I'm from Brazil. Most of the people in the video are ordinary Brazilians who were trying to see him at the time.
The musicians playing the drums are from a local and traditional group called "Olodum".
To this day, Michael Jackson is highly respected around here.

The video was shot in Rio de Janeiro and Bahia , there’s a statue of Michael in favela Santa Marta (Rio) where he recorded some parts , the other parts were recorded in pelourinho (Bahia)

I prefer the Prison Version of this song, mainly because it features the uncensored lyrics. But either way, its still a very powerful song about fighting against racial injustice and protecting the innocent, regardless of where they come from.
You should definitely react to stranger in Moscow and Man in the mirror ( Moonwalker version ) 🙌🏼 And yes, Michael had great connections with Governments from all over the world - including Russia, which the United States did not like. He was way 2 powerful for the higher powers that control their Countries and targeted himself by speaking out YET - spoke out without caring. They Don't really Care About Us is about his several trials and lawsuits. He really filmed it in Brazil in the Favelas (slums) He is a God down there so of course they loved him. It is not the original version. The original is also very powerful and takes place in a prison. Both are very good

Hello there Irina, I don't know when you'll see this comment but you are correct. Michael Jackson's lyrics do infact resonate in today's world. The best example of this exact song is the case of Tate brothers and it resembles every single lyrics into what the events are. And if you dig deeper, which I highly suggest you to, you'll indeed find out that everything until now, the bush fires, the pandemic, COVID-19 is all man made and done to keep the public under control (the plan of matrix). Hence, the lyrics, "They don't care about us". The governments are owned by the largest lenders from banks in the world, to give out some names, Rotschild family. Corps control governments, they've already taken the land and now they're after our souls and lives.

the group with drums are olodum (rithym from a specific part of Brazil, Bahia) players, they were invited to the clip. Some people like the ladies that huge him and the people watching were just fans, part of the video was recorded on Salvador (Bahia's capital) and on Rio de Janeiro (that for some weird reason is the name of the state and capital). The original one happen in prison, have not the sound of drums and at the start is not spoken in portuguese.

Hi, I guess someone already answer to your question but yes, there is an original version (whithout Olodum) which is the one released on the Album: HIStory Past, Present and Future - Book 1. Also this original song is the one used on the Prison´s Version Video recorded by the same director Spike Lee and was censored in the United States claiming it was too violent (Michael was just showing the truth)

As much as I love this song and the video, the prison version of the short film drives the short message of the song just a little better. How some governments don't care about their people in the least and are quick to persecute innocent people just to fill a quota.
