Mr Joe has made an in depth analysis of the deficiencies and shortcomings of our educational system which unfortunately leads to the large scale exodus of our youngsters to foreign lands. In fact, as is correctly pointed out, education has become a money spinning " industry "and that resulted in the mushrooming of coaching centers across the country. These centers of learning bring out millions of graduates every year who are not employable as they lack the skill to undertake a particular activity. The importance of acquiring a skill is discarded while imparting formal education. It is heartening to note that the union budget has set apart a good sum to address this issue of skill development. Congrats Mr. Joe for bringing out such vital topics of paramount importance to the notice of public at large and authorities concerned.

Dear Sir, have you tried getting a young skilled, mason, plumber, or painter in Kerala? I am senior citizen beyond 60 years of age, and I find it impossible to get any. Even when I get one, their work culture is so bad that they create more work by doing a bad job. But they want high wages. I may have to add here that to become a skilled mason or plumber or painter one need not pass JEE or NEET or IAS. Worse. When I do the job by myself with my limited strength, I come under ridicule by the society because they say that I am not a suitable person to do the job because I am highly qualified! So please do not blame any government or any other external organizations for the rot that has set in. When any society becomes rich, that is how the cookie crumbles. The people will blame everybody except themselves for their debasement.

Namaskaram and thank you, Sumal Preparing for govt jobs has turned a national occupation. The light at the end of the tunnel is when all govt jobs are made contractual and those caught for bribery are sacked immediately as in private sector
If any one think 'Education' Giving Educational Service' is a Service...they are wrong...Gone are those days of 'Nalanda , Kalinga type or even Gurukula.... Its today..new gen days its a 'Business'...Like all other Business Enterprises the motive is 'Profit Making'... As long as Parents push their wards to be IAS..and other lines, that will continue.. How many other 'streams' and opportunities are available ...? When the attitude of 'Aduthathu Ambujam' change, then only a turn around is possible...especialy in Mallu Community....
Amusing rant ..i have a college going daughter who chose law ( general candidate ) and is in her 1st sem .. she passed her clat and got into wbnujs without quota etc ..she prepared for a year at home ..she studied in a decent school ..the reason for the above grammar is as follows 1.there is life beyond engineering and civils and neet ..indian parents need to know 2. People move overseas due to a) not able to get into govt colleges since high reservation quotas b) they want a high paying job with a simiar roi on money spent on education 😅 3. Degree is not important ..i have a normal bcom grad degree but in a span of 15 years rose to the top of an mnc through hard work and skillsets..got additionally qualified along the way Your point on civil students dying in a bsement is very similar to the buffoons running kerala who sat on their backsides on waynad resulting in 300 plus deaths .. Point i am making is indian college passouts nowadays ..are lazy ..want 6 figures with shortcuts dont want to put hard time and labour
The esteem and privileges and the potential to make money off the books by being a govt civil servant is quite an attraction. Job security is an icing on top. Your MNC career requires you to continuously upskill. Better to try one's luck in the basement for two or three years than to be a victim of corporate restructuring in one's 50s.
