Ha. I have these little bin drawer things. I have two of them stacked under a table near my desk. Each one has a label that's a different color. There are 6 drawers. One for absent work, one for Monday, one for Tuesday, one for Wednesday, etc. I print the stuff off two days in advance so I don't have to worry about it. On Wednesday, I almost panicked because I hadn't printed off Friday's stuff. So, I quickly went and did that.
I do sometimes project the work or write it on a board for them to copy. It's because they control how many copies or print-outs we can make. So, I'm paranoid I'll hit the max. That's why I sometimes do that. I do have a printer in my room. I have to buy ink for it. The rule is, we can keep the printers until they run out of ink. The school is out of ink, so I purchase my own since having a printer in the room is better than walking to the other side of the floor I'm on to get something printed if I need an extra. Or if I run out of copies (which has happened). I also buy my own paper for the printer in the classroom.
I hate how controlling it is. They don't like the personal printers because the ink is more expensive and they can't limit how much we can use it. We have sign-in codes for the copiers (that are also the printers). I think part of that is to make sure we don't print stuff that isn't work-related. I never really have to print non-work related stuff. I have a printer at home for that. It's so controlling. There's no trust at all. No money either. I buy refurbished ink to save money. So far, it's worked. I'm on my third cartridge. I have one spare left. They usually last about a year. Edit: Oh, and the copiers go down sometimes, but the personal printers don't. If they go down, you're screwed unless you still have a printer in your room with ink.
