She was amazing, and at the core of her message is an immense kindness and understanding for BOTH genders. Shere was only trying to spread the love in a hopelessly closed, impenetrable society.

She had courage to speak so plainly about a sensitive subject. I like that Mike Douglas seems to become more receptive to her as the conversation continues, and that David Hasselhof participates in the discussion.
quite amazed that shere hite was invited onto a american talk show, given the ridiculously prurient and puritanical nature of television in the country. when hosts are too embarrassed to say vagina (i saw this somewhere), an accurate medical term, surprised that she was a lot more free in her vocabulary, i mean from the side of the network not censoring her. And a very intelligent and considered David Hasselhoff.

Poor David being put on the spot like that. This perfectly illustrates Shere's point that men are conditioned to be uncomfortable discussing this subject. Both Shere and David were brave to participate in the discussion to begin with and Shere deserved much more approval and celebration for her pioneering work❤ Because of the resistance to her conclusions, we are still suffering from The Orgasm Gap between men and women.

This interview and Shere’s published books took place at an interesting time in history. A good discussion ripe for the times to move us forward.
Douglas was initially dismissive, characterising her sources as "vague" until she revealed her impressive methodology of surveying 7,000+ respondents anonymously to gather data. Hasselhoff was refreshingly relaxed venturing into the discussion.
No scientist would accept her methodology.
She conducted meticulous research and reported what she found, that's all. People answered anonymously and frankly. Her books were the best information on human sexuality at the time. People were keenly interested in sex in the 70's and welcomed the chance to talk about it.
RIP Shere.
this was years back, but we still inhabit a male- dominated sexual landscape..just look at you tube!...shere hite had some good insights, not sure her method of information- gathering was always scientific, but good points all the same.

As are most Americans. The vestiges of those Puritanical attitudes are still with us.
She was and is a legend to my way of thinking. And so thoughtful in her research and presentation. But count on the spoiled teenage reaction of American adults in this country. It's outrageous that she was the innocent recipient of so much vitriol. Like that ridiculous security guard. What kind of a grown man complains about a woman slapping them? I mean, what kind of a man are you? Even if it was true....what kind of coward are you?

Most men would feel uncomfortable to realize that women deeply despise them...

She does not much study on abnormal sexual aspects,like,duration..Sex that takes six,or eight hours long to complete..But,that is understandable,it is not a basic hurdle to get over with for the starters..
It's cringey whenever Hasselhoff opens his mouth.

I have a hard time ( no pun intended) believing that women enjoy sex with men... it seems like a chore to them...as a matter of fact I think that women find shopping more pleasurable than sex...to women sex is not a goal...but a tool to get something...money, social status, attention...Men are wired differently...to them sex is a goal. So I think that exposing how frustrated women are sexually touched a nerve with many men that believed that their partner was enjoying as much as themselves when she probably would prefer to do something else...Women can pleasure themselves more effectively with anything but a man.
It's all about attraction, communication, understanding, listening and a lot more. I have always found that in most situations it always works out so much more satisfying for the woman and myself when I offer to stimulate her first and then again. And again. And if she wants to help, well hell yes. How sexy is that? But it's so much more fun when they experience their orgasm first and last and in between....Jesus Christ....that is so alluring and sensual. Have you ever seen a woman orgasm? Man, it has always made me so damn ready when it was my turn. Even now, at age 57. It's still fun. I just know more now. But to see her reaction....the perspiration, the crying out, the wetness in her vagina....I mean for f's sake man. Putting them first pays so many dividends. It's the consummate win win.

You’ve got to be joking. Women adore sex with the right man, someone who takes immense pleasure in giving pleasure. I’ve been with the same man for 30 years and sex isn’t a chore yet 😊.
This is all too much for David , went way over his head .
