my interpretation is different for the lyrics and the video.
Video: V is loney and when you're lonely it feels like everyone around you has that thing that you're missing. Also it could as an idol everyone is happy when he's alone but he feels unhappy and is it ends badly But if he was to take his chance to find that missing thing then the everything will go bad particularly Army or public general will start fighting amongst themselves half of us on his side and the other delusional half who thinks they own him. It was still in badly but he would be happy. But in the end he knows the reality is you have to be happy with yourself first

Bts making so much symbolic music and mvs really makes some armys go kind of crazy.. lmao really think that sometimes the boys just release things that can be taken at face value.. lyrics are simply about being friends with someone but there’s something there and you act like more than just friends and wanting to be more therefore putting the end in friends to be together. In terms of the video I think that it’s just that when you’re alone it feels like everyone around you is happy and when you’re happy you’re in your own little bubble. Either way his future/outcome didn’t change but whereas he felt like no one cared the first time at least when he got hit the second time one person cared and he was happy. Hence why he was smiling even though he was dying. The end scene.. love yourself? Or in the end you only have yourself? it’s still fun to see people try to dissect and explain every little thing tho.. lol

In my opinion the most emotional one is Jungkook, when things hurt the other members especially, and I'm sure he is the most homesick. I've seen everyone of them cry (making it more okay for men to cry everywhere. They've all cried together when things got tough. But JK is really sensitive. They've all had internal "dark" periods too. You would be surprised. To me, Suga has had the toughest time on the inside, with depression and social anxiety, and PTSD. he had a shell around him that was broken down by the love of his brothers, outside help, and he poured himself into music. You've seen Agust D's trilogy, and Amygdala. It's all about expressing his internal real self (no matter what bookish theories says). V handles things with humor, quirky humor. The only time I remember seeing him cry was when his grandmother died.

this video is exactly the sort of thing we'd expect from our Taehyung, I love it. Tae is really eccentric and artsy, and well... straight up weird (I mean that with the utmost fondness). The other members call him "4-D," which in korean slang, is someone who is like, in a different world. He has his own "taetae language." He sometimes says the most off-the-wall shit with a totally straight face. His preferred style of clothing is 200-year-old victorian vampire who accidentally became a kpop idol and iust went with it. He hates to wear shoes and yeets them at any opportunity, he pretends to chew gum when he's not... he talks to invisible friends that he calls angels... yeah. weird. This video is so him. 😊
As for kpop idols dating, they absolutely do--especially the older ones like the members of BTS. They just don't usually talk about it because some possessive fans become extremely upset. (EDIT: or weird shippers... just look at the person replying below, lol). Still, it sometimes gets exposed. In the two years leading up to Tae's enlistment, it was pretty clear that he was dating Jennie from Blackpink... there were a ton of leaked photos and also a video taken by paparazzi in Paris, of V and Jennie taking a walk together while holding hands... while their managers and bodyguards trailed a little ways behind. Right before V's enlistment, Korean media reported that they broke up, which is pretty normal in Korea when guys join the military. (Generally, if a girl waits around for two years for her man to get done serving, it means they are planning to get married afterwards).
All that said, I don't think this song is autobiographical. None of the songs on V's album were either, because he didn't write them. He chose songs that he vibed with from the catalogues of outside songwriters... so the lyrics probably aren't going to reveal anything specific about his own life. Still, it's a cute little bop!

And even if Tae WAS gay, it would never be openly. In Korea's conservative culture, ESPECIALLY in the military where V is currently serving (and where homosexuality is literally illegal), it's not safe. To come out as gay would put both his life and his career at risk. And yet here you are, spamming comment sections with blatant lies because you fantasize about two members being together. I would think, if you ACTUALLY supported them, you'd want any secret relationship to stay safely hidden.

The more emotional one is probably Jungkook. It's speculated that V is dating Jennie from Blackpink, but it's not been confirmed nor denied by either, although there are pics out there.
About covid: Jimin's album Face is about how he felt during covid time
The pics are cosplayers taken by paparazzi and photoshopped. Same with Jeju Island. V has denied it. Jennie has not because BP is hanging on to BTS's coattails. It's just ugly gossip. Anything BTS does will be kept completely quiet for now because 1. scandals could ruin their career, 2. and, for their safety and their families. It's not like the US where couples divorce, marry again, and again.
