  • Not much in terms of real shop action. Just me talking allot. Sorry about that. I do have to work at the same time the guys do. Our trainer really didn't want to be on film so I went with his wishes. Hope you understand.

They get the issues with the center sections solved? You know..all these machine are, are expensive chain saws. If it wasnt for the GD WC insurance hiking the hand cutting rates so high there wouldnt be that many of these things out there. The best I personally ever did in the woods is when I had a 5001 Iron Mule and the JD 490 I put a eliminator 4 ft stroke head on. Simple, put up about 20-30 cords a day average, had a very low monthly payment and two guys. Now its...so and so bought this kind of machine I gotta have one too. Then bid the hell out of the stumpage so the other cant get it. The mills love it. They know that these guys enslave themselves to the banks and they have to produce to make those payments. Cant fire/layoff those machines. I am glad I am semi retired...sort of.

Uh Huh. And when the markets fail so do you. Just remember youngster. The payments dont stop. In my 50 plus years in this industry I have seen many come and go..mostly go. You guys are your own worst enemy. Over produce so the prices stay down and then get greedy as hell and bid the stumpage up. Then you all buy expensive equipment that has to produce to make the payments. Make pennies in pulpwood and dollars in sawlogs. And then flood the market so the mills drop the prices. As I type this, you guys are getting LESS for your delivered pulpwood prices I got when I was producing back in the early 2000s. And I sold to ALL of the mills.

It always is a constant when a young inexperienced person resorts to personal attacks to claim a victory in a debate. Come back and talk when your a tad bit older and have learned the hard way. I did, and like yourself youngster, I seldom listened to my elders and it cost me, and those like me, a whole lot of money. One last thought youngster. You can outperform all you want, and run around and brag how great and wonderful you can be, but it all comes to the bottom line.
