- The SITKA Dew Point rain system has been re-designed for 2021, and we had the opportunity to test it out last season before it's release!
The original Dew Point series was discontinued at the end of 2017 and has been re-introduced to the Big Game category to replace the Cloudburst series as the go-to versatile waterproof system. Your reviews are outstanding. I have watched several on Sitka gear, and they have helped me with my purchases. So thank-you! I would love to see a comparison of the Dew Point with the Thunderhead. I live and hunt in Northern Idaho. I just purchased the Thunderhead jacket. What I don’t like is no pit zips for venting. I can’t figure out why they are not included?!? But I like the quiet exterior layer versus the Dew Point. Anyway, I would love to see you do a full review and comparison on them including the pants. Thanks.

How're the pants for wind blocking? This's for elk hunting in Alberta Canada, I'm debating between these pants and the cloudburst. What would you recommend between these two comparisons? It can get quite windy and cold in Alberta even in September
Dew Point is going to be super lightweight, but still windproof and rainproof. Sitka actually discontinued the cloudburst in 2021, so I think it would be pretty hard to find those. You might want to take a look at the stormfront. They are made out of a little heavier material, so it might be better for cold / durability. If you want something even warmer, you might want to check out the thunderhead.

I'm looking for some rain gear for my system. I have stratus jacket and bibs. I was looking at this or the thunderhead system. I plan on an Elk or Caribou hunt next year, I also hunt a lot in the Adirondacks of NY. Im not sure if I want packable or something that can be part of a system which is what I understand the thunderhead to be. Whets your advice? I saw you recommended the KINGs to someone else.
Hey Daniel! I think it mostly depends on how packable you want it to be. The Dew Point is going to significantly pack down smaller, but the Thunderhead has a fleece outer so it should be a little more quiet. If you were going to be doing tons of Western hunting I would probably say go with the dew point, but where you're hunting mostly in NY, you'll probably get more use out of the Thunderhead. It'll still be a great piece when you head out on you Elk or Caribou hunt. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Sizing to fit over gear ?
Hi would this be able to to be worn when it’s low 30’s with a base layer and a mid layer? And how durable is it?
You might be cold when in a static location. We would recommend a puffy jacket to go under this.
I’m looking for a rain jacket that I can wear fishing down in Louisiana. How warm is this? I know it’s uninsulated, but I’m wondering if it’s too warm to wear year round? Also considering the Vapor SD by Sitka
The Dew Point is also very lightweight, and breathable. Either would be great for you, but Dew Point is going to be more durable.
Thank you for the quick reply. The durability aspect is what has me leaning Dew Point, but I’m hesitant as to how warm it may be in the summer months. I suppose it is always returnable. Great review!
Thunderhead or dewpoint for bow hunting?
Dew Point. It's a little louder but it breathes better, and moves with you better.
Whats The difference from The cloudbrust?
Cloudburst is like twice the weight, but more durable as well. The pants come with suspenders and elastic at the ankle.

Great response Banabottom. Cloudburst overall just has more features, and the Dew Point is more of a minimal design.
Downpour doesn't do much justice than the dew point system
It's hard to go wrong with the Dew Point!
Sounds like it makes alot of noise
Other then that though looks great
It's lightweight and durable. So you are gonna sacrifice a little on the noise side of things. Most people don't use it very often, plus most don't have to stalk in close while wearing it.
