Imagine waking up, putting on your suit and tie, doing your hair, eating breakfast, getting in your car, driving to the courthouse, wait however long it takes to start the case, step inside, and say one sentence to blow up your whole case.
It's based on the contract. He put money in advertising the defendant house 🏡. Plus time and effort 😅. But the house is not sold. And the contract doesn't have the statement of paying gor these things.
they each got $5000 for appearing. the outcome is taken from the $5000 they receive for showing up...if the plaintiff wins $2000 then he leaves with $7000 (his win and the base price of showing up) and the defendant leaves with $3000 (the remainder of his base price of showing up)
No no, it's not how it works. The cases are REAL cases, and then the program takes them from the real justice system and offers them an arbitre solution. They agree to stick with Judy's decision (it is legal), and they get up to 5k for this depending on the resolution. That means, if the case is dismissed, he goes home with NOTHING, and he cannot pursue again the lawsuit. So yes, he lost his time, he made them lose the time, he appeared as a fool in front of 10 million people, and yes he did go through the real justice system first so he was just that stupid because when he filed, he did not know he would be on TV
A right-to-sale contract is a legal right to sell a property for someone. If a seller enters a contract to sell and finds a buyer and the seller doesn’t want to sell anymore, the broker is entitled to a fair compensation for their services i.e. the commission which would have been made from the sale.
🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️Like seriously do people even bother to Take a pause to think about it for a second, before bringing forth a lawsuit....Like 🤔Humm now wait..Ugh
Guy must have made some changes in his contracts from here on. Let's say you spend 2 hours on that house for 10 days. The house doesn't get sold but you still put your time and money in it - like he claimed. Makes no sense to do all that work for nada.
Maybe you've never sold a house before. If the agent doesn't sell your house and you decide to fire him and find another agent you are under no obligation to pay him back for time spent. He didn't sell your house! The agent makes their money when the house is sold! No sale - no money.
@Imposter To my knowledge, that’s how every real estate agent everywhere in the states works. The understanding is that you sell the house, you get a huge commission. You don’t sell it, you make nothing. It’s no different than any other commission only job.
Plaintiff: "If he doesn't sell the house I get nothing"
JJ: Buh bye!

The guy is laughing. Even he knew he had a frivolous lawsuit!
I think he just wanted to be on tv
What kind of real estate broker doesn't understand the concept of commission?
Why waste her time if he hasn't sold his house yet

To be on TV and say Hi to America’s favorite judge.

@@totallycv2388 Great way to network...if by network you mean CBS.

That guy just solved his own case 😂
What was the point of going to court when you already know what the outcome was going to be? Way to waste her time.

For someone who filmed their TV this actually came out pretty good quality, others could certainly take note
Gotta love Judge Judy. :)

Um no… he didn’t sell the house. So the plaintiff get no commission. You don’t pay a realtor to just enter a contract.
Commissioner sales right it completed sale they have already stated three times no sale have been made
@@Sheniqwa69 if you procure a ready and willing buyer, and the seller suddenly decides not to sell, you can sue for specific performance.
