Went to Kirkby when I got out of Walton in 2000 the was a block high rise flats all boarded up and people was still living in them was a good place some good people 😂
The night 'Mitch' fell of Maple Towers I was couch surfing on the 9th floor, directly above where he went off. We heard his moaning and wailing but thought it was cats shagging, so ignored the noise. How he survived I don't know. The flats exterior were different then. On the ground was paving then a 2-3 foot wide strip of grass, then a small wall. Miraculous how he missed everything solid and landed in the muddy patch of grass. On a side note, at that time Stephen Graham the actor was living next door to the flat I was staying in, it shared the veranda. I wonder if Stephen tells the same story in Hollywood?
Oh how its changed, used to go to St Kevins on Roughwood Drive and lived in Quarry Green, had enough when Thatcher got in power and I now live in NZ, best move I ever made.

Interesting and hilarious, love to hear stories of the old skool days., I lived in Southdene and went to St Kevs school, did my YTS in Southdene in 86 and my C.I in Kirkby stadium in 87.
