I was thoroughly impressed with The First Omen. Great performances, a few jump scares but overall very well done prequel to the original movie.
Really good review without spoiling almost anything
What's with all the swagger in your thumbnail Tom 😂 So formal looking, lol. Not a bad thing! Just took me off guard. Love you and Shaun and the channel
The photo is from the red carpet premier of the film he is reviewing.
The Final Conflict is a lot of fun (and features a death scene at the beginning that is unbelievably gruesome). Plus: Sam Neill as Damien!
I liked this movie. I thought it got better at the end. The cinematography is great and there are some very memorable scenes. Good cerebral and body horror. The story could have been better. Not original enough.
going to watch this tonight, also Nell Tiger Free was in a AppleTV show called "Servant" by M Night Shyamalan which you guys might like but its 4 seasons long, she was a main character in that show and she did a pretty good job
You guys need to watch The Omen III! In my opinion it's a film worth watching
I would just say that Omen III: The Final Conflict is part of the original trilogy. Omen, we saw him as a child, Omen 2 and teenager. In both of those Damien doesn't really know or understand who or what he is (until maybe the last stages of the 2nd movie).. just knows he's different and he has a host of people protecting him. In 3 he's a adult (played by a young Sam Neill). Full conscious of what he is and what he's meant to achieve. I would say it's the weakest of the 3 originals, but it does tie up the story.
Based on your review of Casablanca, I think you would love David Lean’s Lawrence of Arabia. Probably the best cinematography ever. A true classic.
Hey guys. I really love your content. But with nearly 100k subs you finally should consider some reasonable mics 😉
I saw it yesterday 💕 it was pretty good, btw hey guys I love y’all
I haven't seen it, but my problem is that in the original Damien's mother was a jackal, and clearly that's not the case here. FYI - the 3rd is step down but definitely worth watching in my opinion. Stop there, however. Nothing beyond is of any value.
That’s true-Damien’s mother(in the original movie)wasn’t human.
They do explain that in this movie. The mom is still a jackal. The dad too.
@@jarredah Not quite correct.
@@Col_Fragg How not? They said the jackal needs to mate with its own offspring and produce a male for the prophecy to work. So the main character was born with jackal blood and then mated with a jackal. Did I miss something in the movie? Lol
@@jarredah Satan had sex with the jackal (presumably) in the original, and it gave birth to Damien. Do they explain it in this fashion?
I thought you were reviewing the actual first Omen, never heard of this lol
I’m not too happy about the changing his mother and I’m pretty sure it’s mentioned in all three original films, I’m still going to watch this despite that.
It was indeed mentioned and proven many times that Damian's mother was a Jackal in the original movies.
I'm sure the rest of the prequel is good as they say but seeing that the ending retcons Damien's birth, it's not worth my time.
@@Spindler2007A jackal demon impregnates a woman. A daughter is born, a human with jackal DNA. That jackal woman is impregnated by that same jackal demon. The Antichrist is born from that jackal woman. aka born from a Jackal.
That's the retcon. There's more to it than that. I won't tell you who the mother really is. But as you can imagine, Damien is inevitably born. It all makes sense when you watch it. Don't let the jackal detail fool you, it all comes together quite nicely.
Seen it today, I thought it was pretty good. Glad I saw it at least once, much better than the Exorcist Bealiver. Not as good as the original (but it was never going to be) but a worthy addition to the franchise! Great acting by the cast, beautiful visuals, enough gore and frights, music and soundscape was good, overall pretty decent for a legacy prequel!!
LET'S GOOOOOO!!!!
Nell Tiger Free is excellent in Apple's Servant series.
OMEN III...........?🤔
Thanks to Tom & Shaun! 😨 I thought it was good... except in the original 'Damien' was supposed to have been born of a jackal. They even showed them finding canid bones in the birth mother's crypt. So, aside from that detail, it was fine for what it was. If you want to see an amazing, horrific tv series with *Nell* *Tiger* *Free* - check her out in SERVANT (2019 through 2023). Four seasons; exquisite, all.
Why did you not do an actualy reaction? Maybe you said why but, if you did, I missed it
I went into The First Omen with very little expectations other than I tought the trailer was quite creepy. I was hugely suprised in the best way possible of how good it was as a prequel. There were one or two momentes where it did the "Rember this scene from the original" where I sighed and rolled my eyes a bit but that cirticism is easliy dwarfed by the amazingly forboding atmoshpere, fantastic acitng, goergous cinematogrpahy & haunting soundtrack. Also there was some scenes where I was really suprised they got away with giving this film a 15 rating my face was like 😳lol.
Overall great film! 8/10 I'd say Omen 3 is pretty entertaining for Sam Neil's performance alone even if the film's a bit silly. Omen 4 is absoultue trash haha avoid. The remake from 2006 is just kina pointless it's a shot-for-shot remake like the Psycho remake. Just makes you sit there asking "What is the point of this?" 😂 Awesome review Tom! Looking foward to more reactions/reviews! 🙂
Yes, The Omen III, with Sam Neil as Damian, is well worth reacting to, and provides a great ending to that story.
The remake was terrible. I wouldn't recommend.
I've never seen The Omen IV, but everything about it looks like trash.
Glad the new film is getting a good reception. I'll check it out. definitely looks better than the Exorcist: Believer, which was hot garbage.
Awesome 😎
TOM LOOKS SOOOO SEXY IN THE THUMBNAIL 🥰😜
The Final Conflict (Omen 3) is much better than Damien (Omen 2). The ending is notorious, but Sam Neil as Damien is worth the watch, and the horror element matches the original. Don't bother with the others.
Tom is so handsome ❤
Could they seriously not wait two more months to release it? That automatically makes it feel like a cash grab to me.
Third yes, forth No the fourth was a made for tv movie.
Worst flick I've seen in a while!!🤢 Completely disregards the former 3 movies! Nope...nope...nope
A jackal demon impregnates a woman. A daughter is born, a human with jackal DNA. That jackal woman is impregnated by that same jackal demon. The Antichrist is born from that jackal woman. aka born from a Jackal.
That's the retcon. It does mean having to re-evaluate when someone says Damien was born of a jackal, but based on the film, the woman who birth him was the spawn of a jackal demon. Which means she was a jackal. Which technically keeps the lore intact.
The conception and birth of Trump, basically.....
You need a new life 😊
