What a glorious sight to see these gentlemen in their golden years still enjoying this great hobby. I'm 75 & currently have 3 models under various stages of construction. It never gets old!

I have been building models for 60 years and have built many different types. Watching this video brings back to me the pure joy of flying these old timers. As I get older I am finding It stressful to fly some of my faster planes and I am now inspired to return to build an "Old Timer" Thanks for a beautiful video.

I love the look and flying characteristics of these oldtimer airplanes. I've had many and recognize many of these. And they are actually flying on fuel instead of electric. Very few at our field have glow engines anymore. Anything less than 30cc seems to be electric, 30cc and up is gas or turbine.

Four years later and I'm watching it again, great stuff 👍 That near miss at 7:40 is just classic, the way the lady stands back and waits for the impact while the pilot just slightly side steps 😁

This bought back so many happy memories from the mid 1980’s going to these “ events with my dad
He had a Majestic major and a Powerhouse both fitted with if I remember with OS and Enya 60’s and 90’s and Jim Shelly’s Mini Mags
Remember a great character Mike Wittard and a chap called Cookie
This was pre mobile phones you just had to find the correct field when you got there
    Halcyon days

Only once been to the Cotswold, half a day on a business trip to see my old aunt in Chipping Campden. The drive and countryside took my breath away, it was absolutely lovely. To fly vintage models there sounds like heaven to me. I am just starting a 'new' model, building an old Berkeley Powerhouse 41 kit, will use a Bantam .19. Next after that is a Consolidated StratoStreak, also for the same engine range but haven't decided what it gets yet.
I must say, although I enjoy both in their own right and I appreciate the convenience of the combination, electric power and old timers is something that has zero appeal to me. Seems to lose the life, or - ha ha - the spark. Just my own preferences. IC all the way. A burbling engine adds to the tension and excitement to me.

I like these stylish looking models and they are just designed as models, so the fly right, most of the models people fly today are scaled of full size plane and that doesn't always work,
I can appreciate how enjoyable it is to fly slowly and catch the odd thermal.
    Good show men.

Nicely presented, sir. It is refreshing to have the pleasure of seeing an evenly-paced video; not in-your-face or frenetic. I hope you will continue to present these dignified and thoroughly enjoyable pieces; a rarity now, sadly to
say. Thank you and best wishes from a colonial.

I love this hobby and it breaks my heart that the young people aren't interested in it anymore because they are all playing video games and th FAA just made us all criminals if we don't install remote ID on our planes and transmitter... under the guise of SAFETY... If they had done a risk assessment studys they would have concluded that remote ID doesn't increase public safety at all because if someone has bad intentions registration isn't a preventive it only criminalizes the law abiding hobbyist. Anyway I guess all of us Dinosaurs are dying off anyway.
