    So let's talk!!
    1. Which bond treatment do you like best?
    2. Does the street cred of Olaplex make you more prone to buy it than CurlSmith?
    3. Do you think these bond treatments have made a difference on my heat damaged Natural hair?

      The Curlsmith definitely gave more your hair more elasticity. My hair is also heat damaged and I have tried Olaplex. Olaplex definitely works after u wash it out but that Curlsmith looks like it starts working fr jump. I really wanted to see someone with actual damage try these products out. Will be adding that bond salve to my cart. I think the protein in the salve gave it that boost. Ur wash an go looks amazing...I'm striving to have my hair look like that again

    Olaplex is a molecular bond builder that works from the inside out, Curlsmith is a protein bonder that coats the strands. So while Curlsmith will give you definition right away, it isn't changing anything on the inside of the hair, just making it look better. Olaplex will over time fix the damage, not just stick the damaged strands together. I'd say use Olaplex first - then go on top with Curlsmith if you like - but skipping the Olaplex would be a mistake; think of your hair like your body - Olaplex is a workout routine, Curlsmith is good shapewear.

      Very mixed information, a lady on CZcams said something of the same thing you said. Except she said Curlsmith works inside to strengthen your bond. Which one is it???đŸ˜©

    • @woman4women
      @woman4women Pƙed rokem +6

      @@Nominaze Both products have the same objective and both repair broken bonds, they just achieve it in a different way. Olaplex No. 3 has a patented ingredient that works on a molecular level, whereas Curlsmith contains natural protein ingredients to strengthen.
      Because Bond Curl is a protein treatment, there is a risk of protein overload if you use it too frequently and/or leave it on too long. Olaplex you can use 2-3 times per week.

    Because of the way Olaplex is designed I find it works best on freshly washed (clarified) hair. It benefits from no barrier between the product and the hair. It also applies better on clean hair (saving $$$). I saw much better results this way using 0 and 3 .
    I think the damp hair guideline is more helpful for straight haired folks who probably use way less (or no) product in their hair.
    I use protein modestly in all parts of my routine (except styling) and so I don't see the benefit of protein pre poo unless there is serious damage or gummy hair. But your hair looked great đŸ‘đŸœyou got the healthiest looking damaged hair ever lol

    • @RachelAdina
      @RachelAdina  Pƙed 3 lety +18

      Both products are bond builders the difference between Olaplex and Curlsmith is that Curlsmith has more proteins in it than Olaplex I also believe that Curlsmith Added more ingredients to help with moisture and slip. Olaplex builds inside out that why there no drastic results right away and olaplex has plant base protein you wouldn’t get protein overload you can even leave it over night.. I liked the curl smith when I didn’t have heat damage but it did nothing for bond building for me when I tried it when I got heat damage

    I’ve loved Olaplex since it was salon only.

    I cannot use Olaplex, because it contains an ingredient which is a strong allergen for me. The whole head itches and dehydrates the hair. You say Curlsmith is a viable alternative?

      I can totally relate there are some products my hair simply hates. I think Curlsmith rehab salve is a great alternative. Its a lot more gentle and because it’s mostly natural (if not all natural) it’s better overall.

    I use olaplex but remember it's not a conditioner. So after I shampoo it out as per insrructions, i also deep condition weekly.

    I don't think this is a good comparaison of the products, you should try to oppose the curlsmith bond curl with the olaplex 4-in-one moisture mask (or the no 8), this mask is more moisturizing and has a better slip, but the video was good on the overall 👍

      Comparing this product to Olaplex 8 would make a great video! Thank you for the recommendation. Unfortunately Olaplex 8 came out after this video was created but now that it’s out I’ll probably try to do a video comparing the two.
