- The significator of any house is based on the planets in the star occupying that house, that house itself, a planet in the star of owners of that particular house, and the owner of that house. In the KP system, each planet has its sub-lord whose effects are also seen while analyzing any horoscope.
THE FOUR STEPS TO DETERMINE HOUSES SIGNIFIED BY ANY PLANET ARE:
1. The Planet itself (House residence, Houses Owned)
2. The Star Lord of the Planet: (Same house resident, houses owned)
3. The SUB LORD of the Planet:
4. The Star Lord of this sub-lord:
For prediction, we have to consider that all houses are signified by the Planet, some Primarily, and some Secondarily.
4 step theory is derived from the original KP as written by various KP readers.
In the original KP, the notion is that the planet gives results of the houses according to Star-Lord in which it is deposited. The sublord will give an indication of whether the results will be beneficial or malefic.
In 4 steps, the above is reinterpreted. In 4 step, the signification houses of the sublord are also taken into consideration, i.e. planet, its Star-Lord, sublord, and starboard of sublord. All these constitute 4 steps. In 4 step only strong significating are assumed to be fruitful. There are some other rules said to be a corollary of the original KP.

For KP novices, there is some useful teaching content in this video.
KP enthusiasts should take heed of the following, though:
a) The Sublord Speaks series of publications is the initial introduction to the 4-step theory. To his own admission, Sunil Gondhalekar only arranged the 4-step rules in accordance with these publications. Sunil did not write the first draft of 4 Step.
b) Whether to use the Vedic jytoish aspect, the western aspect, both or neither is not clearly stated in KP.
KP enthusiasts should also know about Meena Nadi developed by late Sri R.Gopalakrishna Row (Meena 1) & late Sri N.V.Raghavachary (Meena 2) in 1936. Planet will give the results of its Nakshatra is the core concept of Meena Nadi that late Sri K.S.Krishnamurti referred to but didn't mention about Meena Nadi or name of its developers anywhere in his books. The Placidus house system that is used in KP is not the original idea of the 17th Century Mathematician Placidus de Titis. That house system is originally invented by Italian astronomer Giovanni Antonio Magini. Hence if we will start the discussion about the facts then it will shake the foundation of KP astrology.

I require a small clarification on the last advance KP course 4 step theory I had attended ;
While studying the promise /dasha do we have to consider the signification of all the four steps or only first 2 steps I.e. planet and it's star lord.The 3 & 4 steps I.e sub lord and it's starlord are to be considered for quality of the result
Kindly refer to the book of KP 4 Step Theory written by Mr. Sunil Gondhalekar. All your doubts will get clarified.
