In this eye-opening video, we delve into the stunning reasons behind the rejection of Talgo trains by the Indian Railways. The decision was based on a myriad of factors, and we're here to break them down for you.
Indian Railways, known for its extensive network and unique challenges, had some strong reservations about the suitability of Talgo trains for Indian conditions. Among the major issues cited were the trains being too narrow with a low footboard height, making them less accommodating for passengers.
But that's not all! The trains' height was also a concern, as they were deemed too low for the tall platforms commonly found across the Indian railway system. The complex process of separating coaches further raised doubts about their operational feasibility.
Hemant Kumar, a crucial figure in the Railway Board, pointed out that the trains couldn't be put into service in their current form, raising questions about their adaptability.
Furthermore, it was revealed that no foreign company had offered Indian Railways the same technology, leading to concerns about long-term maintenance and parts availability. Railway ministry officials were also hesitant to go for a direct agreement with Talgo.
Additionally, the lightweight nature of the trains was highlighted, with reports of accidents adding to the rejection list.
But there's more to the story! Bharat Forge Infrastructure Limited and Talgo India Private Limited teamed up to establish a joint venture aimed at manufacturing high-speed passenger trains in India, sparking curiosity about the future of train technology in the country.
Join us as we explore these astonishing reasons behind the Indian Railways' decision and what the future might hold for high-speed trains in India. Don't miss out on this intriguing revelation! Like, share, and subscribe to stay updated on all things rail-related.

There was another major reason why Talgo was rejected. There was no other competing railway company that put forward any bids for such high-speed train sets. The rules for contracts in Indian Railways mandate that at least 2 companies or more have to place competing bids to be able to be accepted for a railways contract.
The logic is that competition would ensure that the companies would not resort to price gouging under the threat of termination of the contract and moving over to the next bidder. However, no other railway company was willing to invest in the manufacture of train sets at our broad gauge (1676 mm/ 5ft 6in) standard, and with no competing bids, Talgo was shelved.

Tilting wheel technology of Talgo is the only solution to increase the average speed of Indian Railways. Average speed of Vande bharat train is perfect example. If We have the tilting wheel technology in vande bharat train, the avarage speed will get more than 110Kmph instead of 70-85Kmph

@@sagarvadoliya6252 There is no option other than tilting technology to enhance the average speed. Indian railways will change the Rails but due to the sharp curve average speed will never go up. Even before Vande Bharat India Railways was capable of running the trains up to 160KMPH. But average speed is between 80-90 KMPH.

Talgos bogy and coach design is a safety feature, in the event of a derailment indian caoches climb on other coaches of the train leading to more casualties.

    • @prasannask8320
      @prasannask8320 Před 10 měsíci +10

you are partly correct. old ICF coaches were linked with hook and slot which did not keep the coaches together in any accident.
but current LHB coaches are linked with knuckle lock system which is strong enough to keep the coaches inline for most accidents .
talgo linked wheelset provide stronger benefit but that also means the coaches cannot be separated easily, it will need specialised equipment to separate the coaches so incase any coach has an issue, the entire train set is out of commission.

Didn't the competent engineer from India gave URS (user requirements specifications) to renefe (talgo)?
More than the failure of talgo in India I'd say it was failure to review and understand the specifications of the train set.

Aur young population ke karan aage bhi growth rahega jabki China ka Ganda waala katega kyuki population aged hoo chuka hai. Young log hai nahi waha pe. Savi reason faltu hai except AtmaNirvar Varat & expensive.
    1. Vande Bharat mai v coaches ka mixing nahi hota , satabdi , duranta ka coach nahi lagaya jata.
to Telgo ko v bina coach mixing k run kia ja sakta tha .
    2. Door stairs ko redesign kia ja sakta hai according to IR platform.

Pr talgo apni technology share nahi krna chata tha....
uske wajah se hume saare coaches import krne padte...
Part kharab ho jate to bhi import krne padte....
Sab kuch bahot expensive ho jata...vande bharat se bhi jyada ticket hota😅
Iske pehle bhi Technology transfer na krne ki wajah se bahot saare project cancel kiye gaye the....

Indian trains with LHB coaches run at 130 kph on main line routes while the Gatimaan express runs at 160 kph. Talgo coaches were tested at a top speed of 180kph with a WDP4 diesel locomotive on the Delhi Agra route and at 150 kph on the Delhi Mumbai route behind a WAP5 locomotive and so please correct your data. Otherwise excellent ...
