A Grueling Two Day Trip to Mt. Conrad - BC, Canada

- I meet up with my friend Rob W. for a ski trip into the BC backcountry. I started planning this route over two years ago after discovering a trail leading to the glacier... the purpose of this trail seemed to be for mining, not mountaineering. Searching the internet lead to no results in terms of climbing up the mountain itself, so there was only one way to find out if it would actually work! I had hoped to recruit two others to join me, but had trouble finding partners midweek. Big thanks to Rob for meeting up and bringing along his many, many years of mountaineering experience!

I'm always shocked this channel doesn't have a million subscribers. The Foresty Forest experience is pure gold.
Give it time, he’ll get there! 😊
It’s because he has chosen to remain ad free basically, and thus the Utube algorithm doesn’t push him out to the masses. He has put his morals ahead of his bank account.
And nearly every single video on Foresty's channel gets over 100,000 views, which is extremely important to AdSense.
A channel can have a million subscribers, but if their videos only average a few thousand views per video, that content creator is not making nearly as much money per video as Foresty does.
He may not have a million subscribers yet, but the number of views that he gets on each video is phenomenal!!
His channel is pretty boring
@@jayoneill1533 💯🙂 without a doubt.
Just amazing how beautiful this earth is and 99.999% will never see this beauty in person. Thanks for showing us.
One of the sad parts about the shrinking wild spaces and species.
So many people alive today never saw them, and thus have little appreciation of the beauty that’s irretrievably lost. So, they also have less motivation to preserve what we have now.
There is sufficiency on earth for man’s needs, but not man’s greed. (Mahatma Gandhi) Our failing species won’t learn that until too late.
I couldn't agree more. My sentiments exactly.
@@user-fq6pd5sc7l . Which part of this depicts greed?
Just open your eyes wherever you are. There is beauty everywhere my friends.
@@d33rex64 . Very True Indeed.
I was only a few minutes into this video before I uttered my first "Wow!". By the ten minute mark it was up to four. Thank you Foresty Forest, for carrying all of us with you..
Me too , big time saying WOW , wish I could do this ,no more time and serving the man took my strength .
Foresty, you have an uncanny ability to pick the BEST music to accompany your beautiful video footage!
Right on , just as his skiing down came to an end so did the music.
There are channels I will play solitair through, Foresty Forest is not one of them. This was so beautiful. There are places that have so much beauty it makes me cry, this was one of them. Thank you.
Yes, I put down everything, put on my glasses and watch the tv screen! I don’t do that for many videos.
Simon giggling down the mountain in pure joy! Beautiful ❤
Also, Rocco has to be one of a very few dogs to experience the exhilaration of skiing down a glacier. If only she could talk!
Nicely done, indeed.
I can't believe Rocko just bagged her 67th summit. Meanwhile, we mere mortals watch from the comfort of our computers/phones. What an amazing dog and an amazing owner. Props to Rob W. for helping you out on this summit. Thanks for taking us along on yet another stellar adventure, Simon @ForestyForest.
made me sad when he skied down and had to go back up to the summit to get her.
That was one of your best videos. You are now firmly in the very top of YT videos. (YT might have an 'Oscar' some day.)
If you ever get tired of 'van life'... becoming a film director/producer might be in order !
Thank you!
@@forestyforest Yowser8780 is exactly right but I know you could never, ever survive in the constricted life of a film director/producer....Just do you Simon....been riding, hiking, vaning, climbing with you for years and years....still waiting for someone to comment on my Foresty Forest sticker on my pickup...
Rocko , a hot water bottle with legs , a tail and an awesome personality ! ❤
Saturday just got a lot better! Thanks FF!
It really does. All hail Foresty and Rocko!
I read that as thanks Freedom Factory lol maybe I should chill on the CZcams 🤦♂️😂
@user-fq6pd5sc7l Tf you talking about?
Rocko is living the dream.
That shot of Rob starting to ski down from the summit of Mount Conrad with those wispy clouds passing almost directly over his head was spectacular!
It was. How steep was that slope?
Consistently superb work!
Thanks for the invite on this one, well worth the effort of hauling the boards & gear up to that glacier.
(...though I'll pass on any bearspray rematch)
I'm already looking forward to your next post!
Thank you, Rob! Was a great one for sure!
Hi Rob! Good to see you again in another one of Foresty's videos. Glad that you guys had a good time!
Rob: “Could be one wrong way to do it and we’re on it”!!😂 The geology looks crazy beautiful!! This was an awe inspiring vlog - an adventure in 13 minutes.
I just love the happy laughter while Simon skis. And seeing Rocko's nose is the best!!
Thanks for another amazing video!
I feel like an absolute slob lying here on the couch eating ice cream and watching both of your heroic efforts. Well done and so is the pint of choc chip.👍
LOL
Not the ending I was expecting there, @michaelrck
That’s hilarious!
@@PulpParadise It was hard work, but I got there in the end. lol👍
@@TerryW5379 For my next adventure I will be attempting to scale the peaks of a 2 pt Vanilla Fudge.👍
The only thing I'm getting up for at 3:30am these days is the bathroom. Spectacular summit!
😂 same here
Sadly, true for me as well.
@MsRotorwings yep and me, 3 times per night.
Always good to see you healthy, in beautiful places with good friends!
You never realize how important socializing is until you're alone with yourself too long! 😶
I have a lot of respect for those of you who are healthy strong and live life to its fullest. Thanks Simon for bringing your best life and adventurous to us.
wow, the power of glaciers.....incredible....THIS was EPIC!!!
Just a tip for anyone that's had the bear spray go off like that while you're in the bush... bring along some basic liquid dish soap and use that to clean your skin and clothing. Should help the burning. 😊
A fire. A beer. And a Foresty episode. Live is good.
Stunning, otherworldly BC scenery - thanks for bringing us there!
I’m watching this in the heat of mid day and had to throw a blanket over myself because I started shivering! You are one adventurous man!
Although falling water is powerful, there is one force stronger....Rocko! She has the power to summit mighty peaks bringing her hooman along with her. All hail Rocko!
Your vids make me realize once again how beautiful our planet Earth really is. Stunning shots FF. Hi Rocko.😊🐕🐶
And HUGE beyond belief .... They make it seem small . The Basterds
I have been watching you for years and still blown away by your content. You are one talented man. Those drone shots are out of this world. Someone needs to get National Geographic on the phone.
Thanks!
Man's best friend indeed...your dog ain't shook. She's just happy being along for the adventure.
Foresty Forest taken me places and showing me things, I'd never see at this point in my life I am grateful Simon.
@@user-fq6pd5sc7l WTF Are you even talking about?? What "GREED"??
Bear spraying oneself is a new one.
I’ve done it. Fresh, fresh grizz poop, safety off, bend down to tie a boot - WHAM.
yeah.... no! it's been done by many means and reasons.
❤ foresty and others pepper spray is an oil the only way to break it down is with another oil❤ all the washing with soap does nothing😮
What a sight those ice caves were with falls inside! Each one with it's own unique swirls. Very exciting adventure to watch. Rocko is just the best mountaineering companion EVER.✌️
Just hearing you laugh with such joy, whilst skiing, it makes me smile every time haha.
Seeing you summit with a friend was amazing, and it served as a great reminder of how brave you are with your solo summits. Foresty, yet another jaw-dropping film!
Sometimes there just aren't any words... 👏👏👏
All 3 of you are on another level of fitness! WOW! Rocko is amazing!
Stunning footage!
Thanks for extra effort of filming it 🙂
I will never again complain about pushing my cat in her stroller, across my lumpy bumpy backyard. Glad you’re safe dude, rescue has been busy
😊 sounds like your cat is living the dream! And yeah, been following the sad news about the ongoing Squamish search.
Just WOW. So spectacular that I almost cried❤️
" Rocko" the luckiest dog alive...no words to describe the emotions welling inside, watching your experiences
Foresty lives to climb another day 🏔️
National Geographic !!! with Foresty Forest !
This even beats Mt Everest, with all the crowds.
Absolutely stunning. Ooohhh my goodness. And to side kick Rocko…great job ! Thank you for taking such great care of the little one.
Love the National Geographic type of views. What a big adventure. Thanks for taking me along. 🙏
THIS CHANNEL SHOULD BE AT LEAST 1 MILLION SUBS. ITS INSANE. SPREAD THE WORD, EVERYONE!!
is 398K not enough for you
You're man Foresty Forest. The goddamn National Geographic channel doesn't have images like yours. I'm seeing the mountain through eyes. Thanks buddy.
Great adventure, storytelling, camera work, and editing. Thanks for taking us along.
Man. The hiking, the river crossings and inclement weather conditions. You have my deepest respect. Kudos baby and cheers
This is the peak of human experience.
"Two paths diverged..", on a mountain; but one had Pyrite inclusions! Awesome adventure, as always🤙
While our mountains may not be the highest, our latitude makes up for how spectacular they are. The combination of snow, wind, and ice eroding away at them over time makes them as epic and difficult as the Himalayas.
Without having to use oxygen.
Another epic videography of man and dog meets mountain!
No words. Just wow 😮 ❤
we are glad you are back😄
Glad to see you with a friend on your trek.
All I can say is "WOW!" Thank you for sharing.
Spectacular drone work as always, Foresty, along with the hike. And Rocko, of course, and the requisite touch of humor. What amazes me even more is that you turned around a gorgeous, informative video of that quality in three days. Outstanding. Thanks for bringing us along.
Wow, dude, you're living the life! This is so amazing to see. Keep exploring and stay safe!
Rocko living the dream.
the most beautiful views of the mountains I have ever seen😃
Thank you, the catalog of North American peaks continues in unparalleled drone clarity, no one does it better!
11 days ago is a grueling wait a minute.
This channel is a waiting game.
This channel needs a waitress
@@Jon-jk8vd This channel needs a *Garçon !*
That's how you catch a Foresty Forest's attention.
❤ gooood morning ❤
That was a beautiful video! 🤩

OMG!!!!! Unbelievably beautiful!!!! You guys are amazing! Thanks so much for taking us along!!! Glad you made it back safely. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Once again, OG foresty forest livin life 100!
The ski videos are a great addition to the channel! Jealous youre still skiing into June!
Awe that really sucks about the bear spray, hope he's still enjoyed himself. Amazing video FF
That Glacier is the icing on the cake.
What an amazing and demanding climb. Congratulations on reaching the summit. You and Rocko have experienced what I can only imagine. Living vicariously through your adventures is always special. Thanks for taking me along.
You are a true mountaineer, FF. Thanks for taking us with you and Rocko.
Rocko outdid himself on this one! Summit 67!!
I love all my youtubers but you are the best Simon 💙 Thank you 🙏
that falling down part was so realistic i had to check myself for a black and blue mark.
The planet is scorching hot. 🌎🌍🌏🔥
🎶 _Foresty Forest he cools on a glacier, Foresty Forest!_ 🎶🪕
Oh Simon! How VERY BEAUTIFUL 🥰 Thank you So much for a Perfect way to end a lovely day ❤ Love to Rocko
The true definition of out off the beaten track. 4k quality and to be frankly next level content.
Thank you for bringing us to another, yet incredible journey!
The skiing adds an extra dimension to already amazing journeys.

Canada has it all! Incredible glaciers, falls and people like you 2 to glam it all to us. Thank's ❤
Greetings fellow druids and pagans!
Happy Summer Solstice 2024 to you, Foresty Forest!! 🌞 🏵 🌻 ☀️
(And the longest day of the year!)
I was so relieved to hear that the orange paint will wash off in the rain (at Stonehenge). ☺️
And it is also the official first day of summer!
(although it may not feel like it yet at the elevations that Foresty likes to frequent!)
What are you brewing bout?
CHEERS 🍻
💙 that ice cave waterfall!! Awesome, guys! # 213 FF, #67 Rocko!! Woo hoo! 🎖🎖🎖
The cinematography, editing and audio is mindboggling!
The opening montage was wondrous to watch❤.
Simon, your skill has no bounds… I’m continually impressed. Thank you for this 🙏
Wow! Absolutely stunning. That was shitty for Rob with the bear spray incident. That must have been super painful. Thank you for the stunning work you put in here and Thanks to Rob for being patient.
This just made my day, pure joy!
Those water crossings made me feel cold, even while watching from my warm house. And as usual, Rocko is the star.
I can tell you've had some creative juice recently! I know you can feel bound to an algorithm, but I love the freshness of your content lately and I'm exited to see you branch out more!
Stunning footage.. The ice cave 😍 The view from the mountain top 😍
Well Done👏 You & Rocko are THE BEST 😊🐾💙🌱😎Safe Adventures
Longtime viewer 👍🏻🥰👍🏻, … This video, with its different music choices, stunning (very inadequate word😢) cinematography, location, excellent nicely timed editing, or HELL
Top two Trips !!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Shout out to Warren Miller! As a teenager in the 1980 we saw him live at the Santa Monica Municipal theatre. Another well done trek!
THANKS
Another fantastic video. Thank you so much Simon for taking me places I would never be able to see. Sorry your friend got maced. It's always good to see Little Rocko being such a little trooper. Take care and be safe
