Great journalism guys, enjoying watching your videos recently, talk a lot of sense and asking the difficult questions in the press conferences is always the way to go,
Cheers! L
Aye deffo keep the videos coming, lads. I was thinking the last few weeks that you guys need to upload a midweek vid just to iron out any subjects that maybe floating around or just a general bit crack. Always enjoy your stuff 👍 PS wheres the 3rd Amigo 😁
Might be something we look at for the new season! L
Enjoyed that, spot on with everything 👏
Glad you enjoyed it! L
I would like a video on your collective thoughts on PSR. As it stands we are not going to catch up with the likes of Man. City, Liverpool, Arsenal etc. for the foreseeable future over many, many transfer windows as the difference is just too great. The restrictions being placed on just being able to begin to close the gap in revenue gathering never mind actually achieving it are enough to slow down our capability to close the gap. All the time that gap widens with them improving their squad exponentially better than we do ours because they have more money to spend on it each year in comparison.
Thanks! We will look into it. L
Second video I’ve watched, spot on with the academy comments, however, the current situation will have to focus on bringing quality players in to give the Academy the breathing space to identify and produce players of the calibre that will be needed. Thanks for the content lads very interesting watching and listening.
Thanks! L
Keep playing Miley, he is class. Mainoo plays every game for Manure and was outstanding against Liverpool yesterday.
I'd like to see him back in. L
Playing Dan Burn as a wing back was an absolute joke. It had to be Lewis Hall's moment and Eddie bottled it.
At the start of the season Bruno was more interested in his contract than the football, Joelinton was injured, and Tonali was obviously increasingly weighed down by the impending doom, so the midfield was struggling from the off. Eddie should have picked Anderson in August instead of Bruno or Joelinton off the back of a brilliant pre season. I will say Tonali was fantastic against Villa and provided my moment of the season with the first goal, and I hope he comes back strongly in August.
We do, too! L
Great report and nice to hear about our U21s. It's a shame you haven't gone out to Dubai.
No press invites to the Dubai ones. L
Cheers lads. Keep it up 🤍🖤🤍🖤
Always! L
PSR: I think it was Adam Cleary who described it as the top five teams pulling the ladder up after them. They have gone into the elite football shop and bought all the best players and then shut the shop when we turned up. Well, actually I think it was to stop Leicester City but you know what I mean. The top five clubs have the monopoly and the rest don’t care because they don’t have the resources anyway. We are in exactly the same position as Chewsi, and Citeh and we can’t spend because of a rule change which was designed to protect smaller clubs from going into receivership, essentially.
I actually agree with PSR in principle. Protecting ‘smaller’ clubs from the abyss is sensible. Stopping big clubs from buying the title is sensible. But the current system has inadvertently or deliberately - I know what I think is the right one - meant that no new investment can challenge the elite. And that’s just unfair.
I can’t see the league taking too harsh an action against City and Chelsea either re. their respective PSR breaches. Particularly with regard to city as it will essentially throw a bucket of shite over the whole premier leagues recent history. I had hoped they would try to impress the gov and head off the move to implement an independent governance overseer by taking harsh action to demonstrate authority but I don’t think they’ll risk the leagues reputation.
So, in short, they have us by the nuts, alas.
They certainly do. Thanks for the considered thoughts! L
I have a wee thought experiment that made me put the season in a bit of perspective. Think of your ‘full availability’ starting Toon 11. Then look t the teams in the last few games. How many players are different? And even when you put in these players we’re still looking light in terms of )top six) players.
(I picked Pope, Burn, Schar, Botman, Trippier, Joelinton, Bruno, Tonali, Barnes, Gordon, Isak. With Willock, Tino, Longstaff, Murph and Anderson all there as well on the bench because the modern game is always about your bench as well as your starters).
Agreed. Team still needs an injection of major quality. L
Can you guys do a video on the upcoming transfer? both in terms of estimated transfer budgets, who you guys think will stay and go. In terms of outgoings both in terms of players who are out of contract and contracted players. Cheers.
*transfer window
Addressed this in our latest video! L
Couldnt agree more if newcastle want to challenge the top clubs in years to come we need to build state of the art youth and training facilitys to show the youngsters this is a club they can thrive at we lose far too much potential to better equipped clubs
It has to stop! L
Agreed that Howe has shown some more tactical awareness recently but am still dumfounded by many of his decisions and wonder if it's too little, too late to rescue this season.
Let's hope not! L
Spot on report guys 👍. I can’t argue with anything you said which is really disappointing 🤣🤣. Look forward to next one. EH no1 job convincing Bruno and Isak to stay, get big Jo contract sorted and build team around them. Whatever business we do in summer has to improve starting 11 not just squad! PSR is a joke football only business where owner is told what they can invest in said business!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks! L
Bobby Clark seems to be one .We should definitely try to tie down the best talent at a young age,yes a video on future of our current quality players
Hes at Liverpool mate.
@@lukebailey853 hi !uke I phrased it wrong meant Clark one we let go I should have put a full. stop after one!
100%. L
Do a video on who u would sell and players futures.🌑🌑
Great idea. L
We all thin psr is wrong but while cartel are allowed it will never be fair
Change is needed! L
Deff do a show about PSR. Any regulation should take outstanding debt into consideration. Teams like Man U and Spurs have massive debts (Man U round about £billion) bit can spend more because they generate loads of revenue
Most premier league clubs have a lot of external debt. New rules that limit spending based upon debt or allow spending based upon a lack of it could never be voted in.
We will take a look at this later in the week. L
Aye dee a FFP video definitely, look at even City, Palmer sold for £40 million pure profit as academy player but like they need it anyhoo and you watch they bid for Wor Bruno £100 million with some of that leverage from Palmer cash 💰!! It’s all wrong, at this rate Amanda’s 5-10 year strategy for PL/CL, it could be 15-20 years ffs…😮😢
Feels that way! L
If we had played at Chelsea the way we played at city we would have got at least a point, wasn’t a shock result.
Agree. 100%. L
No sound
Turn it up! L
Brunos nashing in the summer like
I'm not sure he is, but let's see how the rest of the season plays out. L
The players missing is one aspect but the inability to change things around by bringing on players to make a difference is another
Good point and one we've raised in the past. L
I think Elliot’s bulking up could have contributed to his stress fracture in his back??
Not what I'd heard. L
@@GeordieJournos Liam, tonight on the subject of Anderson, you mentioned growth spurt and weights, have you heard some new information after my initial theory?
We will never move forward as long as Howe is here holding us back, other managers have the balls to put young talent in the team, he doesn’t. I feel sorry for Minteh and Ashby, they don’t stand a chance as long as Howe is here. #HoweOUT
Ashby isn't good! It isn't just down to eddie. Miley played in the champions league!
Patience needed with names mentioned. L
Usual garbage in papers it’s Bruno going
I can't make sense of this. L
@@GeordieJournos all the papers report scouts at the last game from psg and Real Madrid to watch Bruno and Isak
In any business if and employee was not performing at work for 3 months and just acting like everything's okay.
He/she would be out the door no matter how good work was the previous year.. Eddie Howe out
Some fans are ultra slow at seeing a bad craftsman at work.
And some fans would have us churn through managers on a season by season basis.
All about opinions! L
PSR discussion would be good, in current form Ferguson would have had to sell the Class of 92 to balance the books. It also robs academy players of option of playing for their hometown club
Agreed. We will look into it. L
