- In perhaps the most striking example of how deluded the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses are, we take a look at their boss' Jesus diatribe against a group he hated during his visit to planet earth... a little group known as the Pharisees... and how the Governing Body either has comprehension issues, Jesus changed his mind about the Pharisees when he got back to heaven or those guys in upstate New York decided on their own to steal and emulate the playbook of a group that their King referred to as 'serpents set to burn in Gehenna' … Laughs will be had.

I remember the no holding hands situation, and now that I think about it I have never seen a married couple just kiss their spouse inside a kingdom hall..... the control with this cult is through the roof.

Stacey, I was in for 50+ years, and much like yourself, served in every position possible. Regular and special pioneering at 100 and 150 hours per month respectively. For some odd reason I wish that I had known you while we were in the cult together. You and I think alike in a lot of ways, and I’ll bet that we could have caused a lot of havoc together! Just saying!

Man your videos are like reading my mind, LOL. Great job as always. For me even the title "elder" seemed to much for any man. Felt like they thought they were better than anyone even if they were loving up on stage. Once they take you in the back room, you see their true colors.
I have a funny experience with David Splane, I saw him in Brooklyn once and he was heading to his office. I actually wanted to say hi to him, but he ran away from me LOL. All of a sudden he went into his secret entrance and disappeared. I actually saw him a month later again in Patterson, and he was surrounded by everyone like a celebrity and he loved it. So I approached him again and this time he let me say hello. I actually told him what he did to me in Brooklyn and his smile turned upside down so fast and his looked told me "get the hell out of my face, your time is over" LOL. I told my ex wife, that's how an anointed brother behaves and she was like, don't do that we're all imperfect. I told her "I don't think so, Jesus would never do that to us". After that day I never went back to Bethel ever again and never trusted anything they said on that Broadcasting.
Incredible story! But not surprised!! I was able to do some projects with Guy Pierce back in the day.... he was nice, but they all carry an aura of superiority. Splane looks very arrogant on camera!!
Stacy , you are so on point with this topic . Even before I fully woke up to this man made org I could see the resemblance of the GB to the Pharisees . Keep on doing what you do, you are helping many to wake up from the cognitive dissidence ! It’s truly amazing how they get away with describing themselves and getting away with it !

One can tell you really enjoyed doing this one. As One who's recently out, this episode was mind bending & the twists my goodness. B4 I got baptized I had that feeling about the GB to the point that I asked my teacher to really convince me that I shd trust them. My head was telling me you've had of this before but I just couldn't connect the dots at the time. Loved this episode.

We have had 2 Watchtower articles recently, one depicting Elders as appointed by Holy Spirit, to convince the 🐑 sheep of this, and another telling us We Can Trust Our Brother's. Is that the truth though? An example; a widowed Sister, recently told by one of our Elder's that he always uses a condom when having sex with women other than his wife, and that he only married his wife because the mother was so nice to him. The widowed Sister told him he was leading a double life, this Elder told her she is much more beautiful than his wife, and that the other Elders are having secret lives also, and told her what they were doing outside the Congregation. No one in the Congregation knows what these Elders do for a living, but they have big homes. Extremely materialistic men. So this Widowed Sister has become inactive now and explains to us why she is keeping her distance from them. These Elders also have demanded my wife divorce me, and offered her a job working in their nice homes and she would be cared for! 🤷 my wife refused them as she did not trust them. We are in a third world country, and these Elders are known to exploit woman house maids, paying them less that $100USD per month, requiring them to work 7 days a week. Imagine trusting evil Elders like this with your wife? It is a lie, never trust your spiritual brothers, especially if they are Elders. They will use your wife for their own selfish desires! We can never trust wicked imperfect Elders, especially if you love your wife, and 👪 family. Elders are not appointed by Holy Spirit, that is a bold face lie! If you believe that, you will pay a heavy price, and so will your wife, and children.
WOW!!!! Just.....WOW!!!!! We had similar things in the states with elders employing people.....but that is absolutely terrible!!!
@@survivingparadisepodcast The problem is how do you encourage this widowed Sister to return to meetings when you know what she is facing? My wife and I will never return to meetings physically. We want to serve Jehovah, but not under Cult like conditions. Not under obedience to imperfect men! Over the last 50 years I have made my mistakes and endured bullying, slander, jealousy, on a regular basis. Thinking is it just me or is something seriously wrong with the Elder, GB Arrangements. The Brother Elder who studied with me was removed for abusing his 16 year old daughter physically in New Mexico, she was removed from the home put in Foster care, disfellowshipped and shunned for the next 30 years of her life. Eventually being reinstated but with mental depression issues. Recently I learned she was sexualy abused. The father who studied with me spent 30 years not serving as a servant. But now is an Elder again after so many years. I wonder who was sexualy abusing his daughter?🤔Daaa!
It was not until 2005 I began exploring the organisation, Silent Lambs, I was floored, but after my shock, my conscience bothered me having to deal with guilt asking Jehovah am I an apostate? It is difficult to attend meetings I do my study, and reaffirm what's is true scripturaly, and reject what is misleading. Comments like "doesn't that make sense" when I read comments like that, time to fact check their interpretation! I really enjoy "Watchtower History" going online bringing up the letters Rutherford wrote to Hitler in support of the persecution of the Jews, and the half truths of historical events of the Society or GB record of events checked with historical records which clearly show outright lies condemning the 8 leaders of JW'S. But my wife still elevates these 8 imperfect men, but cannot follow Elders anymore. She trusts Elders no more. So I read parts of Mathew 23 this morning as we considered daily text, she admitted for the first time these 8 men are glorifying themselves. I just told her everything something is said by them, first read Mathew 23, meditate if they are glorifying themselves, or Jehovah?⚖ she agreed we have to be more careful what we listen to coming from them. As a regular pioneer for many years, she has finally decided at 50 years to do something for herself instead of just suffering through each day with just enough to eat, wear, or exist. She asked if she could start a resturaunt and make her own money. I told her my account is yours! She opened her roadside resturaunt on Saturday. In the Congregation she is known for cooking traditional dishes, taken advantage by the Congrgations cooking for weddings, even the Bethel Family at Regional Conventions and suffering abusive comments from Elders wives as her traditional dishes are supreme! The best! She has letters from the Branch office thanking her for the best food they have ever had. 😋 but never paid 1 cent for her hard work, not for weddings, not by Elders, not by CO'S, not by Bethelites. Not once being helped financially by any Congregation ever!!! Now she is making her own 📈 profits, the restaraunt is full, she is already hiring help! She is so well known for her cooking by these worldly people, the restaraunt has taken on a really great atmosphere, hard working Africans come and relax from their hard work enjoying relief from the hot African Sun! My wife's smiles are real now, not fake like before. Walk in the kitchen and she is 💃 dancing as she works. Life is better without interference from Elders, and 👃 JW's sisters! I enjoyed your podcast! I agree we need to question the GB's motives! Who really is the Faithful and Discreet Slave? Not 8 imperfect men in New York for sure!

As the Elders have the power to say a witness does not qualify. As is the case with this widowed Sister. 2 Witnesses plus children hearing. The head Elder excusing the witnesses as unqualified. One cannot make these things up! You just 🙏 there is a God who cares, or karma comes around and catches up with them and you get to witness it. 😉 The 4 Elders that accused me in 2005 of trying to overthrow the Elder arrangement and got caught in a lie in the Judicial against me have all died from 🍸 alcoholic related disease, including the CO, who was their drinking partner, especially at Quickbuilds when they drank together partying late into the night! Maybe the CO also drank with Morris the turd at New York facilities. 🤔

Dear Stacy , so true. From the opening lines of your podcast I said: the pharisees. If you (plural) are a sincere Bible reader and researcher you naturally draw the line to organised religion and the leadership they automatically generate. It is extremely pharasaical. Its the only way an organisation without a definite product can survive, control and manipulation. I often used to ask, if Jesus came back, would he be a Jehovahs Witness and follow the mandates of the GB and the Org? The answer in my mind was always a NO.

This was excellent-as always! The only thing that counts is: Title, Position and Status! I always said the 8 popes remind me of the Pharisees. I have also been thinking about these similarities. So many rules that set up a toxic environment of judging, all the judging. No mercy. This is very evident in the new order for pioneers to return to their 70 hours a month. I think the vast majority of pioneers were very hopeful that the GB would lighten their load and back off the hour requirement and now they are struggling to figure out how they will manage. Another title with a heavy load attached to it.
Pioneers take a beating financially and physically. Driving around in circles to make some completely fabricated goal of 70-90 hours. All MAN MADE.....it's stunning and tragic!
I bet the JW Pioneers are also taking a lot of emotional stress from being in that cult.

When the elders always tried to control my family and I making us feel unworthy cuz we couldn't give as much money they asked for from the podium cuz we were really poor. My children love Jehovah God and Jesus Christ and they got the point of Jehovah God and Jesus Christ's love for ALL MANKIND TOGETHER. Our clothes weren't really good enough. So as the elders tried to control me I had to tell them that JESUS CHRIST WOULD NEVER TREAT ME LIKE YOU DO AND JEHOVAH GOD AND JESUS CHRIST WOULD NEVER TREAT MY FAMILY THE WAY YOU DO AND I LEFT THE ORGANIZATION KNOWING WE ARE VERY LOVED BY JESUS CHRIST AND JEHOVAH GOD. I'm so proud that GOD SEES WHAT'S HAPPENING AND GOD WILL JUDGE THEM TOO 🙏

I used to be proud whenever a worldly person would comment that we were only following the president in NY, to then say I didn’t even know who the guy was. So I was stunned when finding out how the GB is working now... couldn’t believe at first they are at the top of the organisation.
Now I’m becoming more and more surprised that my family continues to be ’in’. Some of them are quite smart! It’s strong, this cognitive dissonance... I didn’t even know what it was before diving back into my past after 14yrs physically out. I thought I was pretty much out mentally as well, but now I know that really only happened a few months ago.

The GB is no doubt the image of the pharisees but how many of the cult followers will take a discerning look and realize this. My sister for example; she joined the cult in 1967 and has been in the cult for 55 years. In fact because of my sister I was duped into wasting 10 years of my life in the cult (1975 - 1985). To my JW sister blood family means nothing. She has disowned not only me as her brother but she has also disowned three of her own children. Now in the case of my sister; if she came to realize she was in a cult and not in the (so called) truth what would she do. I think she would stay in but be mentally out. Why? Because 55+ years means the cult is all she knows. All of the friends she has are cult members and as they call it "spiritual brothers and sisters". After 55+ years where would she go if she were to leave the cult behind? After 55+ years how would she put back together her blood family that she has estranged herself away from and also disowned?
It's that age group that have most difficult time leaving. The cognitive dissonance is strongest with that generation. They NEED it to be the truth....it's devastating. I'm sorry it's affected your family :(
I know EXACTLY how you feel. My 84 year old mother is in too, at least she has not shunned me. (That's why I keep my channel discrete). But part of me doesn't want her to wake up, for the same reasons you mention...it would probably kill her, and I'm not using a figure of speech.

I like the statement that the Pharisees "built a wall around the law": they added their principles to the law so that no one came even remotely close to breaking the law. The Governing Body does the same with biblical principles.

When I was growing up as a JW in the 70s - 90s I used to think there was a "halo" around Brooklyn Bethel, and the GB got their direct enlightenment via God's holy spirit and no one knew who the GB were. Today the veil is lifted and you listen to these 8 conceited clowns, living like millionaires, with their Rolex watches, expensive suits, flying first class worldwide and being treated like gods, and adored by their mindless worshippers.
Great video, I've always thought that WT impose more rules than the Pharasies. They fit Matthew 23 perfectly, and Paul's description of "angels of light" but with an evil dark side.
I went to Brooklyn Bethel several times and saw the same things!! I recommend all men become elders and every person visit Bethel. It blows the top off the insanity for anyone that isn't consumed by the brainwashing. It's a poorly run corporate property!

When it comes to justice, compassion and faithfulness...good examples for the first two, and I'd use the kingdom hall flips scam to illustrate the faithlessness of these 8 (oops...10!) clowns toward people who were proud to have built and own their place of worship, only to have it pulled out from under them.

I remember these elders and circuit overseers. They act like their shit don't sink. They act like they are perfect. They always made me feel there is something wrong with me. They wanted me to treat them like they were represented God themselves. They had the attitude that you treat them like the way you show reverence to Jehovah. If you think and act the way the elders are, then you will get God'approval. Stacy, do you agree with that? Please tell me what I said is wrong? Please someone tells me something I left out? Nice application of Matthew 23 and the pharisees. I have drawn the same conclusion many times over the past 2 years. The "Org". was much better off when nobody knew who the "governing body" was except Bethelites. And even then, they didn't bow down and kiss their feet every time we'd walk by one! When these monthly broadcasts started being shown a few years ago before I left, I thought to myself, "why are these men elevating themselves over the organization? This is completely contrary to what Jesus taught. He said "he who exalts himself, will be humbled,......the greatest one among you must be your minister, (Greek, servant, slave, house servant, attendant.) "they like the prominent places,....to be viewed by men"!!
All the works the governing body do, like the Pharisees, they do to be viewed by men"....Matt. 23: 5). I have always "walked by faith, not by sight," as implored by the Apostle Paul at 2 Cor. 5: 7. I built a strong faith in the Bible as God's word by actually reading it and other reference books in the 60's and 70's. I didn't need to watch a video of someone giving a talk to build my faith! Remember Stacey when we actually used this "new invention" that apparently today's generation doesn't know exists: A BOOK! Let's say that again, class, "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK"! Yes, it has paper pages in which writing can be found so that you can compare what you're reading to the context from before it and after it! Isn't that neat!! Surviving, you consistantly mirror my exact thoughts. Its almost frightening. The first minute I heard you, I immediately got wierded out because I thought I knew you from somewhere. Lol! Yes, I totally noticed the same stuff about the GB & just got more & more uncomfortable as I read the bible & the literature. I went home from conventions just in turmoil. I was stunned that no one else was seeing & hearing what I was. Again, its mind blowing! My family all think Im possessed! Looks 👀 pretty clear to me! You can ask a JW to read Matthew chapters 23 & 24 & 2 Timothy chapter 3...& its like its in a different language to them. Now that is really scarey! I reviewed them after listening to this episode & for the first time noticed 2 Tim 3:7 "always learning & yet never coming to an accurate knowledge of truth."! Ha ha!!! Lol! 🤣😂🤣

I completly swear, while doing the speach sketch I found the Franz Book, after reading it made me feel i no longer wanted to be a "hero" by letting the goberning body know how wrong they where misinterpretating the bible. this was just 4 month ago I'm just 20.
Wise decision Night. There isn't much you can accomplish with that route. However, reading Ray Franz books is a must for any JW...it truly pulls back the curtain on everything!
Ha! Great point re Jesus never talking about EARTH. This used to puzzle me and all I found was Matt 5:3, quoting Psalms 37:11 the meek shall inherit the earth.

Stacy I think you missed a great point about the SO CALLED GOVERNING BODY that nowhere in Scripture does it say that the APOSTLES would have SUCCESSORS. The JWS have done exactly what the Catholic Church has done with their Pope and the Mormons have done the same with what they call the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, all saying to that they are in direct communication with CHRIST and JEHOVAH .

I was told the Bible was written for the "annointed" not the rank and file. But yet, it is still the rank and file's guide book. Also, I've never heard of one gb member dieing from refusal of blood, not even as an example for the others, but then they just go to the bethel infirmary aka nursing home and disappear from any mention.
I wish some of my JW friends could/would, see this! But, sadly, I KNOW, THEY NEVER WILL.
Don't lose hope...I've been out for 30 years, and over that time I have reconnected with friends who also left after me. Also, I know for a fact (because they told me themselves) that many witnesses watch my videos and are having questions and doubts. So, these videos and these channels WORK. I have the proof, and it's heartening!

In my experience since the 70's, I feel it was just as bad back then except the GB was in the shadows, especially Leo Greenlees 😆. They at one time said a couple could get a scriptural divorce for "perversions" within marriage (1974 WT) a view reversed in 1983. We couldn't give talks if our hair was over our ears and on and on.
Why do you say the Insight books ate gone? They're still on the JW Library app and continue to be updated.
They are no longer in print stoobpendous....you can't order or get a print copy. They're collector items now
WTBTS will have JW searching scriptures and focusing on WTBT publications. But, the reality searching scriptures does not have everlasting life! John 5:39. The reality WTBTS does not know Jesus so they are like the scribes!

I have a friend who grew up JW, but wasn't baptised. This year she started a "Bible" study and has slowly become paranoid, incapable of critical thinking, scared of everything, and contemptuous of anything outside JW doctrine. She was genuinely floored when I told her I don't believe the 144,000 nonsense. Could not get her head round it. I also told her that as a bisexual apostate member of "Christendom" I'll be dust at Armageddon - she couldn't get her head round that either. Cognitive dissonance is a bitch, it really is. I'm slowly watching me friend become a completely different person, and it's so sad. I wish I could convince her to listen to your podcasts but I'm afraid you're on her blacklist Stacey.

Oh, I'm sure I'm an apostate demon for her right now LOL....but I would love if something landed with her at some point. What made her decide to start studying after never being baptized?? On the "kingdom of the heavens" that Jesus spoke of:
There are respected Bible scholars (like Bart Ehrman) who think that Jesus was speaking of a political kingdom of God on earth, in line with preceding apocalyptic Judaic beliefs. It is hard to piece out however, exactly what Jesus really said and what was attributed to him later by Christians. The Gospel of John, for example, seems to have a lot of... weird stuff. For example, Jesus discussion with Nicodemus in John 3 (or was it 2?) is a really good double meaning in Greek (being born from above/born again) that confuses Nicodemus. This double meaning falls apart in Aramaic, pointing to the fact that Jesus might have never actually said these words, or had this discussion (in contrast, when Jesus said that he was lord of the sabbath, that is a statement that works even better in Aramaic than Greek).
Again, it's really tricky to piece out what the historical Jesus truly said and thought as it is reported by later Christians, mainly of the Pauline strain, who did develop a belief in a heavenly kingdom in the vein mainstream Christianity thinks of it today.
Also, the actual historical pharisees were the moderates of their era, trying to make the law something the people could really keep.
And Paul, while not a feminist (1 Corinthians 11 with the headcovering), the worst passages concerning the view of women are of questionable attribution. Most critical scholars do not think that Paul actually wrote the letters to Timothy we have in the Bible, and the passage in 1 Corinthians 14 is also a bit odd. Even though the words in chapter 11 are not great on the view of women, it does still imply that women were and could speak in public and in the congregation (why cover your head to pray if you never do it?). The verse that women should keep quiet is also a bit odd in the middle of the admonishments concerning prophesying in the congregation (which the chapter gets back to right after). Those words have also been found in different positions in the chapter in different manuscripts, which also opens up more room for doubt as to whether those words were originally Paul's.
Further, at the end of Romans Paul we have this verse (the rendition is from the New International Version, but feel free to check more translations on bible hub):
"Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews who have been in prison with me. They are outstanding among the apostles, and they were in Christ before I was." (Romans 16:7)
Paul seems to call this Junia (a woman's name, the male name Junias wasn't a thing in the first century) an outstanding apostle, further indicating that Paul didn't really have much issue with prominent women and further casting doubt that Paul would really be the guy to write those words.
I'm not trying to say Paul was a saint, he could be really vicious to Christians that went against his view (like when he "hoped" that some gentile Christians that wanted to follow the law would become eunuchs when they got circumcised), and his admonition against "soft men" really isn't great. He seems like he could be a very unpleasant person. It's just that the particular view of women that is attributed to him might not have really been his. So just trying to make a pushback on a very specific point.
FANTASTIC breakdown, and I didn't get too deep on that one point, but I appreciate you sharing. YES! There is much to support the character of Jesus was openly talking about his day, political infrastructure, etc. LOVE IT... it's so easy to study

It just doesn’t make any sense to me because when I make a comment on any other type of subject other than religious on other channels with other topics I never get blocked or Removed it’s only when it comes to religious topics, very disconcerting, disturbing, and perplexing when on a public forum in a so-called free country and you cannot speak your thoughts. somebody’s removing my comments with the ability to do so, my comments are basically in support of your points and some others on certain aspects of the organization, it is frustrating as heck especially when you take your comments seriously, I do a great deal of thinking before I respond and then to see my comments practically instantaneously removed within a minute or two, well you could only imagine how disturbing that is. I guess whoever it is has it out for me because for the life of me I just cannot get out a comment on any of the XJW channels anymore. It may be time for me to focus on other Internet possibilities to discuss freely such matters, but I do appreciate your channel and will continue to listen. Most of what you say is very thought-provoking and based on the reality, the ugly truth as they say. Sometimes it’s easier for people to hear the truth when there is some humorous elements I suppose, but for most these are serious topics that should be taken seriously for the most part. I'm pretty sure you are referring to the religious leaders of false religion referred to in the bible as a harlot. JWs and the GB does not associate with spiritual harlotry.
