Victor hits the road in the 2024 Volvo XC60 Recharge Black Edition. A new trim offered on this model, the Black Edition takes the regular XC60 Ultimate and blacks out everything. Gone are the chrome accents, bright badging, and light alloy rims. We go over the exterior changes of this vehicle over the other Volvo SUVs we've driven, and some of the technical specifications of this vehicle.
Victor jumps inside to go over the interior cargo space, rear seating features, along with the front seats to see what this Volvo has to offer. He then hits the road to see how the PHEV operates, and what sort of real-world expectations are found on this luxury SUV.

Are you sure it has fog lights? There is no space in front bumper.

The plugin hybrids don't have fog lights unfortunately.

@@jordyheemelaar6074 yes, that’s why I pointed it out. I had a mild hybrid 2022 car which had them and now I have a 2024 phev which doesn’t. They aren’t particularly useful anyway.

The current model year charges at around 7.2 kWh, not 3.6 kWh

Could be euro-spec? Volvo Canada’s press site still lists it at 3.6 kW for 2024.

@@PRNTestDrive oh, ok. Yeah, I was referring to German spec indeed. Apologies.

@alexanderberggren7914 it’s not the first time Volvo has offered newer/better tech outside of our market. We’re hoping it’ll come for next year!

A "Yellow Edition" xc-60 would be interesting. All in yellow except for black seatbelts!

These Volvos are extremly good looking but expensive and come with reliability issues.

They're more or less in line with other luxury vehicles, but we have heard of reliability issues. Several of the Volvo press cars we've had over the years had issues.
