I love how you explained the mindset of getting down a base coat to have a sense of accomplishment and totally agree with painting the outer details first rather than the traditional reverse order.
Lot of lessons to learnt from this video, Maestro. -Priming is not always needed. -Don’t glue compulsively -Order matters, a lot. -Basecoat the whole army and go for the details with calm. -Put more effort and time in the most visible spots and focal points. -You can save time discharging paint for a controlled dry brush in zones you also have to paint in this color.
I was gonna say, these aren't the GW ones right? Because they lack the shield template on the horse robes thing for the herald. So they're Highland Miniatures?
I tried out a technique similar to this last week, highlighting then "glazing" with Vallejo Xpress colour thinned with medium. It didn't work exactly how I wanted. What did you use to glaze?
i use normal acrylics and water, will revisit the technique in the next video. Maybe try it out with acrylics first and see if you get it before experimenting with express, not sure if you should dilute them with medium or water for glazing and how much
That glaze technique to get back to the original tone of the red cloth is so clever, great tip my dude!
thank you!
Amazing free-hand work! Looks great
thank you
