So wild that back then we looked forward to graphics getting better and seeing what could be produced. Apparently just because graphics get better doesn’t mean more creativity, just bringing back maps for nostalgia and selling a dlc pack as a whole full fledged game…. Wild
To be fair their new maps have mostly been awful. I also don't think the graphics are all that impressive compared to other games and shooters. Activision has been pretty lazy for years and I believe it's because they know they don't have to try anymore. People will keep buying these games regardless of the state

..Estate is the map I think of every time Modern Warfare is mentioned. It was just so much fun trying to invade that house. BEST Map Ever!!!
..and to see it on this Gen Console, absolutely beautifully done!!! I'll never forget randomly running into Quarry in a game of Warzone. I had no idea about the retro maps. It was SO beautiful...
I had no idea they were bringing these maps back. I haven't been into COD since the original MW days. I'm for sure buying this game now. Finally, I get to relive the levels from my glory days!! Thanks Devs!!
Beware of SBMM tho. If you play good you get matched against sweats most of the time. Still, seems like the best CoD of recent years even with such a scuffed system.

They repackaged the maps, they repackaged the load outs, the games are half baked and all they had to do was prey on your nostalgia to get you to buy it. Now they don't actually have to put real creativity and effort into their games cuz you'll buy this garbage. Want the old maps? Play mw2 from 2009, you can still get TDM, ground war, and search games going til this day. It's a whole other topic as well, but to touch on it briefly, these aren't even literally the same maps, they altered them slightly, window openings go to your ankles, lots of "cover" is knee height at best now so you can't take advantage of good positions on maps like you could back in the day. It literally isn't better than what they released 14 years ago, and yet people buy it for 70 dollars when they could play their old copy for free, or buy it for 5 dollars at used game store, or buy it for 20 dollars from Xbox digital marketplace. Way cheaper than 70 bucks that you won't be playing a year from now

Stopped playing cod for a couple years.. But omg didn't know all these maps were included.. these maps are bringing back so many memories. Most of these maps are the reason why I fell in love with cod back then in the first place. Just upgraded to a series x next im purchasing mw3. Think i'm gonna fall back in love.
Highrise is back! In the original MW2, I got my first and only nuke ever on that map.

The Campaign may be lacking but I'm honestly looking forward to multiplayer the most this time around even though I'm a Campaign guy. The fact that all the MW2 maps are coming back and all your stuff from the last game will be carried over is awesome! I also really appreciate that they aren't just copy and pasting the versions of the maps that were in Al Mazrah (quarry, terminal, rust etc.) over and instead they they are doing full remasters of the og MW2 ones. And since they gave us Strike And Showdown in the last game, I'm really hoping they bring back some more og COD4 maps as well.
I would like to see Crash, Vacant and Broadcast make a return, as well as Overgrown, Crossfire, Chinatown, Ambush and so many others. And maybe even some og MW3 maps. Some of those ground war maps also look suspiciously like Countdown. If they were smart they would give us every single map from the new MW series in addition to ALL of the maps from the og MW series. Now THAT would be awesome! But who knows, I guess we'll see. 🤞🏻

They've realised that the MW2 maps are the best ones they've made and what fans love and loved.
I like how every single ones of these maps was from an older call of duty, shows how much work they did.

@@johnnyhickey1312 OG one looks like an actual rundown... it actual fit. I liked the vibe and aesthetic back in the OG a lot better for essentially every map, some look real good however like Afghan and Estate.

This is giving me Cold War vibes. Yes these old maps bring back memories when I first started playing but new maps would’ve been much better. Being creative should’ve been the goal. They could’ve started adding these old maps every new season.

MW3 had some bangerrrss. I'm glad they brought these back even tho I doubt I'll buy the new game. There were things they did so much different with maps back then. They were less formulaic and better/less balanced. Some were just the typical 3 path but the ones that werent were bangers.

How did u make it so the filmic blurry textures aren’t there? My guns and reflected surfaces seem super smudged and filmic even with film grain off

I have absolutely zero idea what bluds are complaining about when it comes to the maps... these are some of the best maps in all of CoD history, especially when compared to the last game.

Honestly, this should've just been part of MW2 2022 and MW3's OG maps for MW3 2023.
Mw2 underpass had eerie creepy vibe to it that made look like the map was haunted by a ghost. I prefer that over mw3 underpass.
yeeeee the og maps are really like "in the fog" with the rain it's really more dark/gloomy, on the remake there is rain, the cloud in the sky are here but it's like as if it were sunny! it breaks all the atmosphere of the original! (And it's not the only this maps that are like that..) The OG one got a really precise atmosphere ! it's not about my nostalgia ! Light is important asf, like in the best film, light need to be on point,if not, that can fucked up an scene ! And here, THEY FUCKED UP THE SCENE GOD DAMN THEY GOT ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD AND FUCKED UP BASIC THING !
At this point I don’t think I can remember how many times they remade Terminal in this game’s lifespan. Has to be around 6-7

Is it just me or is the lighting and environmental detail wildly inconsistent in these remasters. Like, Invasion looks really good, straight out of real life war footage, then maps like Rust and High Rise look a little cartoony.
