1 week wait at the repairshop do the boys were devastated. Followed this and clean the main jet with a sewing needle, put it all together. Voila, runs like a charm. A big thanks from me and my 3 boys in Norway.
Thanks for posting this video! This video helped set aside any intimidation and jump in. I ran a needle through the jets and soaked them for a while in vinegar. She fired right up! Thanks again.

Thanks so much for this video! I was able to see how the choke linkages and lever work properly. My GF just bought a ding with a 1996 yama 15. The prior owner didn't reassemble the carb linkages properly after he monkeyed around. (no choke linkages attached at all and parts were missing.) He said "Who needs a choke in Florida anyway?" . lol The motor starts more reliably now that I've replaced the missing parts and assembled as shown in your video. Thanks again! Jeff, Key West

How to check if the fuel pump is faulty? My 9.9 with 15hp reeds stutters when I suddenly give a lot of gas. When I do it slowly, no problem. No probs at constant rpms in any range. Could be the pump?

what year is that? I just got one similar that is model number E15CMH and from what I can tell its supposed to be a 1987 by the H on the end..however, when I look up carb parts the only ones that look the same are from a 2002...mine looks just like yours...Is your Model number on the side 15MSHB? That would be 2003?
The E at the beginning is for enduro. An over seas (non USA) outboard designed for overseas I got one recently. Call a Yamaha dealer not based in the USA. they say it won’t exist in their database
Hey, is it possible to turn a 2013 f9.9 to 15hp? I hear changing the reed valve assembly from a 15hp one is all that takes?

Yes won’t run right without it
It's the Idle restrictor, without it it will flood. Mine came out in mid sea and I wasn't able to start it up again. It's just came loose and once fitted back it fired straight away
Hey Eric great video I basically followed this to work on my 15hp yamaha for the first time as Im new to boats. I have not been able to start mine after it was sitting over winter for a few months I replaced both sparkplugs new fuel tank and fuel line just cleaned the carby and still no luck with starting it. What could you advise me to do next?

Yes I am getting spark on both sparkplugs. I have taken the both hoses off to the fuel fliter and the fuel filter to carb to make sure no blockage and it seems as if it is feeding fuel however when i released the bottom fuel release screw on the carb no fuel leaked out. When i prime fuel through its leaking out the top cap of the fuel filter container is it meant to fill the carby up and the float?

eric edic i could move the float with ease with light pressing by finger. Is the carby you pulled apart in this video meant to have fuel in it when taken out?
@@brendan6093 you have have a carb issue if your not getting any fuel when you take the drain bolt out

I'm in leesburg Florida it's an hour and a half north of you
think this is more of a strip down, Showing setting the float is very important which you didn't include. a really good addition to the vid would be adjusting the air to fuel ratio. granted you can strip a carburetor down but if the float isn't set along with the air to fuel mixture then your engine isn't going to perform correctly, so much important information missing!! if you went with this vid alone you could do more harm than good IMO...
