    I am impressed by how far you let the situation go “wrong” ofc knowing that it’s possible to fix it.
    I hope the cadets know how lucky they are to have an instructor like you.

      Thank you for appreciating the training value of this. Even some instructors don't. Some seem to think that telling the cadet what button to press will make them understand.
      Recently the instructors were asked not to let pilots end up above the glide slope amongst other things, to reduce risk. Personally I think it depends on the skill of the training Captain, but oh well.
      Judging from the feedback I get from cadets, most do appreciate my method a lot though.
      Thank you for purchasing my book. Hopefully I create a new generation who truly understand this subject and eventually create a new generation of instructors who can actually teach it.

    You're really doing a great job discussing descent management. Although type specific, a lot of the discussion actually applies to jet transport category aircraft in general. It's a bit sad that pretty much nobody else has been doing that so far on CZcams. It's excellent training material for everyone, even experienced pilots as it really gives one the opportunity to play what if and question one's own techniques and habits.

      Thanks. Indeed, a lot of it is applicable to all jet aircraft. A generic book is in the planning. I wish I had something like this when I started flying 🤣

    Hello, first of all, thank you for the videos you have made; they are very helpful. I have a question for you. You mentioned that selecting flaps to create drag is not correct and causes problems, but when I use 1 flap in open descent mode 10 knots below the green dot, I see a significant difference on my vertical speed . Can you explain this topic in more detail?

      The increase in vertical speed comes from the period when it is pitching down to catch the speed target. If you would film it like I do and then take an average across several flights, you will find that it makes no difference at all.
      Especially when there is a bit turbulence, it can give the impression that the vertical speed will increase at ttimes, but it will equally reduce at times as the plane has to pitch up to catch the speed target.
      Flap 2 does create drag (about the same as speed brakes) but there are other reasons not to use Flap 2 for drag, which I describe in my book.
