    The 2 differences between the boss standard duty plow and the super duty plow is the additional cross rib and the mold board is curled more. Great video

    If you put wings on that V plow it will push more snow in scoop position. I assume you retract it or run it straight when you're backdragging.

    In one of stans videos he shows all the downfalls on the boss back drag. I would definitely go with the snow power or short iron. He has another video on those units as well. Night and day differences.

    If your wiper freeze up put your sun visors down this will help by trapping the hot air works great. You seem to be a very laid back owner. Happy plowing be safe out there boys

    Random side note coming from a boss fan, the boss controller has the same feature as the western to run the wings together from side to side or retract/go into scoop

    Snowplows plus sold me a Wideout XL
    I understand that when you stack snow, retract your wings.
    Don't hit curbs with your wings.
    Down fall to this wide out is expensive wings when you damaged them.
    "Freeze up" After plowing wash snow and ice in the tubes where the wings slide in and out.

    • @chachifeere
      @chachifeere Před 4 lety

      The wings will push back when you hit a curl. Not says hit hard but a soft bump

    I've run Boss, Western, Fisher, and Meyers, straight blade, vplow and wings. Never got to run a wide out but if I'd stayed in business I thought it would be the cats meow. Biggest was Boss 8' Poly with Boss wings. 9' 10" of plow. Had a western 8 1/2 pro plow. Both very good. My experience the wider the more snow you move. 1 tip is add 1/2 ounce gas line antifreeze to your pump oil and your well never freeze up.

    So would you guys say you like the wideout best? I had a western pro plow on my wife’s truck and I loved it, but then I upgraded to a boss VXT wish I sold this year, anytime I got a good load or any heavy snow in front of a plow in Scoop position or straight it would dump one of the wings and spill my entire pile 😅 I got offered a price I couldn’t refuse and sold it. I believe I’m going to get a wideout is that what you guys would get? Any response is appreciated!

    I would think for back dragging, I could add a cylinder, or even a hand operated cam type structure to tilt the plow forward, against the springs, to get the blade more vertical to the ground so it won't float as easily. Set it back for normal plowing.

    Boss will to. Western is just a fisher. I've had them all an you will pick that v_plow over the other. Boss only powers the pump motor when lifting or extending wing out much more life out of the pump also less hoses on boss v. The reason I pick the Boss is how easy to connect & disconnect if it's off a tad like any other plow pry bar it. The western & Fisher I see all the time with the legs bent fo. People forgetting them down then makes it a nightmare an no you only need to get the boss on to the hooks the to his your smarthitch switch an it's in. Done

      Had a 8’ unimount and it was unstoppable I miss that plow. Bought a used mvp and had hydraulic issues no one could figure out. Sold it for parts. Bought 9’ straight pro plus and now it’s electrical issues. Got an 8’ boss poly super duty on my newest truck and with fisher and boss being my only dealer supported brands near me (my fisher dealer works on my westerns for me) I think I’ll be switching to boss from now on.

    Looking to get my first snowplow. 50/50 commercial and residential. Is a straight blade with wings comparable to a v or wideout as far as production? Trying to keep costs down. Thanks

    • @Anteater6788
      @Anteater6788 Před 3 lety +2

      We run an 8' straight blade with wings and an 8'2" Boss V with wings, the V will move 30% more snow when running them side by side. I have some residential accounts that I have to remove the wings to fit and that's where a wide out would really excel.
