Madhouse was a brilliant decision for this adaptation, they really brought the world to life with their beautiful animation.
what are you talking about, they did overlord you are aware of this right :) also did opm 1 and ngnl but overlord gets rid of those good ones. Looks to me like they cut themselfs a big piece of the mushoku tensei animation

Overall it's not really sad but the first episode isn't gonna hold back
This might not be for everyone, but those who enjoy bittersweet meaningful kinda sad animes will love it.

If anyone liked Mushishi, Natsume Yujinchou or Violet Evergarden, you will love this. It has a similar vibe but also a very heavy fantasy element with relatively good action.

While i agree on mushishi and NATSUME yujinchou 100% since both are mystichal, have that mature seisen vibe. They teach u a lesson ... And they are melancholic...and while i agree Violet is melancholic the vibes on Violet Match more the vibes on the anime of the piano boy and blond girl music anime. They both tried to make You cry as hard as they can by pushing a sad narrative .... But NATSUME , mushishi and freiren does not, is that we are just living vibe

How can a trailer make me feel nostalgic for a fellowship of characters I'm yet to even meet....how can it tug on my heart with such a strong foreboding sense of loss and love, sadness amidst the beauty they experience in the world they belong to...how do I already want to cry tears of joy and pain and then take one long satisfying breath knowing that watching it was worth every second as if I can see how it'll end....how was all that achieved in less than two minutes of a trailer❤🥲

This has the feel of Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms, another heartbreaking story about an immortal who loves a mortal -in that case, a girl who raises a human child and must watch him age and die.
Damn, I had that one on my watch list for forever, didn't have the heart for it. Managed to avoid spoilers though until now. Made the mistake of watching Plastic Memories once, maybe 6 or 7 years ago and never recovered. This one I imagine will be a tough one as well.
@@FromDkWithLove it's really good, story is touching and graphics are beautiful. Also loved the aversion of classix trope, when instead of falling in love with mortal human, the girl instead became his mother. After watching it I really wanted to go see my mom
Maquia feels more uplifting than many stories that deal with life and death, because one of its ideas is to continue making new friends and loved ones, immortal or not. It’s an emotionally heavy way to share a Mother’s Day, tho’.

That feeling you get when you finally finish a video game you really like, watching the credits roll, and knowing it’ll be a long time before you experience it’s like again. Now take that feeling and make it into a movie.
I actually cried just from this trailer, I can't wait to see it. I know it will be so depressing and many more tears will be shed, but it's also gonna be beautiful and a experience.

This is why Japanese voice actors are so amazing. The sorrow in her voice just brings me to tears. A lot of Dubs lose this parts of the art form.

I finally started it last night having not watched the trailer and oh boy, let me tell you…I was BLUBBERING from about 5 minutes into episode 1 to the very end and episode 2 as well. I’m up to episode 5 and almost every single episode has had me in tears to some degree. This one is truly, truly special. It feels like Spice and Wolf meets Lord of the Rings. It’s calm and quiet, emotional and melancholy, bittersweet, serene, adventurous, funny, hopeful, and grand. I really don’t know how to describe it properly, it’s so many things, And what really brings it all together are the beautiful landscapes and ESPECIALLY the OST. The music itself make me what to cry, it is BEYOND beautiful. THIS is anime of the year. I know everyone wants to say JJK because of the animation, and don’t get me wrong, the animation is incredible, but this anime, this one, is just something truly special. When it’s all said and done, this one is going to be one of those once in a lifetime masterpieces that goes down in history like Attack On Titan. Madhouse, you have done an unbelievable job at bring this to life. If any of you haven’t watched it yet, I IMPLORE you to do so. It will bring tears to your eyes but not in necessarily a sad way. The life of an “immortal” being is a very lonely one, but one filled with lots and lots of good memories.
crying in 5 minutes of an episode? Ok, imma try this out. This is not my genre of anime. After reading all these comments about being in tears in every episode, i feel like seeing what the buzz is. The last time i cried was during the last season of Demon Slayer. I need to be invested into characters, before being able to achieve any form of sadness and tears. I'll come back to you later.

I slept on this anime for a while and i finally watched it yesterday i binged all 22 eps that are currently out its the perfect mix of sadness melancholy and hope it makes me want to go on a journey and revisit old friends this might make it into my top 5

Animation is beautiful is enough to get me into it... However Plot also seems really good and unique it's basically " you know that one elf in the heros party well.... what happens to them afterwards since their life is so long..." It's very different but at the same time something you've always wondered about... can't wait...
Get ready for some serious dead pan comedy, awesome characters, questioning time and life, enjoying the moment and amazing fights! This is easily one of my top picks for a anime adaptation, but it needs to be perfectly executed! Cant wait for the release!
Dude, the person that composed and directed the music in this PV and the series overall for that matter, really deserves all the appreciation in the world. It is incredible how well it fits into the narrative, making it so impactful and trascending. Not to mention the quality of animation, of course. This is how an animated fantasy story should be presented. A story after journey's end, I am glad someone finally decided to animate that which is not typically shown in a battle vs demon king fable.

Fieren is absoluty insane. i can't explain my feeling but there are only 7 episodes so far but this story has already touched me deeply.
The animation is splendid, the story unfolds slowly, you take your time, it's very pleasant, at last a quality anime.

I don't think I will ever get tired of anime. I thought it would happen eventually, but man - this year alone is so great with all of it's shows and my lineup for 2024 slowly gets bigger too. I've heard amazing things about Frieren and I think I will read it eventually, but I feel such good vibes from this trailer alone. What a time to be alive after all. What a time.
Yeah, my parents thought that I needed to “grow up” and quit watching cartoons and playing card games when I hit high school. Never could let any of that go, and now at 29, I’ve learned that that “kid stuff” is essential for bearing the daily grind that is adulting. Don’t let people talk you out of your hobbies kids! If you love it, and it’s not hurting yourself or anyone else, then nobody has a right to say anything against it!

Considering the studio and director, how breathtaking this trailer already is, the soundtrack being made by the same person who made the Violet Evergarden soundtrack and the fact that the first episode will be a 2 hour long special, I have extremely high hopes for this adaptation.

Not silly at all. I think the level of detail they've been able to condense in each of the episodes. The anime has been amazing! It's a really balanced anime. It's heartfelt when it's supposed to be, but when there's action, they don't play around either.
Very curious about this one. Seems like a pretty atmospheric fantasy world at the very least.

I always wanted to see a story like this: lives after the main conflict is done.
I'm starting to dread the idea of one of my favorite mangas getting an anime adaptation, because whenever one of the mangas I'm currently reading gets one the updates drag to a crawl. Souso no Freiren used to get a new chapter every tuesday, but nowadays we're lucky if we get 1 a month (Last chapter came out a month and a half ago, and the previous one came 2 months before that one, and before that the series was practically on hiatus for months).
Well freiren went onnhiatus that time and i was actually glad that was only a 2 months hiatus.... You have no idea HOW i get scared of that word... D gray man, and hunterxhunter gave me ptsd 😅
Now yeah has been 3 weeks since last update ... Lets SEE , it was weekly AND MAKE ME SO HAPPY, every WEEK at read on sundays, cuz that was the way i wanted to end My WEEK hahahahaahaha
Shouldn't it be the other way round? The anime makes people want to read the source material, and that should make the updates/translation be more regular no? At least that's what I've seen before
interesting, frieren is a german verb that means 1) to feel cold and 2) to freeze - that fact and the trailer are hinting at a bittersweet story with lots of tears - I can't wait ;D
I cried when I read when this was announced. This story is wholesome, funny, but extremely bittersweet. I hope they cover the goddess statue arc.

Oh my god, I just started watching it right now, on episode 6 already. The ost’s are all so BEAUTIFUL, and I love the characters. Feels so like… sad I guess.. I don’t know how to put it exactly but it’s definitely a smile with tears.
The other trailer from Crunchyroll is longer and has more action, but after watching the series, this trailer hits much harder. The show is wonderful.

The price of having a long lifespan like an elf in this is sad. For them, time passes by without blinking while their other friends, born with shorter lifespan pass away quickly . The loneliness she must have after they all vanished from her life must be painful
While that is true, she does make more friends along the way. Which I think is an important lesson.
I think this Anime will be great. The topic has so much potential, this "after the war" scenario paired with the fantasy settings that (probably) Elfs live so much longer.

Just started this series (and almost done) - awesome. Deserves every accolade received.
I have watched over 100+ animes, but this one stands out! Iy is just another hero/party mmo anime,but the story and how it's told , this calm and interesting flow is something else. It is becoming my favorite anime this year and it makes you feel nostalgic and calm. ITS A MASTERPIECE!
It feels weird having read the light novel before the anime.
That being said, the animation looks stunning.

Oh my god I'm loving this show. I'm buying the blurays if they ever come out. Best thing I've seen in years when it come to a tv series. I rank right up there with some of the great anime movies we've gotten over the years like paprika or some studio ghibli films.
