I have been saying for over 2 years something was wrong with me and no doctors would listen. My new PCP did ever blood work up on the planet and everything came back normal. But in January this year my right tonsil got swollen for 4 months. ENT ignored it. My GI listened to my cries and ordered a neck ultrasound and found the nodules. I have tiny ones on my left side and had a 2.1cm on my right. Biopsy came back positive for PTC. Had the right side removed and just got pathology back that it has spread to my lymph nodes in the VI of my neck. They never tested my left side nodules. I am post op 1 week and 3 days. My surgeon was waiting til my follow up on the 17th (June) to go over what’s next. I’m going nuts!
Oh and my nodule has grown in one month, it went from 2.1 to 2.4 in just a few weeks!

I have a grape sized lump on my thyroid. Has blood tests including TSH which came back borderline, had another a month later and it’s normal. My doctor isn’t doing any other tests. Guess he’s doing a wait and watch approach. Very interesting vid, explained a lot.

Wouldn’t you pursue thyroid ultrasound (after TSH) in cold nodules prior to FNA, as not every nodule requires biopsy. Only nodules with ultrasound characteristics/size concerning for malignancy need cytologic evaluation, whereas other nodules can be monitored with USG, or in some cases don’t require further monitoring at all.

In October, I had "Strept Throat" and the doctor noticed that my thyroid was swollen, he told me to get blood tests for my Thyroid first, so i did and the tests came out normal!! 😊
However, he wanted me to get a "Ultra Sound" too, they found "3 nodules"😢. On my left lobe a 0.5 cm, then on the right lobe, they found a 1.7 cm and a 1.2 cm nodule. So the 1.7 cm nodule was a T4 and they wanted me to get FNA biopsy on it. I am suppose to get it this friday, December 8th, but i have bronchitis now. 😢
I might have to reschedule it, because of the coughing, etc..
I've been having several panic attacks over getting this procedure done.
I know they are suppose to use lidocaine to numb the area, but im still very scared.. Any advice how bad it really hurts?

I had a Fna last week. They use the ultrasound to guide the needle placement. I barely felt it and needed no numbing. It only took 20 mins from setup to completion. They use a very fine gauge needle and it was not painful at all. Best wishes to you and relax.
