Fly Fishing a Creek with Tons of Trout!! (NEW PB)

- In this video my buddy catches a HUGE 25 inch wild brown trout!
I don’t like warm winter weather. That may sound weird to say but from a fishing perspective it can be frustrating. It’s been a warm winter with temps hovering in the 50’s on most days. It’s almost like I’ve been robbed of an entire season. You’d think that would mean I’m catching fish like crazy, but that hasn’t been the case. For the last 3 weeks I’ve been jumping from creek to creek, river to river, and even state to state just to find some consistent fishing. And I’m not going to lie, I’ve struggled.
But finally I have something worth showing off! My buddy and I had a slow day but we caught 2 big brown trout, and then went out the following day and racked up some numbers. Although this isn't how I typically like to put videos together I still felt like those wild brown trout were worth showing off! This is winter fly fishing at it's finest.
Hope everyone enjoys the video!!

Thanks for the video John. Keep it up. I have never euro nymphed in my life, so hopefully watching you guys, helps me learn some techniques.
The admission of being a mere mortal was unexpected....
It's easy to admit it when I get humbled for a few weeks in a row.. Thanks for watching Larry!
@@hardmanfishing a tree fell on my Bronco. Body work won't be done until mid May. So I won't be at my place in Blacksburg until then. Looks like I'll be warm water fishing through spring.
You’re quite right - it has been a very unusual and unpredictable winter. But it looks like you figured it out very well for at least a couple of outings! Well done - your videos are always enjoyable!
Thank you so much!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video
@@hardmanfishing everything is cool, brother, I 'm even watching you from Russia, I had to write through a translator👍
@@user-kr2oq4rv1b - Здорово, что вы смотрите из России.
Thanks for another gem you guys always kill it I'm on the east coast too further north for sure I appreciate the content every time!
Glad you enjoy the videos!!
Beautiful fish awesome video thank you
It's been more of a normal winter in Colorado more snow than we have had last few years and cold
Was relieved when the music cut out during the fishing. Love listening to the sound of the water and enjoy your narration. Keep on flyin 😎
You guys starting fishing my favorite rainbow creek. It’s unreal the size of bows in that creek!!! It was better last year than I’ve ever seen it. Great video and fishing!! Thanks.
Man I've been fishing these creeks for a long time! I just don't make it to that area as much as I did 5 years ago. Glad you like the videos though!
@@hardmanfishing Sorry, I had a typo I guess, I didn’t mean starting to fish this creek, I know y’all are from down that way and most likely have fished that area way before I have.
I’m liking these Friday uploads, woohooo!
The fish are too confused thats awesome
Awesome video! Starting to get into the euro nymphing a little bit and these videos really help
It's so effective!!
Gorgeous Browns
Awesome video, beautiful fish, and always tight lines.
Thanks Tony!
Great video, Aaron from New Zealand.
watched the whole thing enjoyed it ! Thanks guys !
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Love that creek good video
It’s been the same here in North East PA. We got 6” of snow Monday and the Brook Trout bit fairly well Thursday.
Appreciate the vidz as always man.🙂👍 Have to admit I was wondering if you were gonna even have one since the weather lately has been nuts everywhere...and I mean EVERYWHERE. Keep em comin my friend. Peace ✌😎
Thanks for watching John!! Glad you enjoyed the video
Sweet spot! 🎣
Awesome video - beautiful fish and scenery.
can you use a fly on any rod??? and have you ever tride?
@@smothertheresa5881 depends on what kind of fly you're throwing. If you're throwing a heavy streamer then yes, but any other fly unfortunately not.
@@nathangraves659 ok
Beautiful fish 🐠 👍
Enjoyed :) Fun day of fishing... Monster Brown! :)
hey was wondering if you could teach us how to indicator nymph and what nymphs to use in certain conditions and places
Good fishing!
u rock bro. thats fishin
I've been catching some nice brown trout on dry flys this march, had some nice days.
Jon, those were a couple of monster browns. Short episode, but very good as usual.
Been cold out west. Ready for spring!!!
That's what I've heard!! Should be an awesome summer for y'all though!
I caught some heifers this winter but all in all it’s been a very slow winter for me, northwest CT
Hey dude, love the videos. Wondering what kind of rod your using and what wt? I see you got the hydros reel
love your video's
Glad you enjoy the videos!
What setup are you using? It looks really good. Also nice video! Loved it!!
What beautiful fish! But fishing can prove to be confusing at times.
Couldn't agree more! But that's why we like it I guess
Super 👍👍👍
I thought you put together another great video. Plus you both caught some real ones, nice fish.
Thanks man!!
Great video! It’s cold up here in upstate ny, 35 degrees at the warmest, but I recently caught my pb brown of 25” on my home town river, I noticed that colder fish really like size 20 nymphs, anyways love your content!
Congrats on the brown! Gotta love catching em big like that
That's an awesome fish!! Glad you enjoy the content
🔥🔥🔥🔥
It seems to me the smaller the fish the bigger your southern accent… “thats a big’un”
Thanks for the laugh and the great fishing… too cold out west, a few casts then the guides freeze and you might as well have a cane pole
I find that my southern accent comes out when I get goofy, but thanks for watching! Andrew has been struggling out west with all of the cold weather, just finding some good open water without a ton of people has been interesting.
Nice
Are you using Dryft convertible SEEKR waders? If so, how do you like em?
You need to come fish idaho man tones of crazy creeks to fish
Thats exactly the feeling I've been getting in North GA, the fish are confused, zero consistency which fly they take on the days I do manage to catch some
your gear is cool😉
What weight is your maine line? It looks super light
I've definitely snagged my lower fly and had a fish hit the dropper as I was bouncing the rig trying to get it free.
That is the biggest fish I have ever seen!
Nice..
I see you use an actual euro line. I use a mono rig. Is there any benefit to the actual euro specific line or is it all preference? Great video by the way 🔥
Ehh not really. I actually normally use a mono rig but I'm waiting for a new rod and line to come in.
What’s your fly set up bud, Nymphing with no indicator?
Yep, it’s a euro rig
is this West Va ?
I was feeling a bit sorry for your buddy until you played the clip of the 25" brown. He earned a slow day after that catch! LOL!
I agree!! it was a heck of a brown!
Can you show how you set up your leader
That fish dislodged your snag or what? Lol
Don you tie your own flies?
what kind of net do you use??
Catch Cam Nets!!
Could you explain the rig ur using? Nymph?
It’s in the video
❤🤝🔔
What type of fly line do you use?
Cortland!
@@hardmanfishing What size do you use for your renegade rod?
im a real one!
Haha, I keep getting really confused because your waders look like blue jeans on my screen!
I know!! I've seen several comments from people telling me "If you didn't wear blue jeans you'd be more comfortable" LOL
I don't agree with the "if I always went out and caught a big fish it wouldn't be any fun comment" . I'm pretty sure it would still be fun
I mean it would be fun for a while but it would get boring!!
I don’t even think you had to put a video like this together the day were you caught 4 fish and 2 of them were giant browns, you should have showed us the whole day even if there was not a lot of fish action !!
I agree... if I had been recording for the big brown catches I probably would've tried to put something together from that day as well!
All the trash in the brush around the streams/creeks always makes me sad.
You and me both..
Man there’s nothing that bothers me like someone calling out measurements without packing a measuring tape. Especially while you’re still fighting the fish… “OMG ITS A 20”. Before you say it. Measure 👏 the👏 fish👏
Sorry next time I won't say anything while fighting the fish!! Have to make sure everyone's happy!!
so much garbage :*(
Can you tell me your line setup? Great vid mate.
Good for that size of water?? If only you knew lol
Rooks......
