The wake-up word for ours somehow changed to “Echo.” It was “Alexa,” but randomly changed on its own. You calling yours “echo” gave the idea to try that and it worked. We’ve changed it back to “Alexa.”

Yeah I did all this and nothing works. My echo show doesn't hear me 90% of the time I could scream at it and it doesn't hear me but my echo Dot and the other room hears me

Same! Also inconsistently doesn't respond at night. I have to turn the mic off, wait about 10 seconds, and turn it back on. It's annoying because I used to use the Echo as an alarm in the morning, but it wouldn't respond when I told it to stop, and I also had a whole morning routine set to begin when I dismissed the alarm.
I did ALL of the above and still Alexa isn’t responding to my commands. She does still announce morning and evening weather so I know there’s still sound and a speaker that’s working. Are the Microphone and Speaker two different parts to the Alexa Show 1st Generation? I will be calling Amazon support in the morning. She’s getting tired 😢 I’m guessing.
Changing the wake word fixed it for me now it's responsive. The reboot also worked but it only worked for a day before it stopped responding again. Let's see how long changing the wake word works.
Hi Buddy, the show has been working and also shows the ring door bell when pressed, but now nothing seems to work, including voice recognition. It also used to show our family pictures, which is set up,but that has stopped also. I have unplugged it, and it's still the same. Thank you
Mine probably has a defect. Originally mine wouldn't respond until I unplugged and replugged it in. I've had to do that a few times in the short 2 weeks I've had it running. Now suddenly it no longer responds. I've changed the wake word and nothing. Hopefully Amazon is quick in sending a replacement. I've also had issues with it running routines at times.
My echo wasn’t answering when I call her name and when I clicked to go to settings it didn’t work and it keep disconnecting from my internet and asking me to check if it was me
My Echo Show 5 responds to voice commands just fine, but when I select the Echo Show in the Alexa App on my Android phone and tap the camera icon, it says "microphone permission is required for this feature. please update in settings and try again". What??? What microphone settings???
I installed a new google mesh Wi-Fi. Echo show asked me to verify my account. I entered my password. They sent me a code but when I type the numbers in it doesn’t take them. I unplugged it and tried again but it just won’t take the numbers I type. HELP!!!
Have Amazon done an Apple and nerfed the older devices? Mine have got worse and worse - doesn't listen and the podcasts are a joke, worthless, hardly anything works and now I only use them for two things news and Prime music, some devices dont hear no matter how loud I shout! I regret buying into the Alexa device ecosytem :(
All the ones in my house have been getting worse over time. The touchscreens now ALL don’t work. They pick up voice badly and most annoyingly blare random music out at maximum f***king volume at random times. Why has literally every single one started going mad?
Well, considering she is handling the food she is using more than the monkey, look how many times she touched the monkey, wiped his eye, cleaned whatever he got on her pants and then put her hand in the salt container to get some out using just her fingers and in none of these actions did she have a cloth, wipe, towel, bowl of clensing water, or get up and actually go wash her hands and then she put her bare hands on the same floor that the baby monkey does! He doesnt know better, but she does

Problem we are having at our home is we have to power cycle several times a day
