Thank you SIR. Your video led me straight to the problem my power washer was having. My local small engine guy didn't want to deal with PWs and couldn't think of anyone who would. So with renewed resolve off to YT I went. The adustment valve was so gunked up I had trouble moving it with the spring removed.

I just went out to try my washer that was borrowed and sitting for quite a while. Hooked up water and opened until water coming out wand. Let handle go, and started it. Bogged down and died. Pulled trigger and started, water was flowing with no spray nozzle. Let trigger go, started to bog again. So, pressure unloaded was stuck. Left the whole unit together and unscrewed it from the pump body. Put it in a wood vice and put 3 in 1 oil on the shaft. There was calcium deposit on the shaft. Hit the end with rubber mallet several times. Turned the valve and squeezed the end pin into the valve body three or four times. Put it back on and it now works. Didn’t have to do any adjustments.
Thanks for your video! It showed me what I was looking for.

UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust czcams.com/users/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.

I have learned to keep an extra unloading valve and the tools to change one out. When I have time later I can free up the old one.

Great video. Unfortunately if none of this works, you might have to pull the caps off and remove the little plastic check valves. I've seen some CZcams videos with some smart duds having a hell of a time with them when they're jammed in there.

Adam, also clean the check valve on the clear hose, it clogs up big time. Don't loose the very small spring.

A silicon based spray is easier on the Orings. The valve does come apart with an Allen wrench on the side the spring pushes against and a wrench holding the seat.

Hey Adam, I am having a similar problem as your pressure washer. My unloader valve looks the same as yours, which is unlike all the others on youtube it seems. My stem has play and is not jammed up but when I put the spring in it locks the stem in place and it does not move at all. Did you ever figure out the problem with yours? Any resources you can point me to?

I don’t have any issues with pressure, but my engine can’t idle for more than 7-15 seconds at a time unless I click the trigger. It also has a hard time cranking. I have changed the oil, added new fuel, disassembled and cleaned the carb, changed the spark plug, and cleaned the air filter. I’m kind of lost at this point.

I know this is a 4 month old comment but just went through the same and motivated to share. If your sure all 6 internal valves are OK then focus on unloader Valve (thing in this video), which was my issue. Disassemble clean & grease up, then back out the small set screw on exterior end with allen key to where it is not going to blow off but just a few threads on. Start it up and slowly screw it back in a one turn at a time as you check gun pressure and ability to idle. The more you tighten it the more pressure it will produce. Go to far and it's safty blow off valve will shoot water out so make sure you know where it is going to go. Wear eye protection! There is a good video of a guy who has cut away pump block to show how unloader valve works to help understand.
