Beautiful city. I was in new Kingston five years ago and enjoyed my stay. I took trips to the coronation market, craft market, Bob Marley museum, Half a tree mall, emancipation park, etc. Will go again God willing. Amen.

Of course Kingston the most millionaires 132 Jamaica dollar to 1US dollar technically an entry level police officer basic pay is J$$745.200 an year so it's easy to become a millionaire in Jamaica except when leave Jamaica those figures don't add up to nothing much that title goes to Barbados sorry to bust your bubble

Nice video and a beautiful Kingston Jamaica. However both downtown and uptown Kingston needs atleast some 20-25 storey buildings. I think that'll fascinate many of us Jamaicans.
Trinidad has about 8 buildings that height or taller but commenters here are saying jam is the envy of the region
@@ricko2301 The thing is this is a business district & unique & distinct in that way. Has many hotels, enjoys over 250,000 business tourists annually & is separate & apart from the wharf area of Kingston. The wharf is really the lifeblood of the general Kingston area.
This separate area tho is a real estate bloc dubbed "Golden Triangle" that poses mixed use buildings which helps to drive its appeal.
It really hasn't reached half of its potential as a developers & owners bubble yet.

Mansfield and Buckfield communities in Ocho Rios need to be demolish, so greater Ocho Rios can expand to look like New Kingston with a wide array of commercial activities that will take the strain off the current beach area where traffic and harrassment is concern.

@@boynton20 I was talking about a financial centre, not anything to do with beauty of New Kingston because it's not beautiful!!!! Old dilapidated buildings that look like Jamaica stuck in the 1960s. If Ocho Rios and Montego Bay wanna seek inspiration from a capital city in the Caribbean ( architecturally speaking), they better look to Nassau, San Juan, Bridgetown, Port of Spain or Hamilton because Kingston is the shithole that just keeps on giving.
Please try to do another one of these type videos at the end of the year but try to do both new kingston and downtown all in one video if you can also include the national stadium like allow the video to go further down over the stadium and further uptown into the upper waterloo area and mona areas too because there are other buildings still under construction that weren't included in this awesome video the ruthven towers for example and a few others .

I didn't say New Kingston is better than Ocho Rios. I just want to see Ocho Rios with more commercial buildings in it's expansion plan rather than houses, and since New Kingston is a business commercial district, I reccomend that type of development for greater Ocho Rios with better architecture and beautiful pastel color buildings of course.!!!!!!!

20 *South Avenue* is in *New Kingston* bro *Pete* and is in the video. When the camera pans over *Knutsford Blvd* you can see the building in the distance towards *Half Way Tree* .....🤔

@@JamieDPS yes...you are right..it could make it harder for some drivers at night and at certain lighting conditions to see the turns....this poor road marking problem is wide spread all over Jamaica...all the authorities do after road accidents is blame the drivers and don't even look at the poor road markings or lack of it...

I'm sorry, but the buildings look so dated!!! It's like Jamaica coughing up the 70s and 80s. For inspiration, please look at Port of Spain or San Juan!!!!
You clearly don't know what you're talking about. Kingston doesn't need any inspiration from neither of those second-tier cities.
The tallest building in Port of Spain is 27 floors and the tallest building in San Juan is 28 floors, which was built in 1970.
The transformation that is taking place in Kingston right now will put both of them to shame in a few years. New Kingston is just one of Kingston's four main Business Districts that is being transformed as we speak with the construction of six new highrises over 20 floors and another two highrises over 30 floors etc., which when completed will give Jamaica the tallest building in Caricom and the third tallest in the Caribbean.

I don't care about the height of Port of Spain buildings, I'm talking about the sleek modern 21st century type which in Kingston case, it's probably only Digicel building in downtown Kingston may beg to differ!!!!! If Port of Spain and San Juan is second-tier cities, where would you rank Kingstown? Even African cities are more modernized, so I no longer compare Kingston with African cities because Kingston still stuck in the past. Port of Spain is not Kingston. Kingston is a good size well laid out city. Port of Spain is a nice size town with a few tall buildings. It's quite nice but just not Kingston. I have been to both.
@@answerdstewartfineartist I notice you didn't mention San Juan world renowned architecture buildings. I love all of them but I never walk or drive around Kingston and look up at it's building an go WOW. It doesn't brings out the wow factor like Old San Juan architecture. I'm not talking about size. If you wanna see what I'm talking about just look at any CZcams videos of Old San Juan and do your own comparison.
