From what I got the zombies represent all the other guys that are “trynna get in her coop” they are ALL zombies because they are all the SAME. They want her for her body and what she has to offer rather than what she is and her love. That’s why “her dude” became a zombie too because once he got what he wanted he became like everybody else. It’s not who she thought. Yet she’s still in love with the idea of her perfect guy but perfect love like that is in the past which and in Dojas mind no longer a reality which is represented by the ATOMIC BOMB blowing up as it is a common symbol of the past. (Similar to why Doja opened up her song with the sample of “Put your head on my shoulder” as that is how old school love was represented by men in the past whereas now it’s just a sexual desire)
This song was about her ex boyfriend. Her relationship was so focused on sex and they didn’t get to know each other and eventually the guy lost interest and went with another girl.

Message of the video: Doja becomes infatuated with a man (taxi driver) who's already going places. They end up crossing paths later (zombie scene) but by then she's already been beaten down in the past relationships (her on the hood of the taxi). She has many suitors but he's the only one who has the balls to step up to the plate vs watching her hurt. When she realized how important it is to her she traps him in her web not wanting to go back to the past hurt. She ends up trapping herself in the web. She becomes obsessed with the idea of him vs finding love within him & all she's left with is the idea of him (wax shell man). They were never destined to be together in the first place cause a taxi driver job is to drop u off to your destination & u never see them again. Now she's back at the beginning.
I think each character represents different fantasy versions of women that men have. For instance, the mannequin represents women as dolls to be played (think dolls), the spider - representing women as "the succubus." The woman on the car represents women bringing out "the monster" in men (perhaps beauty and the beast influenced), the woman in the nuclear test site represents the traditional woman of the nuclear era. Lastly, the character in the car is the "reality", women who are professional, independent, not afraid to speak their minds, and on equal footing with or higher than men. My pop psychology analysis.
The video was interesting. It reminded me of the Red Light District in Germany where prostitution is legal and the prostitutes are literally showcased in storefront displays with red lighting. Men become entranced by her. There is an "explosion" and she is no longer in the display, she seduces the taxi driver and she catches him in her web like a black widow spider and he becomes stuck so to say. I found it interesting that then it depicts her as a wife perhaps (?) obsessed with him and jealous of anyone else who attempts to take him away but due to their lust for each other and nothing else, she couldn't grow as a person (see lyrics where she said this), but then, he is no longer real, just a shell of a man, a mannequin which is how she started. It ends with her no longer being in that store display and in the back of the taxi interrupting his fantasy and saying she has somewhere to get to. I'm wondering if this is somehow saying she used him to get out from that display (out of her lifeless situation) to get elsewhere. It became "dark" as some relationships can be when it is unhealthy. I thought it was a great video. It showcased her versatility as a singer, rapper and story teller. I loved the R&B style to it, reminds me of some 90s R&B songs (which is what I listened to in my late teens/early 20s with a great hard beat. ☺️
