    I hate how people have absolutely no respect for Hapkido. They say it's "fake martial arts " and "these techniques won't work, they will get you killed" stop and think for a moment, where did self defense come from? If we didn't have these so-called "fake techniques " nobody in the world would know how to defend themselves. I know a lot about the korean martial art of taekwondo and hapkido and take it from me, these techniques work. You see stuff other than wrestling and say it's "fake " this is more real that wrestling or boxing. You have a martial art that shows you how to stop a knife, how to disarm a gun, how to get out of grabs and chokeholds. Is that not real enough for u guys?

      Been doing it since I was 11 I'm 24. Took 2 years before I did a joint lock correctly and just now learning application. You learn striking and ground fight but if you cant isolate a limb and you know which ways it can and cant bend you figure how to cause quite the I jury. I've seen someone take a hairline fracture in the elbow from an elbow lock. Took a couple months to heal

    I'd love to see them test this out suing a cap gun. If you hear a BANG...you're shot. :) Put some red paint on the edge of the plastic knives. If touched you're cut.

    • @straycat1674
      @straycat1674 Před 5 lety +2

      Coli Jee it's not just your belt. The belt is used here because it's convenient, but a rope or an extension cord or a scarf or T-shirt or anything that would work appropriately can be used. It doesn't have to be your martial arts belt. Look at it as a common object weapon. Say you have on A button or zip up light weight over shirt. Somebody faces off with you and possesses a weapon that can cut. When the last thing you ever really want to do if possible is defend against a weapon that can cut you with bare hands. Your risk of getting cut skyrockets. But utilize your belt or your scar or you will pull overor button up over shirt to deflect to rat trap locks Road. Good practice to become simple and it becomes part of your every day skill set.

      Hey what’s up, so I take a form called like sool won, which is a combination of Korean forms like TKD, Hapkido and a lot of others. A lot of this stuff is somewhat exaggerated. That doesn’t mean it’s not real, it’s just that a lot of times in a real fight you’ll have to adapt to using these techniques on a struggling opponent and unless you’re sparring you may not be accustomed to that

    I know he is moving slow for video purposes, but he is not getting out of the way of the barrel of the gun. There is another video online with gun defense where the gun actually fires (paint bullets) to show how you REALLY to move and be fast in a split second or the bullet would graze your head or hit your body.

  • @derrickboyd9225
    @derrickboyd9225 Před rokem

    Hapkido is impressive and unique if you get the timing done you could disarm any one that's holding the gun someone wants told me that karate can't stop a bullet but that doesn't mean you can try unless to disarm someone is holding the gun it's all about the right timing I'm going to try and get up close in order to take him down cuz I seen plenty of people carrying a gun I never actually saw something coming up on a gun like that in their bags I wish I could have had a gun myself but it's just way too dangerous kids these days are just crazy despa cuz you got to try to defend yourself against something like that it's all about trying to defend yourself it may be dangerous and risky but you got to try because it might save your life if you do it the right way in time with the right way one more move and you're dead it's all about the tiny as long as you don't make that one mistake 🥋☯️🙏😌🙏☯️🥋

      It's been years since my training, but back then 20ft was the Safety Zone -- plenty of time to run away. There is a joke among my friends who like guns: "Never take a knife to a gun fight." Well, if I have a gun, fine. But if not, and I'm closer than 20 feet, and I can move fast (not just run), there's a good possiblity that I might win. BUT ... if no one else is in danger, and I have a place to run to, then I'm not hanging around. There's always the chance the other guy or girl has a knife, too, and is better at it than I am.

      As a fifth degree in this art myself, former law-enforcement, former military and former professional bouncer and bounty Hunter, quite a few these I would say I have used in real life. I know 100% percent they will work. Why? Because I have real world experience. Not just studio experience and not just opinion. But at the same time, every firearm defense where he catch them self right in front of that gun is going to get him shot. These are dangerous and ignorant moves. Studies have been shown with paintball pistols were people of tried to do some more techniques and they were shot before anything happened to that gun. There are videos out there you can find them. And my expert opinion as a fifth- degree in HPD as a former law-enforcement officer, a former soldier, combat soldier, former fugitive recovery and professional bouncer, question everything and understand some of these things that you show here or they show, will get them killed. I don't care how fast and how good they think they are. Use your heads.

    Really have you been in the army etc? When ppl point you at the gun they dont stand point blank near to you. They keep their distance. You know why? Because they dont need to be near you! And they know that if you go really near someone that they loose much of that advantage what they got when they have a gun. Those gun taking tricks dont work in real life because ppl with guns keep their distance.
