As someone who uses CC, I reaaaallyy hope they put the eyelashes in an entirely new category - lashes love to conflict with everything, so that way we can use our favorite lashes without texture issues!

I love using CC most of my CC are CAS traits and Hair and shoes so I've been wondering the same thing will I be able to make a dating profile for a sims only using CC
They'd have to do more than make a category to make there not be texture issues. The way that CAS works in ts4 basically means there's a limited number of 'layers' that textures can be on, and they aren't consistent about what goes on what layer. So as long as two items you're using use the same texture layer, there will be texture conflicts. Hopefully they pick a texture layer that doesn't already have a bunch of stuff.
@@nerdygeekgamer5528 I think the CC restriction is only for if Sims shared to the Gallery can show up. Though since some of the turn ons and turn offs were mentioned to include the clothing styles, if a creator has something labeled as a lot of different styles you might have more Sims turned off by those clothes (the styles are only for clothes not hair or makeup so I don't think that would be an issue)
I do kind of hate that monogamy is still hopelessly broken. It really seems like since they can't fix it they're leaning in to polyamory which is something I just don't want running uncontrolled in my game. I already have too many townies with ridiculously messy genealogy.

I may be wrong, but it looks like they're doing a major overhaul of body textures - the mega buff guy at the gym, the lady with backrolls, the eyelashes? Quite interesting
I'm guessing they're programmed like frogs? The case looks kind of like the frog one. Though it also could by found by fishing since they are mainly aquatic or maybe it's in a specific place in the world like the fountain

everybody's worried because of the date planning because it reminds them of wedding stories, but i'm gonna add a little optimism and point out that it's also the same as the season's holiday feature.. fingers crossed
yeah i also think wedding stories event planning struggles because it’s hard for the ai to manage so many non-player sims. whereas here it’s only one other non player sim ( at last usually). so hopefully this will go smoother!
The planned dating UI also looks like how you plan Holidays in Seasons and select traditions like eat a grand meal, watch sports TV, etc. The Holiday events seem to work well so let's hope the plan dates is more like Holidays and less like Weddings.
The stuff that doesn't work well on weddings isn't necessarily the list of things to do but the autonomous behavior surrounding them: Sims not coming and sitting for the event, difficulty getting the cake to the venue and sometimes in NPCs eat it before you're ready, etc. So just having some goals for the date set through a similar looking menu isn't really freaking me out.
Yeah- also the main problem with the wedding events is they didn't really matter and they didn't mean much. With the holidays, Sims with different traits will prefer different activities. Since the date can end early- hopefully that's not entirely random and is based on satisfaction/happiness and I wonder how that's going to be tracked. I don't care as much about getting a reward object as honestly getting a $200 simoleon object every time you went on a date was a little weird. It's not like a wedding where the gifts are a big part of the tradition. I don't go on dates to be given objects, whatever incels think

yeah, i found her reaction odd because the issue with the Wedding Stories system had nothing to do with the activity selection, it was the activities themselves being buggy. woohooing and talking isn't (comparatively)
Yess I saw it too and thought it was adorable! Especially since it's sort of subtle compared to some of the other artistic hairstyles like the paw print one from Cats & Dogs
I think you can put a coin in the fountain in that pack but you can make a wish with the wishing well. So it's interesting that this item might be able to do both
@@Oqhixiism I think that's exactly why it's a pack. Children are usually not the ones buying a pack, their parents are. So they can gatekeep what kind of sims their children are allowed to play. If this pack is a boundry, the kids wouldn't get it. That way, simmers that are older still have the opportunity to build more.. mature.. relationships. That's my take on it :)
I hope romantic decay will be better because its really hard to play a story where a romance goes sour without making your Sim become willfully malicious for not reason.
I feel like my sims romance bar never goes down even if I have them ignore each other for WEEKS. I never have drama in my gameplay unless I specifically engineer it myself :/

Especially it being a lifetime thing. It often feels like when you get married it's just too easy to barely interact with your spouse and it's fine. Or have a "boyfriend" you never see. I really want to know more about how it works, bc balancing being too easy and never showing up and making it ridiculously tedious would be a delicate art. For example, how the high school years clubs are just ridiculously hard to get through and do anything else in your teen years. Too easy would maybe be the babies before the infants update, how you could just leave your baby upstairs and only come up every 4 hours or so to feed them and then go back to whatever you were doing
then why play a LIFE sim. if you don't want one-sided relationships then keep it up on both sides. just because there's more options doesn't mean you have to take any of them

I hope they add divorce to neighborhood stories if the need to keep a relationship alive is a key aspect of this pack. Would make base game a lot more interesting and full of drama. Ties into the game pack too.
I like that they mention the narrator sim on this one is only in to "friend dates". Since being romantic and woohoo are things you can choose not to select that means there's something in this pack for people who are aromantic and/or asexual. You can literally just go on platonic bro dates! That'll be better for small groups of 2-3 friends or siblings than using a club gathering to hang out since clubs don't encourage members to hang out TOGETHER just that they are on the same lot and prioritizing certain activities. Imagine arranging a hang out day for two siblings to go get drinks together or for a father and daughter dinner! 6:07 BTW does that look like an axolotl tattoo on her back or is it just me? The bits poking out from her hair look like the pink fins around the face. Considering the axolotl in a tank at 3:42, the axolotl statue at 4:32, and advertisement at 7:16 I'm thinking the axolotl is the mascot for the dating app?
What's funny about that to me is that axolotls were a big meme for asexuality! Seems like the "romantically reserved" trait is kind of a flavor of demisexual/romantic though, based on how the trailer talked about it.
I really like the date customization features to make your sims' romantic interactions more personalized. My HOPE is that because it will be between fewer sims there will be fewer glitches with routing and getting all the sims to participate. Obviously they're adding polyamory so your dates may include more than two sims, but 2+ sims is still less than a wedding. I definitely share Simsie's fears with such similar UI, but I think these types of interactions will probably work way better with fewer sims doing less procedural activities than a wedding
Yeah and you're probably not going to have a date going with more than the 'group' feature allows so you can always use that to get people to the same place and that works great. And I really don't think there will be any romantic interactions involving more than 2 Sims, they're going a little risque but nowhere near that far
What I wish The Sims would implement, also for Growing together, that the relationshipsdynamics can change. Maybe as kids you are jokesters, but as adults it's more strict. Here the relationship is first estranged and then it gets better.
If you can bring extra sims on dates, I really hope we get the ability to kick people out of conversations. It's so annoying to be on a date but it's awkward because strangers just sit down and start talking to you!
I always just cancel out the social interaction and start a new conversation. It works a lot of the time, but I do hope they add an option to kick out!
I've seen people say that the basket in For Rent kind of sounds like the Sims team is hinting at snakes and I'm actually really hopeful that they do bring in snakes to Sims 4 so I can let Liberty Lee have her MySims-self's interests.

I believe that perhaps the dating system works more like the seasons holiday system where you put in what is supposed to happen for it to be a successful holiday, this system works better than the wedding system
Eyelashes being changed is gonna be so good for me. I use a mod and my sims can't wear rings cause for some reason the texture from them glitches onto the lashes but only if its the skin detail version and not the glasses version. So my sims can't have lashes with glasses and a ring.
I'm still underwhelmed by the supposed "gameplay" in this expansion pack and I'm not entirely convinced this couldn't have been a game pack... but the CAS content is fantastic, the build/buy content looks so fun and is something much different from what we usually get and the world looks good.
that's what im feeling. I really like the concept and the gameplay/cas they showed off, but I can't see it being worth a whole expansion. Maybe there will be more when the pack comes out, just have to wait and see.
@@CreoTanWorld size (number of lots), amount of new CAS and Build/Buy items, usually a broader theme rather than a niche theme that not everyone wants - the holiday locations and most of the occults are in Game Packs while the Expansions are things most people are likely to want - Seasons, pets, and so on. There are confusing ones - mainly Island Living should probably have been a Game Pack like the rest of the occults, for instance, but its a reasonable gauge.
The only feature i'm very excited about and surprised nobody is mentioning, is that is seems like they're gonna revise the whole romance and dating system in the sims 4! So sims won't be attracted to everyone now, they'll have types and turn off's and increasing the love meter will be harder or smoother depending on the compatibility. I really like that since i always felt like it's too easy have your sims find love. They also gave us another sneak peak on how sims might potentially loose feelings if you don't make them pay attention to one another. I'm really excited for this and i hope i'm right about this😭
For PC players who use mods we can already get that for free though, so I can understand why console players might be excited, but it doesn’t feel like it’s adding much for people who already use mods.

I use those too but for me they definitely aren't reliable and it would be so much different if it was an actual game feature. I have an attractiveness mod in my game but it's still as easy to gain romance no matter what sim it is with. I have a feeling you didn't read my comment at all and what makes you think i'm a console player? I'm just excited for these new features because i hate relying on mods who break my game from time to time, it's definitely adding a lot to the game.

Obviously having features built into the game should be more reliable than mods (though a lot of mods exist purely to fix EA’s bugs!), but it just doesn’t feel like enough gameplay for the price tag. Maybe that's why when sims invited you on a date and then leave a few seconds after arriving is because the sims team was working on the autonomous leaving dates.

12:50 you can see rooftop areas on two of the other apartments. They also look different than the others so I’m assuming there’s at least 3 apartment buildings- penthouse and 2 others. I’m just hoping the roof is accessible to all apartment rather than just 1 having it. Also really hoping there’s neighborhoods with normal lots because we haven’t seen them yet
Im mostly excited about another city world TBH. Hoping it's like the city living one in terms of density. I play there the most just because it's the most active in terms of sims walking by. Every other world (except maybe Windenburg's "downtown") is just too spread out for my tastes.
I noticed stretch marks on some Sims and I really love that. I’m 16 with stretch marks on my thighs and seeing it on other people or even just sims makes me less self-conscious.
I like them adding that you have to maintain your relationship even after you're together/married. Right now I can go for weeks without saying a word to my partner and their relationship will still be at 100. Having to continue to work on the relationship makes it more realistic and gives an incentive to do romantic things with your partner, even after you're committed/married.
I think the date activities seem more like holiday activities than wedding ones. Like when you pick holiday activities and you just check them off as you do them. Hopefully, that is...

In the first trailer, they showed a gift shop kiosk, that sold flowers and chocolates. The little sign out front showed something else I couldn't make out. Maybe it was plushies. That would make sense. I would like that, as I'm always looking for some to decorate kids' bedrooms, and can't figure out why there aren't more in the game.

The axolotols make me wonder if the new world will look like parts of Mexico and Central America, that’s where axolotles are naturally found. Which would be a nice change of pace
For the eyelash thing, the Sim is 100% wearing highlighter, eyeshadow, and lipstick, so the eyelashes are either going to be attached to a specific eyeshadow (really hope that's not the case) or they're going to make facepaint stackable? Or maybe it's in the blush category cause I couldn't tell if they were wearing blush or not, but I doubt they'd put eyelashes in with blush EDIT: The sim also has on nail polish, so it's def not going to be in that category. Maybe it's an eyeliner with eyelashes attached, though?
Someone mentioned it might be attached to a new eye preset, like how the current eyelashes are. I’m hoping it’s a whole new category so I can have better luck with my CC eyelashes😅
I think the only other real option would be overhauling all in game presets on eyes... but I am hoping for a new category. I personally hate skin detail lashes since I want my sims to look they they only wear mascara with certain outfits. A new dedicated category I think would be best (and I can't see it being attached to eyeliner or something as some CC is, since that would be flat. There's no real mesh, I don't think?).
As for double dating: in the scene where the Sim gets turned off by the glutinous trait you can see 4 plates on the table, like that was a double date. I'm so excited!!
Alright Kayla, time to initiate my bi-annual sims phase. Me + four hour lil simsie streams + chaotic expansion pack release = the most hilariously exhausting and silly 3 weeks of my life.
I really liked, in Sims 3, that they became attracted to other sims at "random", so I didn't inject my own biases and attraction into the selection of partners. So hopefully the Sim 4 attraction system works similarly
I CANNOT wait to see all this new stuff integrated into the Bell family. Imagine Fae and Spider getting matching snake rings, or Cae getting the tattoo with all the exes crossed off! 🤣

I got a more Seasons creating a holiday vibe with planning the date, I feel like almost all the things that we saw you be able to pick were things that are already super solid activities interactions and things that are things that are required for dates/other events/holidays(sometimes custom ones but still). I mean we'll see, but I'm hoping that my astronomy date is only as frustrating as trying to get everyone to stop being bored of other sims opening their presents while waiting their turn to open theirs and wandering off on winterfest!
This might be the first pack I buy at full price. The gameplay? Intriguing. The world/culture? Something I love and am studying right now. The SNAKES? Something else i love and am studying right now!

@@Oqhixiism I think that's exactly why it's a pack. Children are usually not the ones buying a pack, their parents are. So they can gatekeep what kind of sims their children are allowed to play. If this pack is a boundry, the kids wouldn't get it. That way, simmers that are older still have the opportunity to build more.. mature.. relationships. That's my take on it :)
I hope romantic decay will be better because its really hard to play a story where a romance goes sour without making your Sim become willfully malicious for not reason.
I feel like my sims romance bar never goes down even if I have them ignore each other for WEEKS. I never have drama in my gameplay unless I specifically engineer it myself :/

Why am I the only one being so hype about the uneven relationship satisfaction.
Especially it being a lifetime thing. It often feels like when you get married it's just too easy to barely interact with your spouse and it's fine. Or have a "boyfriend" you never see. I really want to know more about how it works, bc balancing being too easy and never showing up and making it ridiculously tedious would be a delicate art. For example, how the high school years clubs are just ridiculously hard to get through and do anything else in your teen years. Too easy would maybe be the babies before the infants update, how you could just leave your baby upstairs and only come up every 4 hours or so to feed them and then go back to whatever you were doing

I hope they add divorce to neighborhood stories if the need to keep a relationship alive is a key aspect of this pack. Would make base game a lot more interesting and full of drama. Ties into the game pack too.
I like that they mention the narrator sim on this one is only in to "friend dates". Since being romantic and woohoo are things you can choose not to select that means there's something in this pack for people who are aromantic and/or asexual. You can literally just go on platonic bro dates! That'll be better for small groups of 2-3 friends or siblings than using a club gathering to hang out since clubs don't encourage members to hang out TOGETHER just that they are on the same lot and prioritizing certain activities. Imagine arranging a hang out day for two siblings to go get drinks together or for a father and daughter dinner!

I really like the date customization features to make your sims' romantic interactions more personalized. My HOPE is that because it will be between fewer sims there will be fewer glitches with routing and getting all the sims to participate. Obviously they're adding polyamory so your dates may include more than two sims, but 2+ sims is still less than a wedding. I definitely share Simsie's fears with such similar UI, but I think these types of interactions will probably work way better with fewer sims doing less procedural activities than a wedding
Also they recently hired a new team to fix the game, so maybe they'll take the pack update as an opportunity to fix MWS if it's similar 🤷🏼♀️
Yeah and you're probably not going to have a date going with more than the 'group' feature allows so you can always use that to get people to the same place and that works great. And I really don't think there will be any romantic interactions involving more than 2 Sims, they're going a little risque but nowhere near that far

Eyelashes being changed is gonna be so good for me. I use a mod and my sims can't wear rings cause for some reason the texture from them glitches onto the lashes but only if its the skin detail version and not the glasses version. So my sims can't have lashes with glasses and a ring.
I'm still underwhelmed by the supposed "gameplay" in this expansion pack and I'm not entirely convinced this couldn't have been a game pack... but the CAS content is fantastic, the build/buy content looks so fun and is something much different from what we usually get and the world looks good.
that's what im feeling. I really like the concept and the gameplay/cas they showed off, but I can't see it being worth a whole expansion. Maybe there will be more when the pack comes out, just have to wait and see.

@@CreoTanWorld size (number of lots), amount of new CAS and Build/Buy items, usually a broader theme rather than a niche theme that not everyone wants - the holiday locations and most of the occults are in Game Packs while the Expansions are things most people are likely to want - Seasons, pets, and so on.
There are confusing ones - mainly Island Living should probably have been a Game Pack like the rest of the occults, for instance, but its a reasonable gauge.

The only feature i'm very excited about and surprised nobody is mentioning, is that is seems like they're gonna revise the whole romance and dating system in the sims 4! So sims won't be attracted to everyone now, they'll have types and turn off's and increasing the love meter will be harder or smoother depending on the compatibility. I really like that since i always felt like it's too easy have your sims find love.
They also gave us another sneak peak on how sims might potentially loose feelings if you don't make them pay attention to one another. I'm really excited for this and i hope i'm right about this😭

I use those too but for me they definitely aren't reliable and it would be so much different if it was an actual game feature. I have an attractiveness mod in my game but it's still as easy to gain romance no matter what sim it is with. I have a feeling you didn't read my comment at all and what makes you think i'm a console player? I'm just excited for these new features because i hate relying on mods who break my game from time to time, it's definitely adding a lot to the game.

Obviously having features built into the game should be more reliable than mods (though a lot of mods exist purely to fix EA’s bugs!), but it just doesn’t feel like enough gameplay for the price tag. Maybe that's why when sims invited you on a date and then leave a few seconds after arriving is because the sims team was working on the autonomous leaving dates.
I think the "snake" wallpaper was actually crocodile or alligator. Snakes have scales and gators/crocs have the irregular rectangles.
True, but there are a lot of snake things in this, so it's easy to mistake. There's a snake painting, the ring, a shirt, etc.

12:50 you can see rooftop areas on two of the other apartments. They also look different than the others so I’m assuming there’s at least 3 apartment buildings- penthouse and 2 others. I’m just hoping the roof is accessible to all apartment rather than just 1 having it. Also really hoping there’s neighborhoods with normal lots because we haven’t seen them yet

I like them adding that you have to maintain your relationship even after you're together/married. Right now I can go for weeks without saying a word to my partner and their relationship will still be at 100. Having to continue to work on the relationship makes it more realistic and gives an incentive to do romantic things with your partner, even after you're committed/married.

For the eyelash thing, the Sim is 100% wearing highlighter, eyeshadow, and lipstick, so the eyelashes are either going to be attached to a specific eyeshadow (really hope that's not the case) or they're going to make facepaint stackable? Or maybe it's in the blush category cause I couldn't tell if they were wearing blush or not, but I doubt they'd put eyelashes in with blush
EDIT: The sim also has on nail polish, so it's def not going to be in that category. Maybe it's an eyeliner with eyelashes attached, though?

Someone mentioned it might be attached to a new eye preset, like how the current eyelashes are. I’m hoping it’s a whole new category so I can have better luck with my CC eyelashes😅
I think the only other real option would be overhauling all in game presets on eyes... but I am hoping for a new category. I personally hate skin detail lashes since I want my sims to look they they only wear mascara with certain outfits. A new dedicated category I think would be best (and I can't see it being attached to eyeliner or something as some CC is, since that would be flat. There's no real mesh, I don't think?).
As for double dating: in the scene where the Sim gets turned off by the glutinous trait you can see 4 plates on the table, like that was a double date. I'm so excited!!

I really liked, in Sims 3, that they became attracted to other sims at "random", so I didn't inject my own biases and attraction into the selection of partners. So hopefully the Sim 4 attraction system works similarly

I got a more Seasons creating a holiday vibe with planning the date, I feel like almost all the things that we saw you be able to pick were things that are already super solid activities interactions and things that are things that are required for dates/other events/holidays(sometimes custom ones but still). I mean we'll see, but I'm hoping that my astronomy date is only as frustrating as trying to get everyone to stop being bored of other sims opening their presents while waiting their turn to open theirs and wandering off on winterfest!
