Saw a teacher’s school bag recently that said ‘does this bag make my papers look graded?’ Hilarious!
I retired 6 years ago. I still have NIGHTMARES of those “You didn’t submit your attendance” calls from the office. 🤬
I read this and went to check the system for my Friday attendance 🤣
My son's teacher last year always forgot to do that. They were doing school using zoom so I could hear her. Eventually she just put an alarm on everyday to remind herself.
M’y students last year got to the point that they reminded me. Haha
I set alarms on my phone.
Every summer I plan to be type A. By October I’m firmly type B until next summer
100% me... Yesterday I was so excited to have my copies and everything ready to go for the day.... Then I realized it was an A day(Algebra 2 and Support) not B day(Alg 1 and PreCalculus) so at least I have my plans for Tuesday as I scrambled to get a completely different set of lessons
Same. Same. Same.
Me tooo
🤦🏾♀️😂😂😂
I couldn’t of said it better!!!!
“I’m late, but I’m stopping at Starbucks.” 😂 I feel personally attacked!
SAME!!! I cant' even function without coffee!!!
And that`s the Rightest choice to take, cause the best-performing teacher is a happy one)) I am sometimes not fully prepared for my classes as I have sacrificed those lesson-planning hours to getting enough sleep, but I know that the better I feel, the more creative, enthusiastic and inspiring I am in the lesson)
Alternate title: Teachers at the start of the school year vs. Teachers at the end of the school year
You forgot when you print the papers and forget where you put them. OR you purposefully prepare for your lesson and carefully lay them out and then can’t find them. Yeah. That’s a thing.
That happened to me today. 😂
Yup I've done that.
Yes it is😄😄😄
Yesssss. I feel so seen. 😭 Always losing the papers I've printed.
I ALWAYS forget where I put them! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am constantly asking kids to "remind me" to do something. One can only leave so many sticky notes on one's computer screen. And the plastic bag doubling as a lunch box is 1000% accurate.
Hello how are you doing??
I don't think it's a bad thing. There are some things you can ask your students to do to help out. Depending on the age, they actually like doing it as they see it as being helpful.
Ummm I consider my plastic bag (lunch box) recycling. I'm not a hot mess, I'm doing my part for the oceans! I'm a total type B teacher btw
Type A except for the meetings. My mouth is shut bc I’m trying to go home! 🤣
I feel like we all want to be a type A but end up somewhere falling into the type B. Lol
So true! It also has something to do with the principal’s style of leadership.
agreed 👍
Very true. I've never seen a teacher with any time to do anything calmly. Too much work for even type As to be that organized and productive.
Yes, I was so a Type A all the way through my schooling. I simply cannot be that level of organized all the time without a nervous breakdown in teaching situations. That being said, a teacher who regularly shows up without their plans ready and is "winging it" is a bad teacher, regardless of personality type.
Not me, I stay away from being a type A person as much as possible.
I’m an itinerant sped teacher and I am 100% Type B! I am a total procrastinator and am a cluttered mess. I’m lucky if I’m showered and wearing clean clothes when I run out the door! 😂. But, I’m also extremely passionate and love my kiddos, so I’m still pretty awesome at my job. ❤️ Thanks for the videos, they keep me sane! Especially in the month of October, when Thanksgiving feels so very far away!
Hello soul sister!
Having worked SpEd, they relate better to someone who has to struggle as much as they do.
The luxury you must feel to dip when you need to dip out and try something else!!!! Goooooooo youuuuuuu!!
Maybe to keep it moving is what ivd always done wrong.
@@anniewarbucks9697 By itinerant I mean I travel to multiple schools within the same school district and serve students of all ages. But, yes, it is nice to get in my car, even for just a short commute between schools and decompress.
@@tracyfitch4873
Whatever it takes!!!!!!! ❤️🙏🏻 🧑🏫
I was type B solely because I refused to bring work home or stay till dinner time every day. My family had to come first outside of school time.
There is a reality there. The level of organization showed by the "Type A" teacher in this video is someone who basically works from sun up to sun down.
Same here. I have a teen, a toddler, and a husband. When I get home, I hit the ground running taking care of their needs. Maybe when my kids are grown I’ll have time to be a type A.
Preach it! In the first scene expresses Type A says, "Now I have 3 hours until school..." that means she's up at about 4 or 5am already working. Yuck.
Amen!
I was type A…..still criticized by admin. Never a kind word. I quit. Never teach in Indiana.
There’s a PHONE in your classroom? What magic is this? 😂
You don't have phones in your room?!
@@leannewestvang8181 my school doesn’t have phones in the classroom either- I have to borrow the phone in the principal’s office if I need to call a parent during school hours
Wow! That would suck if I didn't have a phone in my room!! That reminds me of what I've done when there isn't a phone --- Teach with windows & door open & Another yell loud enough for others to hear in the hallway if you have a problem with a student...
@@poetlover30 we have walkie talkies for communicating to staff within the school and an emergency button in the classroom that contacts the office for emergencies. It’s a small school.
Every public school in Hawaii has a phone in every classroom. It doubles as the school's PA system.
I'm a mix of both. I'll plan and print everything for the following week. Then forget where I put it.
Same!!
Lol aren't we all? Who doesn't want/strive to be type A but no one is perfect.
Same!! Like, why do we do that to ourselves lol. Happens everytime 😅
Me!
Omg! That was me!
Not a teacher, but I imagine type b is the one that retains her sanity. Type A is putting in a ton of extra hours it sounds like to keep on top of things.
Actually, some Type A people are so efficient they save time. I wasted more time as a type B teacher by always losing and looking for things, or staying up late to complete something last minute.
Yep...Type B is actually the sane one...in my opinion.
But if B learned why she’s a B and wanted to change, A could help her think through ways to improve. B will want to change when her pain of sometimes bad habits pushes her.
Yup. I've seen it. Type a can't handle changing 'the plan '
I’m primarily a Type A but have occasional bouts of Type B. I feel so much better about my teaching when I can plan but at the same time some of my greatest lessons came from a Type B situation!
I'm so Type B that randomly stop my lessons and tell my kids to help me find my cell phone.
Felt this in my soul… kids, where is my phone?
@@ShannonTBarge im like "everyone be quiet, im trying to find my phone and hear it vibrate" lolol actually they are so used to it. They know where my phone is everytime lolol. Or they will remind.me "ms your phone is *choose random place in classroom*
With all due respect, some of us have elements of both types. Although we function best in a less planned atmosphere, we like our major ducks in a row. Spontaneity and the ability to change and adjust on the fly makes for a rich and memorable learning experience.
Hello how are you doing hope you're safe?
Excuses!!!???😁😆😅
I’m literally a mixture of both. As are most of the teachers I work with lol
Same. My morning self is so the Type B displayed here, but I am a Type A in many other ways. I think I am just not a morning person, lol.
As a new teacher, I feel myself more so as a hybrid of Type A and B. Great videos and keep up the good work!! Binging on your videos (during my free time haha)
GO TIGERS!!!!
Same! When I started teaching, I was a bit of both. 🤣
I was like that as a new teacher. Now, I'm Type A. I wanted to be Type A (since I am naturally organized), but I was still learning what I needed to have ready and all that. You're probably going to end up Type A if you are already a hybrid.
I’ve been at this for 27 years. I’m an A on several things. Attendance still isn’t one of them.
Been at this almost ten years now, I also feel like a hybrid of Type A and B… I think we shall call ourselves Type O! (Just to keep up with the blood type letterings 😂)
“I’m late but I’m stopping at Starbucks!”
I am _not_ a teacher, but that is my mantra!😅😂😂
Type A in the classroom. Type B in staff meetings. It’s 8 o clock. I just got home from open house. So exhausted!
Type B teacher here. Thank God there are more, I thought I was the only one. My teacher's desk looks like a bomb went off.
Love the "Hot Mess" mug. 😁😆😂
I'm definitely type B!! I try to be type A, but it just never works for me. Everyday I get a call about Attendance, even when I set an alarm. Such a shame!
I'm a student but I like watching this for some reason 😂
I like watching the different types of teachers and categorizing my teachers. I’d be like: “ that’s totally Mr(insert name)”
I’m a type A about my daily lessons and student grades. When it comes to meetings and time consuming things that I don’t consider important, I’m definitely a type B. Is there even a type C? Twenty years in and it works for me.
Same. I selectively care about what is necessary to make things good for the students.
Type C = Combo
🤣🤣
Yep, this is me exactly. Choose your battles carefully, do a good job where you believe it's actually important, and forgive yourself for the rest. If others can't forgive it, that's on them.
This is me! Plus I have ADD. LOL
Type A teacher burns out in 1-2 years. Type B teacher somehow survives.
Hello how are you doing hope you're safe?
Definitely Type B with some Type A thrown in. 😂
“I’ll be late, but I’m still stopping at Starbucks.” How true! Coffee is a must as a teacher. 😀❤️
Lol. Oh my goodness I work with both types. Sometimes I am both types.
I'm definitely a type A at the beginning of each quarter and slowly slip into a type B by the end of each quarter. 😂
I'm mostly type A with some horrible type B days thrown in.
I can't be the only student watching these and learning so many new subtle habits about teachers
I would love to be the Type A teacher in an absolute perfect world, in my mind I am. I am mixture of both - and if you have a good one or two students who look after you, you’re winning!
Positive vibes to all of the teachers out there.
Agreed!! I have 2 little girls who “look after” me! Love them dearly; I don’t know what I’d do without them 🤦🏿♀️😳😂
🤦🏻 I was more of a Type B - didn’t always have my act together. But I did attempt to be organised.
I was a type A but it exhausted me so much that if you looked at me you saw a type B. The trick is to have your first period all set up BEFORE you leave the day before. So this way you can do a good job while unconscious.
I love the Type B teacher. She's a lot more fun.
My heart wants to be type A, but October has made me type B. All of the things are due and happening at once. Just make it until Friyay!
Hello how are you doing hope you're safe??
Sunday - Tuesday: Type A
Wednesday - Saturday: Type B
When I was teaching, I was a Type A, always prepared and thinking ahead...except for the days I was Type B, barely hanging on! 🤣
Hello how are you doing hope you're safe over there??
I'm total type A, but I don't ask questions in meetings!
Because we type A's are aware of time, and know how much is wasted in these meetings, so we don't want to waste more than is necessary.
Same!!
I don't think I'm that disorganized but definitely a Type B teacher. Attendance really struck home for me, lol!
When it comes to lessons and lesson planning, I am so type A. As for documentation, iep’s and so on… not so much.
I have the early morning of Type A but even when I’m organized … I falter toward Type B. I’m an INTJ so it pretty much makes sense.
You forgot to add the "behind the scenes brain" of the Type A person, where everything must be perfect and rechecked because it MUST be perfect. 😀
B!! Definitely B! Iv been type B as a student and now as a teacher. Didn’t know homework was due and now I never know when meetings are
I am definitely Type A, and proud of it. But over time, many teachers become Type B once we realize that the people above us, and many of the people around us (ungrateful parents and [their] students of kin) really don't give a damn about what we do for a living for them specifically and all the good that goes with it.
On a similar note: teachers also know exactly who are our everyday Type A and Type B students and parents!!
It doesn't matter if Im an A or B type teacher, according to my contract I would earn the same amount being either one. The more I teach the more I realize there is no monetary reward for being super organized or going above and beyond. Whatever that means.
I feel the opposite - I started Type B, because as a student, I was able to get away with being cluttered/disorganized. I am proud of the 10 years it has taken me to develop "Type A" habits. I am naturally Type B, but when it comes to my job, I appear like a Type A now in terms of day-to-day work. I have a cluttered desk, but I am on time and have my plans ready the night before and a flexible vision for the month. I find that being overly Type A (ie planning out explicit plans several months ahead) is not good for adjusting curricula to students needs!
Also, I don't teach for the money, but I wouldn't teach for free. It feels good to be organized and effective, even if the system isn't always set up to reward it.
@@fionarose4536 Same here, wouldn't teach for free either.
Being type A comes at a cost: lack of sleep and social life.
I needed this lol. I'm a little of both right now.
I agree. Sometimes I turn things in so early. Other times it’s like when was that due? Sometimes technology can let you down.😫
According to this I am mostly Type A, but I usually forget if something is already printed (we can give the printing order from home and gather it when we get to school) and I sometimes forget where I put it (I use a shallow drawer organizer and until all drawers are labeled I tend to lose things)
Hello how are you doing hope you're safe over there?
@@pollackmorgan3149 You are so sweet for asking! I live in Spain so suuuper safe COVID wise and in other respects too! The rest of Europe is less than safe right now, though. What about you? Sending you good wishes

Love the two 2 different mugs😊
I have the intentions of a Type A, but more often then not wind up more as a Type B.
One of your best!
I feel like I am a mix of both. I start the week as A, and by midweek I become B lol
Hello how are you doing hope you're safe over there?
@@pollackmorgan3149 I’m well how are you?
@@nas10iris I'm doing great where are you from if I may ask?
Proud to have trained myself into being a reasonable version of Type A.
So much less stressful and I can have a life.
I definitely like my plans laid out and being prepared for the students I need to teach. However, in other ways I am a Type B, such as being half focused during a staff meeting and not sweating small stuff. I'll never be a morning person, haha.
100% type B. It's one of the reasons why I only lasted 10 years in the public school system. 🤣 Now I teach preschool in my home, and it's a much better fit for my scatter-brained-ness. 😁
I admire all the type A and type B teachers who are still out there working hard and doing your best with all the challenges you face each day. Ya'll are amazing!
I'm totally the same way! That's why I became a tutor. :)
"Scatter-brained-ness" or ADHD? Which is, of course, is only a "disorder" when society is so overscheduled that it is impossible to allow your brain to do what it is good at.
Funnily, I was a hard type A, which is why I only lasted three years in the public school system! Can you imagine keeping up with of the demands of administration and the district, planning, grading, analysis, documentation for an entire career?! I was literally driving myself mad.
@@gigi_enItalie Analysis of what??
This was HILARIOUS!!! 😂 😂😂
I love your videos
I missed the page for each student. I am dying right now.
I remember teaching PreK and the secretary calling me to do attendance quite often.
Ha. I have these little bin drawer things. I have two of them stacked under a table near my desk. Each one has a label that's a different color. There are 6 drawers. One for absent work, one for Monday, one for Tuesday, one for Wednesday, etc. I print the stuff off two days in advance so I don't have to worry about it. On Wednesday, I almost panicked because I hadn't printed off Friday's stuff. So, I quickly went and did that.
I do sometimes project the work or write it on a board for them to copy. It's because they control how many copies or print-outs we can make. So, I'm paranoid I'll hit the max. That's why I sometimes do that. I do have a printer in my room. I have to buy ink for it. The rule is, we can keep the printers until they run out of ink. The school is out of ink, so I purchase my own since having a printer in the room is better than walking to the other side of the floor I'm on to get something printed if I need an extra. Or if I run out of copies (which has happened). I also buy my own paper for the printer in the classroom.
I hate how controlling it is. They don't like the personal printers because the ink is more expensive and they can't limit how much we can use it. We have sign-in codes for the copiers (that are also the printers). I think part of that is to make sure we don't print stuff that isn't work-related. I never really have to print non-work related stuff. I have a printer at home for that. It's so controlling. There's no trust at all. No money either. I buy refurbished ink to save money. So far, it's worked. I'm on my third cartridge. I have one spare left. They usually last about a year. Edit: Oh, and the copiers go down sometimes, but the personal printers don't. If they go down, you're screwed unless you still have a printer in your room with ink.
My relative is in her 30th Year and retiring in May 2022. Watching her now is straight epic.
Oh my goodness the accuracy!! Definitely type B 😂😂
OMG!!!! I’m such a Type B!!!! I blame it on my ADHD (and stress, lack of sleep, ever changing policies, you know….the profession in general 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣)
I guess I’m 100% type b 😂 that attendance is me every single day lol
Hello how are you doing hope you're safe?
I had a classroom job labeled Attendance Keeper (doubled as the Time Keeper). Their job was to raise their hand to remind me that I didn’t do Attendance if I ignored the bell XD Which was every day.
A teacher is the type of teacher we want to be-B teacher is the teacher we are. I’m ok with that
I am a bit of both, AB TEACHER! 5 preps will do that to you…
I think you missed the connection piece. Some B teachers really connect with their students and some A’s struggle with helping students who don’t fit in the box that they want them to.
I worked as an office aide during first period my senior year. Part of my duties were to walk the school and get the attendance sheets that the teachers would clip outside the classroom door. It was always the same 5 or so teachers that I needed to knock on the door and remind them about the attendance sheets.
God bless those “someone remind me” teachers, lol
I feel personally attacked.🤣
awesome channel
I forgot attendance for all of my 4 periods yesterday😭🥺
Thank God I remembered who was there because of assigned seating
Been there - done that as a sub
I am so Type A. It’s not even an exaggeration. I have everything laid out for the next week. I am already planned for next year and have my copies done for the first 3 weeks. I am that person in the meeting. But, in my defense, the more organized you are, the more clear the student expectations are and they tend to do better.
Yes! This, me, too!
Type B teacher! 🙋🏼♀️
One of these days I’m going to show up looking like a Tyoe A and my students won’t know what’s happening.
Hello how are you doing hope you're safe over there?
I’m a typeA but I have notes written to keep me that way. My break time notes start “go to the bathroom NOW” and then list exactly what I need to check on. 😆. So apparently I’m a type A note writer who knows I’ll be type B as soon as I get a chance to sit down. 🤪
Solid B+.
I have a teacher reminder as a class job, lol.
Type B teacher here so efficient and effective by employing type A strategies every other week. My implementation of multidisciplinary, multimodal, experiential learning is high quality but messy 😂
I straddle that Type A and B line hard
I was a procrastinating student, I'm now a procrastinating teacher
As a Type A teacher, watching Type B chaos-pack their bag gave me anxiety.
Lol I know what it’s like to pack lunch like Type B teacher.
Hello how are you doing hope you're safe?
Here's the thing....
I already knew I was a Type A personality when I took psych 101 back in the day 🤣.
I'm tripping because I'm now realizing why my husband's antics bug me so much- he's definitely Type B 😝.
Im a good mix of type A and Type B. I start my report card data three weeks in advance, I am always rushing out the door even though I wake up an hour before I need to leave, I usually remember to make copies but sometimes I have those days, and my kiddos are doing just fine!
Hello how are you doing hope you're safe over there??
Too real. Way too real
I think we all start off as A but end up as B especially in the spring cause we're over it. LOL 😂
One thing about the year of online teaching that we all did is that it allowed us to almost eliminate the need for making copies. Assignments are posted on the online platform and the kids complete it and turn it in on their computer. No more lost copies! 😂
This is brilliant… and triggering! I’m Type A in theory and Type B in practice… it’s like anxietyville every session (youth worker here, not a teacher but same typologies I think)
I am totally a type b person and i love type b teachers we just get each other so well they are my best friends as a 12 yr olf
When you are Type A in school and Type B in life and being Type A in school gives you a lot of anxiety.
It'd be funny if for type b attendance she said "if you're not here, raise your hand"
Type A for me. I literally had my whole year planned on calendars before the school year started.
I am a mix 😁 I print everything out but I don't have it organized after 😅
Im a healthcare provider and I don’t even bother packing a lunch anymore because I know I won’t have time for one
I try so hard to be type A but I’m type b through and through. at least the students appreciate the chaos😂
I start the year as a type A and by the 2nd month or so am already mutating to type B XD
I love her dress
Hello how are you doing hope you're safe over there??
I’m a combination of both and pass out on the weekends 😊
My teacher is a mix
