Haha I have a 2018. Best vehicle I have ever owned.
The metal end on the fob is the actual key. Can’t really get rid of that part.
And here in Canada, our Ridgelines have:
    -cooled seats
    -power folding mirrors
    -heated rear seats
    -rear climate control panel
    -standard CD player
    -mirror LED turn signals
    -heated windshield

Smoothest ride of any vehicle under $40K that I have ever owned. Nice choice, Mike!
Unibody and rear coil springs are the real deal. On higher trim levels: Remember the free online updates from Garmin for GPS, via a USB stick.

traded my 2018 RTL-T in for a 2020 RTL 2 weeks ago. First thing missing I noticed was the LED daytime running lights are no longer there. They appear to be there but not there. Like the push button shift but it seems to shift hard. Moonroof and rear power window is nice. Wheel accents went from dark grey to black. White was cream-like white on 2018 and more white on 2020. Added another K&N Air Filter and tinted all the windows 5% to upset law enforcement here in CA, really to keep it cool, safety glass, and so no one can see in just in case I forget something valuable inside. Considering an LED upgrade and bed rack for bikes and gear. Rides like a dream in LA traffic and on mountain roads, great in heavy rain, light rain and muddy dirt roads, and in snow.

I own a 2010 F150, moving to a mid-sized truck, test drove Ridgeline and Frontier Honda hands down best more room and a better ride. Waiting for the 2024 Ridgeline update maybe we can get ventilated seats on the RTLE for the southern buyers. Thanks for all your informative youtube reviews big help.

I bought the twin in dark interior, without electric seats, but I’m the only driver, so no adjusting. Got the 2020 Sport last month, because my Dodge Durango AWD, was 15 years old. It really held up well, but only had 58,000 miles on it, but looked showroom new. Had V8, for towing my little trailer, and for snow storms. 15-17 MPG, SO we drove our Prius, most of the time. I looked for a new truck, and was favoring a Toyota, since I liked my dealership so well, but looked into a Colorado also. I didn’t even realize Honda made a pickup, since I wasn’t in the market after buy my 2005 Dodge. I spent hours comparing pickups, and ran across the Honda. I didn’t think I needed an extended cab with poor roominess in the rear, and I don’t need a long bed or Off Road truck. I needed something easy to get in and out of, for me and my wife. She broke a bone in her foot falling down, and had to wear a boot and cane. I bought my truck on the internet, because of COVID-19, and sealed the deal at the Dealership! I was surprised by getting truck that was beyond my expectations! And it still impresses me every time I drive it! Your video is very informative for a new owner, and I thank you, and subscribed! 👍🏻

Just got a 2020 RTL, and I was looking for some videos on it (found yours). Grats on your purchase! This is my 3rd Honda myself (previously owned a 2000 Accord coupe, and a 2005 Accord coupe).
Three of my local dealerships couldn't locate an RTL-E or a Black Edition, so I had to settle for the RTL. Same exterior color as yours, but with the black interior. I really sacrificed on the 580 watt sound system with truck bed audio, the truck bed power outlet, and the auto-switching high beams/low beams. But now even the additional interior ambient lighting I wish I had.
I agree with you in that the RTL is a very "dark" vehicle (not enough lighting). And no vanity lights on the driver and passenger side sun visors is a real drag (more so for my passenger). But as for the ride of this truck, it's absolutely amazing. I'm like you in that I needed something to haul boxes home from the home improvement store, but I also have a quad I need to tow around. The Ridgeline is perfect for those needs.
I'll be totally overhauling the sound system in it (just like I did with my 05 Accord), so I won't miss the 580 watt sound system of the RTL-E. But I still wish my local dealers could have located the RTL-E for the additional lighting. I'm also adding some options to it (trunk organizer, all weather plastic mats, under-seat storage system, running boards, auto-dimming rear view mirror, and the outdoor package which includes the bed cover).
All in all, I'm very happy with the Ridgeline, as I'm sure you are also. Thanks for sharing your video.

The paddle shifters are really there for towing as opposed to speed.

  • @mowcowbell
    @mowcowbell Před 3 lety +1

That seam between the bed and rear door serves another purpose. Divides that huge section of steel to make replacement if damaged much less expensive. The bed is so easy to reach over to stash items in the bed compared to the giant 1/2 ton trucks on the market today. The under floor storage in the bed is something not available on any other truck.
I would have gone with aftermarket all weather mats that cover the driver's side dead pedal. I've found the steering wheel volume control easy to use and I don't have to take my eyes off the road to adjust radio volume.

That's a sweet truck brother. The Ridgeline is probably going to be my next new vehicle in a year or two. That engine isn't even close to being broken in, I'd wait until you've got at least 5k miles before I'd start taking the mileage seriously (unless it's way off).

Love this truck mike, but there are a couple things that make me not want to pull the trigger when my current lease is up.
    1. the lack of the volume knob
    2. The push button gear box
    3. I wish they would refresh the front end to make it different from the pilot.
All these are probably minor complaints to what I think is the best mid size truck out there.

Same thing I would like to see as well as a bit more ground clearance. Been driving large trucks for decades. Don't hall enough to justify a full size truck anymore. A few trips to home improvement stores and to get fuel for the mowers. Looking favorably at one of these next time - 2022 model??

I have the same RTL but 2019 with 6 speed and no start/stop in FWD as I do not tow anything and live in Florence. So basically no snow to deal with and just an hour to Myrtle Beach. I get 26-28mpg on purely highway drive at 70mph. 23-24mpg city drive. It is a great comfortable vehicle on long drives to Florida and back. Coming from honda odyssey this is comparable ride quality. My backseat passenger has ample leg room not cramped on a long trip. Overall Im glad I bought the ridgeline FWD so I do not have to change rear differential fluid and transfer case fluid. Saved me some money there. I just have to do regular oil change and drive around enjoying the NART (Not A Real Truck). LoL.

(www.walmart.com/ip/onn-Personal-CD-Player-with-FM-Radio/208875651 ) This one on Amazon has Bluetooth ( www.amazon.com/Portable-Bluetooth-Rechargeable-Anti-Shock-Protection/dp/B07XY9GX3W/ref=asc_df_B07XY9GX3W/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=344041848206&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16699592613885192460&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010769&hvtargid=pla-854301065748&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=69534739416&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=344041848206&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16699592613885192460&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010769&hvtargid=pla-854301065748 )

I believe I would take the tire out when hauling, if I was worried, and put it behind my seat! Plenty of room for two or more tires there!

@@hans-jurgenwiegand7465 - if you’re towing - and get a flat - you can’t use a donut tire - so you’ll need to carry a full size spare - and sadly it will not fit in the spot where the donut tire is presently (or so I’m told) - to me a design fault (just a minor one).

Are your electronic "features" as crappy as mine? I have a 2020 Ridgeline as well. Snatchy throttle, weird delay in the cruise control, wallowing LKAS, and on and on. Of course, the dealer says "the truck functions as intended." Shame.

    • @MikesCarInfo

Yes. If this vehicle wasn't so unique and useful for my specific needs I would get something different. It is like they are trying to intentionally annoy the user with inconsistent refinement and lack of BASIC features.
