  • There are a ton of options for business school, but I knew I wanted to enroll in a top 10 program to make it worthwhile. There are many great programs, but in the end I chose Berkeley Haas - here’s why

Thanks Paul for the breakdown! There's not much info online from students reflecting on their EWMBA experience so I'm glad you uploaded this.
I'm about 5 yrs into my career and have been thinking about the Haas EWMBA since I'm in the bay. Would greatly appreciate if you could give more detail on topics such as WLB, social scene/friendships, extracurricular/clubs, recruiting, differences vs FT MBA. Thxs!

what is the pro and cons comparing haas and booth?

    • @paulkim_

Both are solid programs, though I'd say that Booth is probably best for consulting or IB vs Haas for tech. Do you want to work and live near the east coast or west? Answers to those two questions should help you pick the right program

Are the synchronous classes and those residencies all mandatory? What happens if you dont show up or show up late. What happens if you miss the residencies. You dont graduate?

you definitely need a certain number of credits to graduate, which means you need to pass your classes - attendance is a small portion, the bulk of your grade comes from exams, assignments, papers, and how your teammates perceive your contributions.

@@paulkim_ What about those in person residencies. Can you skip them.

Do they offer good financial aid for the EW vs the full time

    • @paulkim_

FT definitely gets more finaid; the expectation is that if you're a part time student, you're working and can help offset the cost of tuition. You can still qualify for a small number of scholarships but most EW students either pay their way through (what I did) or take loans
