Debatable it can work if done well
The movie wasn't grounded and that's why I liked it. People say the movie was horrible but I liked it. Maybe it won't hold up on rewatch.
@@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259 it was mostly horrible for the bad casting choice, underwhelming acting and tedious writing. Its fun when you are on no brain mode but otherwise its nothing but a empty shell with no soul in it.

I can see why they chose the design they chose for joker in this film because most of the unused designs are even worse.
Fun Fact: It may not be in the Ayer Cut, but in one of Ayer’s script, Enchantress grows to 20 ft tall and wears Golden armor, which is where that concept
comes in.
I personally would’ve chosen the Dark Knight returns suit for Joker, the white and purple one since Batflecks suit is based off of Dark Knight Returns bat suit and it looks like something a more elegantly insane mob life Joker would wear

The Scarecrow design is actually pretty good, what's most important for Scarecrows design is that we shouldn't know what's under his costume and hay peeking out of his clothes and this concept art nailed it.
yeah and also scarecrow was not in anything and then he was in one of the nolan movies one time then disappeared from movies again like he is so underrated and should be in more movies.

Joker design also was based on All-Star Batman and Robin comic, where he was muscular and had yakuza dragon tattoo, and on "Batman R.I.P.", where he also was shirtless, and had slicked back hair. In this comic he also had scars, so probably that's why his early concepts gave him this smile

What could have been...Although I love James's Gunn's The Suicide Squad some and i do mean some of the early comsept art of the 2016 film makes me really want that original cut
So in their cloud of ideas, the best they come up was copying Nicholson's take and the worst was making him a Joker's goon from the Arkham games (which would make the design feel better).

The design of Scarecrow looks cool and I think they should have brought in Shadow thief as well as his greatest enemy Hawkman and Hawkgirl since they live in Midway City and also that they look like angels
my main problem was the villian they chose. everything else made sense in its own non-sensical way but having a mystic deity be the villian and a group of supervillians with a couple guns defeat her was kinda lame. maybe Enchantress could've worked but the way the ending was written just didn't feel right. i still liked the characters, even the Joker. the script was the biggest problem to me

The artist just used him as a model for the art. He was never in talks for the role.
Idk about the early joker designs. They want to be different but kinda just look like Jack Nicholson or Heath ledger. I like the gangster aspect but they went too hard later but a bit safe early on. Maybe just the purple pimp jacket without a shirt with the short hair would’ve been fine. And maybe a ha ha ha chain and a tattoo of the joker card on his torso. And instead of grills just straight up gold teeth that he probably stole from other gangsters

The Suicide Squad is where it's at, but the inclusion of Steppenwolf is actually a good idea to drive home that June or the spirit inside was tied to him. Offering the character and June to become more bonded as a result.
The ink on Joker was always gonna be controversial but this was too much, the damaged crap on the head and the grill. It's a laughing stock now.
There's also one piece of art you might have missed, WF. It's something with Leto/Joker's shaved eyebrows with little "Ha ha ha" on them and a sharpie outline around the lips.

Amazing how someone can just excuse the horrible designs by just saying “oh it’s a more modern and grounded look” yeah? Well it still looks like total ass. I’m shocked that the joker design we got is somehow the better than most of the ones presented. Legit the ONLY one I liked was the Glasgow smile with a blind eye and scars. Even then I don’t think I’d have actually liked it, it’s just the best in comparison.

The Joker as a crazed gangster isn't a new idea. It was done far superior by Jack Nicholson in Batman 89.

I think not much has changed in the film, a few new scenes have been added, but the film has basically remained the same, and the eggs are only in profile.
