I loved the way they used this space station in S1. From a place bustling with activity to a devoid of life reality show area. It was also cool to see how they changed the sets.
I absolutely love when the Doctor is confronted with the consequences of his actions. He's always moving on and flying across time and space, but he never stays to "fix" the problem. He just stops it from happening anymore. With the station this was a massive issue because all of a sudden there was a huge power vacuum and people were scared and confused. And he left that all on the random people that were around him when he "saved the day".
Now that they have an actual budget, would love to see this place in its heyday.
I did love how RTD re-used so many settings (Yes due to budget) but it also gave a strong cohesive feeling to the show. Especially with how it made series 1 feel more contained. I do worry with how the enxt series only having 8 or so episodes a year will mean it will struggle to do the episodic stories AND the continuous stories, characters, and settings.
I always thought the ship in the end of the world was satellite 5 as well lol
Maybe a modified version? Tho it's 5 billion years later lmao.
OH YEAH
Happiness will prevail!
I've always loved Satellite Five as a setting. Floor 500 gave me the creeps in both The Long Game and Bad Wolf.
A mega city is actually a city with more than 10 million inhabitants, where as Coruscant or other planets completely covered by a city or civilisation are called an ecumenopolis
Wow I never new the satellite 5 had such a rich and interesting history and I do like the long game it was interesting and with the contents of the finale it makes it even better
I don’t know if you’ve changed the background music in your videos, but the soundscape of this video is amazing!
I wonder what I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here was like onboard the Game Station? If you lose a Bushtucker Trial, you literally starve to death with no stars?
Who needs TARDIS wiki when we have Harbo?
I know they don't own the word, but I can't hear "megacity" without thinking of Judge Dredd
It was an enjoyable part of Season One, but I had no idea of the expanded history! Love the Captain Jack resolution.
They did a similar thing in Tom Baker's first year, with the Doctor visiting Nerva Station (I think that's what it was called) in two different time periods. Nice way to save on the cost of building sets.
The mighty Jagrafess ❤...
the satelite design seems to be reminiscent of the Chariot of God, the cosmic horror ‘angel’ which looks like wheels with eyes
I think time passes differently in the warp so 1000 years could've passed for us but only 100 for him. I hope Guillimans power is leveled up to the point where he knows exactly where to place something to get the most optimal use of that object. Like where should I place this lazgun or minefield or titan to get exactly what he needs to happen.
Yoo Suki is Patricia Carmichael from Line Of Duty! I never realised
I watched bad wolf last night just because, and I've thought for a long time now that the reason that the game shows kill people is because there's some sort of overpopulation problem. that's why it's considered such a prize to live
I did not know there was more to Satellite Five.
If the top floor is level five hundred and the bottom floor is level zero, doesn't that mean there are technically five hundred and one levels on Satellite Five?
I hope satilite 5 returns in season 1/14
i want to see you talking about "smile"
