Oscar De La Hoya won the Olympic Gold Medal in boxing in 1992 and went on to win 10 world champion boxing matches in six divisions during his boxing career. De La Hoya was nicknamed "The Golden Boy” of boxing by the media when he represented the United States at the 1992 Summer Olympics. Outstanding interview Allison... At the height of my boxing writing career, Oscar was a true warrior and one of my favorite fighters... My favorite fight of his was against Fernando Vargas back in 2002... I am glad to see he is doing well these days after his admitted struggles...
