Drake has his demons that are more noticeable but Josh is more manipulative with his villainous tactics. There’s an incident I recall with Jeanette McCurdy regarding an interview she had with him on his podcast that didn’t go very well. From this, I believe both Drake and Josh were victims of child fame and a competitive merciless business, i only feel bad for them, they lost themselves along the way, both of them were talented and charismatic young men, Josh was corrupted by the pressure of being good-looking and always being seen as a "sidekick" and Drake was corrupted by his own mistakes

In my opinion the law is written so poorly in this area that only social predators use it when they want to harm people they dislike. In this case the girl and her mother conspired to do this specifically to trap Drake.

So I can only assume this is a classic case of first impression syndrome, where once someone is accused of a crime, that's what people will think regardless of future evidence being laid out. Look at what happened to Johnny Depp. It is entirely possible that he did do what he was accused of, but to me it all just seems kind of off. I honestly wish there was more info around the situation. I grew up watching the show and I'd hate to think both main characters turned into deplorable people.

Josh tries to salvage the friendship between him and drake because ultimately that’s what fans want, but at the first sign of doing bigger things or the chance to throw him under the bus he will. Drake seems like he was on top of the world and now has to deal with the pressure of losing that, Josh never had that. Yes what drake did is shit , but if the evidence says he stopped when he found out the age , you can’t fault him I guess , creepy but he knew when to stop when so many didn’t. Josh got into his head early on in life that he wasn’t cool. And at the time, Drake epitomized everything he wasn’t. Josh has spent his whole life trying to become something he couldn’t. That’s why to this day, Josh still strikes me as someone who desperately wants to fit in. Even though he has achieved insane levels of success, he’s still haunted by his time on Drake and Josh. I only imagine that Josh secretly rejoices that Drake crashed and burn, to give himself some sort of satisfaction that he did indeed achieve the perfect imagine he’s always wanted, rather than finding solace in himself.

It seems that Americans harbor more fear about Mexico than Mexicans themselves do. It's important to remember that it wouldn't be fair for the world to associate the United States solely with school shootings, and likewise, it's unjust to define Mexico by the negative portrayals often seen in the media. During my three-week stay in Mexico, or my 18 continuous years living there since i was born there, I didn't encounter anything resembling the fearful scenarios often depicted in the news here. You can tell by how much the show affected him and how he refused to be number two anymore even in the Reboot. It honestly comes across as jealously, even from a long time ago. If you really became so successful, why do you still need to fulfill your ego from a show a long time ago?

I'm sure he had fan girls but I'm just as sure he looked at Drake who was probably as much as a ladies man IRL due to the fame and felt like he wasn't getting the same attention or some sort of version of this. Josh Peck in my opinion is a D-Bag. He is not a true friend, he is just trying to stay relevant anyway he can. I'm not going to say he the greatest actor or he is the funniest actor, he's average.
Drake Bell on the other hand, he is problematic for sure. But at least he moved on with his career after Drake and Josh with his music career in Mexico, and taking small roles in film and TV.
Some people may not know this, but before Drake and Josh. Kenan & Kel were the OG Nickelodeon Duo. Just like Drake and Josh they were on a successful sketch comedy show call All That, and shortly thereafter they got their own sitcom while still on All That.
After Kenan & Kel the show ended, Kenan and Kel went their separate ways. Kenan is the longest running cast member on SNL, and Kel I believe is now a pastor, and he still does act occasionally. But my point is that there was also a time where just like Drake and Josh, Kenan and Kel also had a little bit of beef for a point in time. But now they are just as close as ever. They just recently did a Kenan and Kel sketch on SNL with Keke Palmer who was also on Nickelodeon.

She thanks him for the advice & tells him he doesn’t know just how much he helped her. He never said anything else to her after that. She then started to get obsessive & kept trying to reach out to him (she admits this in the sentencing video), but didn’t succeed. He announces his engagement to his longtime girlfriend of 4 years.
After learning about this, she decides to confront him over it, which resulted in her getting blocked by him.
She then proceeds to contact his fiancé, now wife, confronting her about her relationship with him & telling her that she should’ve been the one to be with Drake instead of her. She then started stalking her page, thus proceeding to blackmail her with the allegations, threatening to tell the world that Drake had raped her. Here's a link to her (his wife’s) explanation.
      twitter.com/FFDBProject/status/1482478278900334594/video/1
All this happened in 2017. The next year, she files a false police report, accusing him of Sexual Assault, grooming, sending her nudes & sexual texts. Now, while she’s doing this, Janet (his wife) & Drake are completely unaware that their lives are about to be turned upside down by this stalkerish fan.
Drake plans more concerts & she pops up at every one, plus making the effort to attend Meet & Greets since filing the report. Drake & the accuser’s phones were seized by the authorities when she made the claims.
The investigation went on for 2 years. The accuser claimed that Drake had groomed her since the age of 12, starting in 2014. This implies that she & Drake were engaging in an online relationship for 3 years. Here's the link to the an interview he did in July where he & his wife explain what really went on during the investigation process:
      czcams.com/video/pNRVsBLOTGc/video.html
According to the accuser, this was apparently going on since the start of he & Janet’s relationship, which began in 2014. The investigators caught her in many other lies besides this big one. More lies included Drake getting sexual with her when she reached age 15.
He started calling her “hot” & had sent her pictures of his genitalia. She stated that after she revealed her age, he continued talking to her. The investigators found no proof of that.
They also found no proof that he forced her to give him a BJ backstage, fingered her while they both rode in the back seat of her aunt’s car on the way to his show, sent her dick pics, or that she was ever left alone in his hotel room.
She, her aunt, & her aunt’s friend were all invited to visit his hotel room after the 2nd show. When they arrived, he was blow drying his hair & when he finished, he gave them a tour, talked to them & they took the conversation out in the hallway. Her aunt told her & her friend to wait out in the hallway while she stayed behind to get her birthday card autographed by him.
The accuser told the friend that she was planning on ruining his life because he rejected her advances on Instagram. When she heard this, she was furious & decided to confront the aunt. She then informed the accuser’s mother & they both accused her of lying, which resulted in her being disowned by the family.
She had known the accuser & her family for over 20 years. She knew they were setting him up when she was later contacted by the authorities. Both she & Drake each told their side of what happened. She had stated that his life is ruined by this & expressed how hurt she was over being accused of lying. Here's a link to her statement:
      twitter.com/FFDBProject/status/1482473196079222789/photo/1
The investigators also discovered that the accuser had kept photos of Janet in her phone because she was using them to stalk & harass her over her relationship with Drake. She stated this in a video she made on Instagram earlier this year. I've never heard of a potential victim of Sexual Assault stalking & blackmailing a newly engaged woman because she believed that her fiance should've been with her.
The accuser amped up the drama by claiming that Drake gave her nightmares, panic attacks (she pretended to have one right after saying this, which caused Drake to look at her ass as if she was crazy), was the reason that she was in therapy (she was in therapy way before she even met him) & has a lack of trust in men.
She stated that had she not been on her period, she was sure that he would've raped her. She also doesn't hesitate to blame her aunt for "allowing" her to be assaulted & that is the reason why their relationship is so rocky, when the actual reason why their relationship is shaky is because she blatantly lied on her.
She says that he doesn't have any remorse for the pain he caused her (getting engaged & not being dumb enough to choose a teenager over his girlfriend), that he was a coward for appearing on Zoom instead of in court in person, & doesn't shy away from dragging him over revealing that he was happily married & was a new father & says that he's trying to present himself to the world as a good man just because he had a child (which was his wife's idea to reveal their marital status to the world once everything blew over, as she stated in her video) & that she deserves better than to be used by his "sick desires" before signing off by stating that he is a pedophile & that was his legacy.
Because of her, people now believe that he is a pedophile who was cheating with her behind his wife's back, when the girl was already blocked before they even got married. His wife is getting unfair backlash because she stood by him throughout this entire horrific ordeal & they're outright disgusted by his actions because they really believe the things she accused Drake of doing to her & are treating her as if she's an actual victim of abuse, when in reality she was nothing but a stalker who became unhealthily obsessed with Drake to the point of deluding herself into believing that she'd get to be with him the SECOND he acknowledged her.
They never had a relationship. He never met her at the club. She showed up there, due to the fact that she’d found out that he was having a concert there because he’d announced it in a tweet to his fans. She’d kept attending his concerts, posing as an 18 year old until he grew suspicious & asked for her age. She confessed that she was 15 & as a result got blocked from his Instagram account.
She made his life a living hell because she was pissed at him for blocking her once he learned her real age. He was charged with Child Endangerment, which had something to do with a meet & greet after the 2nd show. He was never charged with any sex crimes & had never plead to them. Her aunt was scheduling meet & greets. The family friend attended 2 out of 9 concerts, which were the concerts she claimed to be assaulted after.
Drake Bell was accused by a former fan of sending her "inappropriate messages" when she was a minor. She filed a complaint with the Ohio police & Drake was investigated for 2 years.
Electronic devices were siezed & the Instagram/Facebook message file was requested. During the investigation, they realized that Drake cut off communication with the girl when he found out her age.
THEY NEVER FOUND INTIMATE IMAGES. There was also no sexual record in these messages.
Drake is one of the few artists who really takes the time to respond to networks, open DMs & share. In her case, this ex-fan (& her family) wanted to take advantage of this.
The girl's family continued to take her to Drake's shows in Ohio & were with her at all times, even getting Meet & Greet through contacts. She attended 9 shows in total following her accusations. This is mentioned in the trial.
During the final hearing, after sentencing Drake for responding to the messages, the "victim" gave further statements WITHOUT PROOF, saying that Drake had abused her. The same lawyers denied it at that precise moment, since there were multiple witnesses.
The girl was accusing Drake without evidence and lying in court, because at that time Drake began to make his relationship with Janet more public (when he announced his engagement).
There is also evidence that the girl wrote things to Drake like "I miss you", after the accusations & that she kept photos of Drake's partner, even sending her messages & invading her privacy.
Drake pleaded guilty for: 1. Exchanging messages WITHOUT KNOWING the age of the girl.
This was the advice she seeked out from him on Instagram.
      2. Having met her at a Meet & Greet, with other people present, since this for US law is "endangering" a minor.
Drake never accepted charges for abusing anyone.
Another thing that started as gossip in the United States is that Drake Bell had "escaped" to Mexico to evade his crimes, which is false. Drake likes to visit Mexico and has been coming for years. Your visits have absolutely nothing to do with your case.
Drake Bell does NOT live in Mexico nor did he change his nationality and the nickname "Campana" was given to him by the same fans. Drake came this past weekend (May 22) to a festival in Orizaba and was invited to a club in Orizaba and Pachuca.
We want to make it very clear that in the trial it is pointed out and highlighted that NONE of the charges that Drake faced have a record of sexual or abuse. So calling him “abuser”, “vi0lad0r”, “ped0phile”, etc. is DEFAMING Drake Bell. The law never found evidence for those accusations."

Honestly the Drake and Josh reboot could have worked if they also made it as if both characters are going through tough times in adulthood.
    1) Josh is not "super successful", but also not flat out broke or desperate, he's just a regular guy with am uneventful yet stable life. He married Mindy, who is much more successful than him, but is currently going through a separation or divorce right now which has also put a strain on the relationship with his daughter who is currently living with him while her mom is on a business trip (or maybe go full Nick sitcom and have the mom be doing something up in space)
    2) Drake is a small time musician that gets to play at local venues and has a small online following, but is nowhere near the "super star" level he dreamed of as a kid. He is still a "lady killer" but finds less and less satisfaction in just one night stands with women that are all just shallow and hang around him for local clout.
The show could be Josh having to move back to his hometown due to work, bringing his estranged daughter with him, and finding out that his Drake is his new neighbor in the complex he just moved in. They haven't really spoken to each other in years since Josh left town to make something out of himself and they have conflicting feelings about each other. Josh feels that Drake is loving the fact that he's nowhere near as successful and he thought he'd while Drake feels that Josh resents him for constantly "holding him back" and refusing to change and grow up like him.

As a Mexican, I can try to explain a bit the reason for the popularity of Drake Bell in the country. While the show was originally shown in the Nickelodeon channel, at around 2006-2007 it started being syndicalized in the national network, in Canal 5, which is like, the kids-teens channel in the country in the 4-5 bloc. This lead to an increase in the popularity, as it was easily accessible to all the people that had a TV in the country. It ran for a long time. I think reruns are still shown to this day, though, I dont use TV that much. It only started being less shown when other nickelodeon sitcoms, like "ICarly" started running in the same networks. In specific, the character of Drake became popular due to the culture of the country. Mexico has, in a sense, a way meaner culture than other countries. Things like bullying as portrayed in 2000's comedies is actually quite common, and even expected in an educational environment or in a normal friendship. If you see any mexican sitcom, I would say they have more in common with something like "Its always sunny in philadelphia", than it has with other sitcoms, like the office. Add to it that the country has a longstanding tradition of characters that are similar to Drake's. Tricksters that get away with almost anything due to their personalities, even with a lack of wits are quite common, such as characters like Tin Tan or Cantinflas. Mix them both, and you get something like Drake. A slightly meaner version of trickster that became popular with the youth, due to it resonating more with them. The mean aspect is downplayed, due to the cultural aspects surrounding the country, and add the trickster aspect and boom, instant popularity. Add to it the fact that he is relatively handsome, and has a decent voice, and it became very popular among younger generations.
Sorry for the wall of text, it is just a brief explanation of the popularity in the country.

@@roachtheflorist9492 Good Morning. While there is no legal racism in the country against indigenous people, or people descended from African people, there is an implied racist and classist connotation against them. A common misinterpretation in the country along the lines of "In Mexico there is no racism, only classism". Both groups, especially indigenous groups are severely disadvantaged in terms of economic power, due to history of policies that tend to hurt them, and limited opportunities in terms of education and economic growth. While there is no clear data that I can cite of this phenomena, such as incarceration rates, there are clear instances that can be seen to the clear eye. Most celebrities are of a clearer skin tone, and there is a very limited representation of the two groups you mentioned in politics. For example, in the 200 years that our country has implemented democracy, I can only name 3 mexican presidents of indigenous descent. And of those 3, 1 was a dictator of 30 years with a fixation for french culture that severely hurt the indigenous groups, with economic policies that only benefited the european descended population, 1 was someone that seized power through a coup and only lasted months during the Mexican revolution, and the last one (or first one, chronologically) was the first indigenous president in Latin America, who also got power through, let's call it less savory methods (I can't go into details on Benito Juarez, as there is a lot I dont really know about his policies). However, since 1914, when Victoriano Huerta (the coup one) was ousted, there have been no indigenous presidents in the country.
There are also other things that can be clearly seen of this phenomenom. Terms such as "Tez Humilde" (humble skin tone) used to describe people of darker skin color, or "Whitexican" (In short, it means something like "A white mexican that utilizes interactions with indigenous people in social media to gain clout", something like the kid that went to do missionary missions, and has their personal feed full of photos and "inspiring messages") that show this implied racism. Also, a lighter skinned individual is always seen as more "upstanding" or "better prepared", at the moment of hiring, or when in search of a romantic partner. People of darker skin are inherently seen as less "trustworthy", "less prepared", or as undesirable as a romantic prospect. So, in short, the answer yo your question is yes. There is a heavy bias against people of indigenous people or darker skinned individuals.

Add to it that I am a white mexican, and some bias is to be expected. I tried being as objective as possible to describe the national sentiment, but there is bound to be some bias on my part as well. Hell, in my state there is a clearly anti-immigrant sentiment for the people of other Latin American countries, as there is a population that are here hoping to cross the border, and they are seen as vagrants and no-gooders at best, and outright criminals at worst, by some (not all, but a sizable portion) of the population.

It’s ironic to think that the show was both the greatest and worst mistake of their lives… Yes they were famous because of it, but they are also trapped and bound to it for the rest of their careers... Almost nothing will make them higher than that show, yet it’s what tore them apart the most. What’s even more funny is that Megan (Maranda) always came up on top of both of them. Apparently she still is in real life as well.

The jokes and laughs become a mask. But I wouldn't stoop so low as to wait for someone (who is seemingly called a "brother") to completely fall and kick him on the ground. Drake isn't a great guy, but Josh went from being portrayed as a "pathetic" character on a comedy show to kinda just being a pathetic person in general.

I think what Josh said about Drake was a full mask reveal of his true feelings. Most of what Josh did with Drake - such as the CZcams videos and the few other interactions that happened - was for the fans, not how he actually felt.
I think that Josh has always felt this way about Drake. He didn’t like him and he didn’t like being played as the “fat nerd” by the show. In a way, I think he always resented Drake for always being touted as what a “cool person” should be and how the show, itself, elevated Drake. Resentment is bred when favoritism is played.
What I see with this is Josh finally distancing himself from Drake and making it clear to the fans of the Sit-Com that they were never the brothers they had been portrayed as.
My main issue with how he acted has to do with the immorality of it. Drake has done a bad thing, yes, but that does not mean you kick them further while they’re down. It reflects upon your moral character when you add insult to injury instead of extending an olive branch and say that you still care for them, even if you don’t view him as a friend.

As a mexican I can sort of give you a reason as to why Drake is famous here in Mexico and in general in Latin America.
It has something to do with Drake's spanish voice actor Enzo Fortuny.
At some point Drake and Enzo met in person and Enzo taught Drake how to say his catch phrases from the show in spanish.
And so Drake implemented his phrases in spanish for conventions and fan meetings.
Which is why you might say that yes, Drake is more famous in Mexico.

He was always jealous of the fact that Drake got more recognition and awards out of the show whereas Josh only remained a sidekick. The "Josh & Drake" idea pretty much sums up the situation between both. In the reboot they could have easily played a whole bunch of different characters so why the loser/winner trope then?

Just by being in affiliation with David Dobrik’s squad, you can tell he is desperate to be in the in-crowd. And what the fuck is that Josh & Drake pitch? He probably ended up resenting him due to the whole fat funny sidekick role he was forced to play. Imagine the self image issues to be constantly told ur less than ur attractive coworker. Josh def has love for drake but it’s so toxic bc in his prime developmental years he was constantly targeted and compared to drake. It was even a joke on the show. Finding out that Josh just wanted to make bank off of Drake's issues is sad, and it breaks my heart because I didn't see the show as Drake was the gold and Josh was the silver, I saw them both as stars of their show. TBH, I feel like the insecurities that Josh had as a kid spilled over into his adulthood, and turned him into this bitter, asshole-ish guy that never really grew of the that childish "I'm better than you!" mentality. He seems ... Not intimidated by Drake's abilities as an actor, but almost jealous of him as a whole.
Adding to it, it just ... saddens me deeply that he would use Drake's failures and legal issues, even stereotyping a country rich in food, culture, and people as a backdrop for his ego trip. If this was the premise of the reboot, the stereotyping of Mexico, making fun of his former costar, and trying to make himself look as good as possible while making his costar look just as bad in fiction as he does in reality? That's not a reboot I want to watch, it's something that I wouldn't even associate with because ... It's just really shitty.

The tweet to Caitlyn Jenner made people believe that he was transphobic.
The Twitter fight with Justin Bieber's fans meant that he was a jealous hasbeen. Some fans sent him death threats & they were ecstatic about Justin making an appearance to his album release party in 2014.
The tweets he made in regards to not being invited to Josh's wedding 3 years later & is called an entitled drama seeker.
In 2020, an ex-girlfriend of his makes a Tik Tok video claiming to have been physically assaulted by him throughout their relationship (when he gets drunk), as well as accusations of Pedophilia, claims that she has proof that indicates that he dragged her down some stairs & that her face hit every step. Now, people view him as a woman beater & are now speculating that he beats his wife.
And last year, gets arrested for charges of Child Endangerment, & while in court, gets accused of Pedophilia AGAIN, by a young fan of his who fabricated a story about being groomed by him since age 12 & claims that they engaged in an online relationship together & flat out SLANDERS his name. He's now labeled a rapist & once _again_ there is speculation that Josh knew all about this behavior & that that is the reason why he wasn't invited to the wedding.
Fuck Josh for that script & anybody who screeched at his wife, who's family is Mexican, for being offended seriously need to put themselves in her shoes.
