! I've seen some much more convincing knockoffs of the Testo gauge set on eBay. I think they're too expensive to be worth the risk. I'll wait until I can have the genuine article.
i have the exact same unit, and yes it's plastic but it's HEAVY. Feels like some decent mental internals based just on weight. The plastic COVER is cheap, but the innards are what matters.
Will there be any serious Professional, who can give a recommendation on the quality of this equipment? And that he can talk about precision and accuracy in reference to standardized patterns of both Pressure, temperature and other indirect variables? I say this because we must make serious analyzes with arguments that estimate the Cost-Quality factors without prejudice to "Brands" or Nationalities. We would do a great favor and contribution to the Engineers and Technicians who are looking for fair cost alternatives. Thank you......
It appeared to do the job. I checked and they had their own version for temp probes. Yeah its cheap. If you're a pro its shameful to have cheap tools so why buy it? How is it for a back yard mechanic that does a few ac units or the occasional heat pump top off? After all that's probably the real market I would assume.
That's my question too. Build quality aside, do they function well? I do maybe 20 automotive a/c systems a year and can't justify spending big bucks on Testo etc, but I'd love to stop using analog gauges and go digital.
What was this some type of Amber alert for the industry? Caution cheapo don’t even think about it. Nor-Cal Dave and America’s Test Kitchen the tech edition. You can’t even give that thing away! Bad JuJu. Contact Amazon, they’ll give you your money back.
Yeah, America's test kitchen convinced me that I needed to spend $80 for a Thermapen kitchen thermometer. Reads in 1/4 the time of my previous digital thermometer off of Amazon, which is really important when you're standing in front of a 400 degree oven. Plus it comes with a calibration certificate traceable to NIST.
warning : they changed the name to Beley autool on amazon.. exact same tool.. this video is great for warning people about the shoddy shite some companies sell
Probably worth $20usd in Mainland China. Tools and equipment is super cheap over there. But the quality is questionable 50% of the time. The mechanical tools are okay. Bought some while I was there for training and use them as #sharetools Lol.
@@NorCal-refrigeration I seen I am really suprised it did not dump the hole charge from that cooler immediately and you'd be unable to get pressure to hold up from the bottle. Lol

Many Chinese knock off with cheap plastic but good inside. Why would you buy it if you don't use it? I am fine with this because i don't do AC repair for a living. If I do i would spend the bucks for the pro. one. To me Fieldpiece brand is pricey but Testo will be just as good but way more reasonable price.
