Good 'old Saint George, gave us some cracking match-ups and was sensible to retire when he did.
Agreed. To many go on too long.
Agreed
I think he did retire at the right time when he lost to Callum Smith but I do wish heâd have fought DeGale first.

the production is amazing, hope they can continue this competion
I wish they had this production for Taylor vs Prograis but for some reason Sky ditched it for their same old normal setup
SiLo Mixing and Mastering I agree it was extremely disappointing really, considering the magnitude of the fight
@@SiLoMixMaster matchroom's bitch ass got involved
@@CultureBoxing yeah should've let the Sauerlands do their thing because they absolutely nailed this production. Great buildup, great lighting, great camerawork, great commentators, etc. Just a top class job done altogether.
Well i think all the promotion teams should come together and do a Heavyweight one with,Fury,Joshua,Whyte,Wilder,Ruiz,Parker and two of the young guns,Dubois and Hrgovic.......Bless
How the hell didn't the commentators see his arm pop out?! Made me wince straight away. Was a massive Froch fan but gained a huge amount of respect for Groves after their fights. Was happy he went on to have success after their fights, proper hard bastard.
Yes lad!!!!
Commentators annoy me. If Eubank had found a knockout punch, the commentators would've been singing his praises. But amazing performance from Groves.
Josh, God knows, I saw it straight away, you could tell the way George was trying to adjust it. Then afterwards you get Junior telling how he had great success in the last round. The tosser couldn't even finish a man with one arm.
Those commentators were bloody lame. I mean I'm not saying I'm a huge Eubank fans but it was pretty obvious who they favored. Not very professional to say the least!
What success? Eubank beat the shit out of him and he was embarrassed by Smith with a crushing knockout. He had no business fighting Smith because Eubank beat his ass. Eubank vs Smith was the fight you should have seen and it would have been a good fight. Instead you got to see the old wash woman get KO'd because he didn't deserve to be there.
That was a fantastic tournament, thanks WBSS !
Chris is good
How groves carried on in the last round with his shoulder out????
Fckng beast.
It's agony beyond mention.

The last round didn't matter, Groves had the fight won before that. When the cars began showing up in the parking lot that night, Groves had the fight won. Eubank could only have won if he came early and kissed the asses of everyone in the building and begged for a fair decision. The 2 commentators convinced me of that. They told me repeatedly the shortcomings of Chris, the things he was doing wrong, the corrections he needed to make.
When Chris landed a clean shot, they pointed out that Groves intelligently tied him up. When neither was throwing punches, the commentators told me that the tempo fit Groves down to the ground. When Chris was at range, they told me he needs to get closer. When he got closer, they said he was ineffective. I saw him clobber George many times when they were in-fighting, but the commentators must have been on a break because they went silent. I thought they slipped out to go to confession.
For years I was under the impression that it was dangerous to hit behind the head. Apparently not because Groves landed most of his punches there. In the last round both fighters paused very briefly. George had an open shot at the back of Chris's head. They were standing upright, you could see George thinking about it, he had a decision to make. He was getting his ass kicked at the moment, he decided the hell with Chris, I'm taking whatever I can get. He pounded Chris on the back of his head, I cringed, the referee did nothing. I deduced that I had been wrong all of this time, it wasn't dangerous after all.
I'll have to adjust, I thought that punches landed was the thing that counted the most. I can't however, expect everyone to follow the rules as written in some silly book. If the tempo fits one fighter over the other, if spacing is given it's proper due, if one guy's style doesn't satisfy, if the referee is biased and the commentators are intoxicated and reading from a script, get over it already. This isn't a church service, it's boxing. Deeply ingrained in lying, cheating and stealing, you know the tradition. Everyone gets drunk and our guy wins. if you want the truth to prevail forget about boxing,............you can add the court system.....politics and especially Hillary and the other brainwashed terrorists on the left ( might as well get my money's worth ). Peace and love to all my friends in the U.K.
That's shows the heart of a Lyon
Yes the production was amazing. Better than anything sky sports or BT has ever done.
Eubank didnât have the skill set or the tools to beat Groves and if he fought him 100 times it would have been the same result.
Groves gave it one last shot to win the title and did that during the tournament itâs a shame his shoulder popped before the fight with Smith it definitely effected him.
Eubank JNR will be back in 2021 do not write him off.
Nope
i could watch these fight all day. this is good stuff
Thanks for posting. I originally viewed with another broadcast team that realized that Groves had a damaged arm in the 12th. Knowing that made the viewing more tense.
How Groves dealt with the adversity in the last round. Great defence and firing back when he needed to accurately stopping Eubank unloading without reprise.
Groves was and will always be an absolute WARRIOR; he has such a great energy about him and is as honest as the day is long. Enjoy a well earned rest mate and a great retirement.
Who won the 12th round?
@MrMarco855 groves looked amazing still in the last round even with one hand he had him missing and stumbling foreward. That's mostly why eubank took the last because groves had one arm. Never the less it was only 4 rounds he managed to take through the whole fight
Though, Eubank lost, but showed great resilience and heart!
Eubanks Jr. has the skill set of a rock em sock em robot
Gotta say he's fun to watch though.
Its his feet hes punch work is pretty good its just his feet don't follow hes clumsy
His legs are all over when heâs striking, so open to counter punches which is something George prides himself on.
Eubank won the fight however, would have had a better fight with Callum Smith.

And he STILL hurt Eubank in the process
@@BIIIIIGMAN Exactly when did he hurt Eubank in the 12th? You can't name the time because you're full of shit. The old wash girl never came close to hurting Eubank the entire fight. Eubank busted his chops plenty but Groves did squat. He didn't deserve to win and he got his ass handed to him in the finals.
He got embarrassed, was forced to quit because he didn't have the skills to be there to begin with. The Brits despise Chris, were glad they robbed him against Groves, then you were repaid when Smith beat the hell out of Groves. You would have had an exciting match between Eubank and Smith but you got what you deserved, an ass kicking for your boy and a shitty fight on top of that. Cheating doesn't get rewarded, you'll learn.
I tell you what that announcer is damn good at what he does! Try talking for 20+ mins as much as he did to a crowd of thousands, lights everywhere, no mistakes and big energy. That's not easy to do!

Yeah that boxing rule of no holding just seems to be whenever it suits the ref on the nightđ€·đŸââïž
yeah the ref was poor mate, not even a warning for groves holding on like fuck the full 12 rounds!
You don't understand boxing if you think the best boxers don't hold or lean on their opponents, its not like they weren't working in the tie ups,
Mayweather clinches canelo clinches fury clinches, its just a tactic, you can't push your opponent in a clinch but you can tie them up until the ref splits you and Its more the agenda of the ref

Biased toward whom?
@@MrMarco855 Eubank
@@TheSteven123321bbgbg Let me ask; you're serious aren't you? I have to ask a 2nd time just to be sure. The entire British boxing community including the fans, the referees the judges and the commentators absolutely hate Eubank. They simply lie during his fights and criticize his every move. Listen to their 'unofficial' scoring during his fights. Either Brits hate Eubank just because or maybe these biased commentators have influenced you.
Take an honest, unbiased look at this fight. Groves didn't do a damn thing. He won because everyone involved made certain that he won. The outcome had nothing to do with the fight itself. You all cheated yourself because Eubank vs Callum Smith would have been a classic in Brit boxing history. They're in their prime years, both strong and hungry. Smith is big and he can fight and Eubank comes to leave it in the ring.
Did a single fight fan in Britain enjoy Smith beating the shit out of Groves? There was no fight, Groves was overmatched and looked like the same used up fighter that he was when Eubank beat him in this fight. The 2 best are suppose to advance to the finals where they put on a hell of a fight for the fans, but you didn't get that. You got tired old George looking like a wash woman getting drubbed by a fresh fighter. You guys are proud of dragging tired old George along, he had no business in the finals, Eubank is the lion.
For whatever reason you guys despise Eubank, you belittle his boxing style as if he's a bum. He's within 2 robberies of being undefeated. He was landing hard shots to the head,......... Groves could only counter but not effectively. George was surviving on bias alone, he did shit in the fight, less then shit against Callum. Ever heard of Henry Armstrong? Everyone has him 3rd all-time, or top 5 certainly. He couldn't box, he came in arms flailing like a windmill and he never stopped. He kicked a lot of asses and nobody minded what style he used to get it done.
Watch the replay Eubank vs Nick Blackwell. Sorry for the tragic ending, but pay attention to the commentators. Ritchie Woodall should be ashamed of himself. After the 6th round, Woodall had it 3-2-1 for Eubank, nearly an even fight. The truth is that Nick hadn't landed a damn punch the entire 6 rounds, save for a few decent jabs. Eubanks was dominating him, it was hard to watch.
After the 6th round in that fight, tell me that 3-2-1 is not absurd and bordering on criminal. After the fight was over, Woodall was reviewing. At one point he said this; let's face it, Nick was always in the fight. He was never in the fight, and that's the plain truth. Nick was a tough kid but he had no business in the ring with Eubank. Like it or not Eubank is top shelf. Nick was 2 levels beneath Chris.
The only man I know of that might beat Canelo is Chris Eubank. He has all the ingredients. 32 fights, ever seen Eubank hurt in the least? Saunders didn't put a scratch on Chris, neither did George. Eubank has the power to knock Canelo out, he's fast with his hands and moves well. He's going to fight balls out, If Canelo isn't as sharp as he can be, and even if he is, Eubank has a real shot to beat him. Chris can take his hard shots as well, and he'll be sending some back.
Eubank is the only one that put O'Sullivan on his back. He won every round against Abraham, beat the shit out of De gale, dropping him twice. He nearly decapitated Yildirim. He's never been down, never seriously hurt. Nobody has given him much of a fight; BJS was gifted his decision and Eubank was dusting him off late while Saunders ran for his life. Groves didn't beat him either. You guys don't like Eubank but he's #1 rated over there, #6 in the world and I think he beats Canelo.
Canelo has never had a man come to him, he's always chasing, save for GGG during much of their fights. GGG has slow hands, no footwork and Eubank would be crawling all over Canelo. I'm not a big gambler but I really hope they fight. Canelo will be 3-1 or 4- 1 I'm guessing, a very lively bet on Eubank.
