Not looking forward to a new update. Everytime I have the previous update running smoothly, they bring out a new one that screws things over.
So ground resolution improvements could be a couple of things, the ground physics mesh could be smaller / tighter together, so you get more calculations per second as you're rolling, or it could means they're using a greater number of bits for the physics vectors as they apply to the aircraft. Both are analogous to a display resolution, you could think of the mesh as being display pixels, or a higher number of "brightness" levels for those pixels.
Resolution in all cases means "the accuracy with which you can resolve (determine) a specific value"
I do wish they would fix the misplaced/double cursor when in VR and looking at an instrument view. This bug was introduced back in SU8 or 7. Strangely, looking at the forums, it does not appear to affect a lot of people. One forum member said one fix was to close your right eye to get the true position of the cursor, not an ideal solution
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Su15 should come out when it's good to go. We don't want to be begging for hotfixes...
I'm looking forward for MSFS2024. Hope it will be a big improvement. Fs2020 still feels like a Beta.
Great update, your prediction was correct, quick question, have they fixed 'windows mode' by default when it launches ... it will be nice to get back to how it used to be instead of having to hit alt/enter every time to put it into 'full screen mode'....
Thanks! I'm looking forward to the update, and honestly, another delay wouldn't really bother me. I'd prefer it later but finished. However, I'm desperately waiting for the Dukes from Black Square, which won’t be released until after SU15... We'll see.
I'd imagine you know by now that BS released the Dukes with the option to install pre-SU15, along with the option to reinstall as an SU15-compatible product.
Yes sir. Thanks. I'm so happy about it and have already spent a couple of hours on both beautiful machines!
Thank you for sharing the update. I came in very late but that's okay. I'll keep the 2020 until I get a new PC.
Hi, what airport are you at 01:52? Looks quite nice! Thank you!
This was good info on 15. Thanks. I wonder if the smoothness you saw at the big airports, in the beta, was because they were following the methods that were used by AutoFPS and reducing the TLOD as the altitude decreased. I would think Asobo could do that too. I liked using AutoFPS but it didn't seem to play nice with the A2A Comanche. Whenever I flew the Comanche with AutoFPS, the throttle seemed to be affected by the TLOD changes. Either way, I hope you're wrong about 2024 release being delayed lol. I'm anxious to try it out.
ground resolution improvements might mean now we will have much less noticeable sighting of wheels clipping into the ground?
hello great video! where is the release of sim update 15 because it is still impossible for me to have it?
Performance on the two latest Beta releases is abysimal for me on a high end system. LOD extremely bad, loss of 25 to 30 percent on dense sceneries with FSLTL enabled. Never thought I'd ever be down to less than 30 fps (with frame generation!) where I was never below 45 fps before.
Wow. That's ugly, really sorry to hear that!
@@IslandSimPilot Especially considering that the first beta ran really well and things got progressively worse...
True!!!
Same for me
@@IslandSimPilot Nice improvement on Series X. No problems at all for me.
Im so happy to see them improving planew on the ground i just started flying propler planes and it alwasy pulling to left or right
Sounds good to me if this will be the last update. I'll stick with this version for some time then. Unless the new version provides an effective performance improvement and/or fixes the various ground anomalies when flying low to make the experience feel more realistic in VR, so I'll likely be here for a long time. I don't have any faith Asobo will be bringing out a ground breaking product with 2024.
hello can you do somthing about the thunder storms there are none thanks
So is the release tommorow?
A quality update is more important then anything less then that. Patience is a virtue...for a reason lol.
I predict SU 15 comes out tommorrow and I will spend all night on it.
I really hope so!!
Im worried about messing it with my settings. I spent great deal of time to tweak the s*it out of this game to get performance I need.
Mais ducoup elle ne dort pas aujourd'hui
SU 14 is so stable unlike the previous ones that I haven't had a single CTD in 3 or 4 months so far. I wish they could make the new update as stable.
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
I thought the rudder sensitivity issues were my controller or settings. I agree on tail draggers for same reason.
What's the problem with tail draggers ?
@@TheViviansen They are hard to control on take-off because of the rudder issues and because they have less runway visibility from the cockpit initially.
@@julioguardado If you don't lock down the tail on takeoff and landing they will dance left and right like crazy. Before giving throttle on takeoff just pull back the stick, then throttle and keep your tail down until the bird goes up. You need to do this even on landings: just land at stalling speed then push back the stick to lock down the tail. Depending on the plane, it requires practice.
Good job on the update looking forward to the update and really hope this will enhance the Xbox issues so I'm willing to wait a little longer if that's what it takes
The overcast lighting is WEIRD. It's like nighttime on the ground and looks muddy..I hope they address this issue or I will not be playing it.
Jorg has already said Microsoft will not be paying for a weather API from Meteoblue because of the cost. 12 months subscription for 250,000 API calls per annum is approx US$2,500. As MSFS will require tens of millions of API calls in 12 months, the cost would be US$25 billion per annum.
Pretty sure MS will be able to negotiate a better deal with them ;-)
Is the 7th of May for sure? Or delayed again? I dont want to have update during long flight. It is going to restart I guess.
No it won’t restart if you’re flying. It would update next time you launch. No worries.
They still have not fixed KDFW either everything is still floating
When ?
What time GMT will it be released? It is 11.30AM Sydney time here.
Marketplace is always after 3 30PM CST in the USA. I get Marketplace updated generally around 10 00AM most weeks here in SA.
@@theaustralianconundrum - Thanks, but I think it has now been postponed indefinitely?
@@D800Lover nope.. 14th May
@@theaustralianconundrum - OK, so that was announced?
@@D800Lover Go Google SU15 update delay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is wrong with you????
when it does release do the memory changes mean Process lasso is no longer needed?
Depends on a lot of things. The great thing about Process Lasso is you can just not start it one time and see how the sim runs. I tend to like running fewer things, so if the sim performs well for me without something I don’t use it. So you’ll have to give it a go and see, but the good news is, it’s easy to do that.
Will i have to uninstall process lasso once this update comes out? (Regarding MSFS)
@@simonblandon965 Nope, you won't have to uninstall it. It should run perfectly fine with no worries.
Will there be update 15 tomorrow? 05/07
He predicted NO 😁
I'm very unhappy with 2024's reliance on the cloud.I shall wait and see what happens to those users that take it on,no news regarding an upgrade path so it looks as though we are expected to buy it and install it again..............................................
Taildraggers rock! You're missing out.
I’ve been flying the Beech 18 and having a BLAST!
@@IslandSimPilot Excellent! Thanks for prepping us for update 15. Many thanks.
Will we get true multi-thread support with 2024?
For sure.
@@IslandSimPilot Series X is already multi threaded for MSFS 2020.
I think msfs 2020 users should get a discount for 2024 as 2020 has been basically a beta test and a download simulator. I bought the top option and can’t say I’ve been happy with it. I’m running a 13700k with a 4090 and along with other issues, stutters while on final are very irritating.
PMDG 777 or SU15 first? Make your bets...
SU 15 100%. The 777 won't launch until SU 15 is out.
Don't you think there's a possibility it's released for PC but not for Xbox? After all, the base program was available for PC long before it was on Xbox.
I hope so
So stupid it’s all ready may 7 and still no update
Can’t wait to download it at 2 Mbits/s
Use a VPN, connect to the Netherlands.
@@IslandSimPilot I'm at 1,000MB/sec. And no one uses VPN's.
@@theaustralianconundrum You mean 1000Mb/s. And you must be the only person on the planet who gets that speed. I have a 1Gb/s fiber connection to my house, and I get 8-20Mb/s download speed in the sim - at best.
@@eracer1111 I mean 1,000 megaBITS/sec fibre to my home under my enterprise business plan. No one here can get 1,000 mega BYTES/sec and neither can you.
I'm bummed out they make the PC version the same as the console version. If i wanted to play xbox games I'd buy an xbox.
AMEN!
Hi, captain. For me, they could even withdraw from the release. I'll be happy with what i have now, i have the strange impression that things that don't interest me will improve and things that are important to me will be ruined. So, i don't care.
Yeah I thought SU14 was pretty good as well.
@@IslandSimPilot SU15 is substantially better on Series X. Very very good now.
You didn't show 1.37.16.0. There are many aircraft unaffected by the change to WASM from .15.0 Even 3rd party are flying fine such as Inibuilds A320 V2 and bredok3D's A 380-800 being perfectly fine for me on Series X. You are just "guessing" SU15 won't go public on the 7th May 2024. I'm already ending the 7th May 2024 so of course it'll be the 8th for Australia. MSFS 2024 releases globally in late September 2024. MSFS will continue as a standalone product and will still be supported.
Interesting! While the beta is stable, the Sim for me is just similar to SU14 as far as performance goes, if not worse, and far worse than SU13! Lots of stutters! 12900 KF, RTX3090, 64GB ram
I've heard that from quite a few people, actually, particularly with really high end systems. I wonder why.
@@IslandSimPilot Series X are SOC. PC's are old school component technology that are basically like the first Mobo tower PC's from the late 80's. Only the components have changed but the principle is still bottleneck city and driver issues that are rarely optimized by most gamers who are anything except Microsoft hardware engineers.
If the update could get me another 5fps or more then i would be well happy
Your right its delayed again
I’m expecting it to be delayed again 🙄
I wish they would cut Xbox loose or put it on a separate update stream. It just hems up these updates.
What type of PC do you play on?
I agree I wish they would cut Xbox loose or put it on a different update. Real simmers have a good PC
@@lsubesteva It's a mid range PC. 12400 Intel, Nvidia 3060, 32Gb RAM, 1GB NVME SSD and a 500Gb SATA SSD. It gets the job done for now, it could be a little better. I do have an Xbox X as well I never use anymore.
I’m hoping for improved memory for Xbox simmers.
I know for sure that's one of the things they've focused on.
@@IslandSimPilot An extra 1.5GB has been allocated in fact. It's nice now.
What about replays for the Xboxers?
@@Marathonianbull NOT YET.
I read the patch notes they are allowing for memory to reduce chances of black screens
Come on MSN or ASOBO BRING ITTTTTTTTTTTT SU 15 Awwww do we have to get SU 15 sigh okkk good thing this video is here in the mean time I will go and hide in the islander and pull the blanket over my head
Split the release between XBox and PC.
Ain't gonna happen.
@@IslandSimPilot Sadly...😐
the one single word i have heard the most since msfs was released, every update that dropped... every.single.time: issues, issues, issues.... its ridiculous.
Where is it? 😂
Gonna be in hell. It will never be released 😂
and still no SU 15 :D
I agree. If that kind of bug exists for Xbox, it makes zero sense for them to update it. The reputational damage alone would be harmful as we get closer to MSFS2024. On that point, we shall see. My biggest challenge now is that I have upgraded to a 4k TV for MSFS, it just doesn't run right. From a hardware perspective, there is zero reason for me to encounter what I am suffering with, which is serious performance degradation, even running without the DLSS downscaling back into the native 4k resolution. What I don't know yet is if this is my hardware or a memory issue (I doubt the latter), since Process Lasso tells me my memory usage is in the mid to low 40s. That said, I can't do anything other than running the sim; the minute I do so or change any camera settings, the sim is unflyable.
I mention this here because my fear is that Sim Update 15 will make my situation worse. Candidly, I am hoping for a delay to get time to troubleshoot this more to see if the culprit is the TV or something deeper involving the graphics card.
Hopefully they will delay.
Well it looks like your first prediction was right it's nowhere to be seen.
If this goes into effect tomorrow
Thatll mean 500+ of my own cash down the drain for nothing
I rlly rlly hope they delay this if not post pone it indefinitely until its fixed.
I have no choice but to update as well
As im on cloud gaming
And to those who say why not get a pc
I have one but the GPU and CPU are dead
And rn im extremely tight on money
You spent 500 on an x box to play MSFS? If so your money went down the drain the day you did that
@@nascimentol835no. I meant. The planes I spent. Money on
What I'm confused how does this update take away your planes you bought??? @@Faye-9896
Pity they can't ditch the Xbox, it has caused more issues than anything, they should have just kept it PC only. If they screw this up then ass-hobo and Microsoft can do one ill move to x-plane 12 permanently.
Yeah for sure, however it is a revenue source, and even for us PC'ers, the more revenue for them the better. That way they keep developing.
Booooo. But I guess that would force me to get a PC to be able to keep flying. 😁
not every one can afford a pc and not every one as room for one and the xbox series x has proved it can run msfs better then some pcs ive had really not that much of a problem on my x think most issues are with airports ive only downloaded 2 airports and a hell of a lot of pc simmers have had problems too but i guess its the xbox series thats caused all that too
@@IslandSimPilot Series X is excellent. Gaming PC's are expensive and under optimized. They will all be SOC's by 2034 for most new PC's.
Runs generally very well on my Xbox, only a couple of slowdowns and unexpected crashes 😅 That is with all possible MS downloads and several add-ons installed. If I uninstall a few of these, it never fails or stutters. 🎉
This game is trash now that all wat a joke asobo lost control on the game trash trash
