Alright reducing the clear time from 2 hours to 5 minutes is clearly a massive improvement. Even though Dave is (kinda) modest about his skills, he's clearly has become an expert.

Yeah and a power up should be enough for him to damage boost through to the 2nd door but he gave up already.

2:57 To be fair to the level: it's _on_ the screen.
Bowser junior is on the screen and it's the thing that freezes you. Sure, it's hard to see, and he's not _fully_ on the screen, but he's on the screen enough so that you can reasonably deduce what he's doing.
Also, every time he jumps, right before he slams the ground he gives an audio cue.
So, I respectfully disagree. That's... hard but fair.
Also also, you can scroll the screen to the right (which he does) to get a full view of Bowser Jr.

The bowser doing the pounding is on screen and there's a reliable sound cue every time. It's a pretty fair use of the mechanic.

@@koveltskiis8391 The sound cue was very obvious imo. And if you aren't listening to game audio, you're willingly giving up one of your senses so it's not the level designer's fault.

What do you mean, "failed"? He called his shot and beat it first try.
The endless battle has the P block music as a timer. The ground shake happens at the same point of the song every time. Thus you can actually time the ground shakes
Also, you can literally see the boss off to the right doing the pounding.
You can literally see Bowser jr ground pounding. It's not that deep...

That first level it looks like you need to get one of the power ups and go through the door and use the invincibility frames to get to the second door.

In the first level, there is a way to know when you will be frozen from a boss’ pound. Listen for Bowser Jr’s laugh. It always happens just before the pound.

I think difficult levels get boos because there are literal children playing them that think the level is actually impossible

I think this is the first DGR level that was "to be continued".
On that first level, if you look on the left side, you can see baby Bowser jumping and doing a ground pound if you look carefully. That's what's stunlocking you.
I want to see more levels that have more boos than likes. All levels have boos, so number of boos alone is not necessarily a good indicator for whether or not the level is good. Then again, that last level had more boos than likes, but it was pretty good.
The Endless battle doesn't even seem that bad; you can see Bowser Jr. off to the right and he stops spitting fireballs and even goes "Haha!" before he does his ground pound.

I watched entirely too long waiting for Dave to figure out you can see Bowser Jr doing the ground pound
The nintendo level was probably booed so much because the boo was a new feature and everyone was spamming it
That first level, the pounding was timed with the p switch
There is a way to avoid the off screen boss stuns. ....Keep jumping to minimize the chances you will be on the ground to receive a stun.

Why did that second level have so many boos? You literally just run and jump once and you win!
That first level that DGR played actually looked familiar to me as I think EVW played that one before and managed to clear it.
DGR the only path is to grab a mushroom head through the door and use i-frames.
I hope you revisit that level.
The pounding on the first level can be avoided, just listen Bowser jr laugh then jump 😅
That first one: the P switch music tells you when to jump to avoid the freeze.
That first level should simply be titled “Hell”

Many people in the comments pointing out how Dave apparently missed Bowser Jr being on-screen, when they themselves ironically missed when Dave did seem to notice at 4:08. Although it’s ambiguous as to whether he noticed it himself or if he read a chat message pointing it out. Either way, he already noticed so pointing it out to him in a comment is totally pointless.
…It was also Nintendo that featured enemies coming out of blocks in a trailer for SMM…

You can see Bowser Jr. jumping on the right screen. So why do you say you can't see what causes the freeze of your character?
In Endless Battle you could see bowser junior on the right side of the screen and you can see him pound so at least as a viewer we could see exactly when he stuns you...
