Criss Angel Directs SMASH HIT "We're Not Gonna Take It" with Dee Snider ACOUSTIC VERSION Please #HELP save a child's life by going to: CrissAngelHELP.com #MakeADifference
Sometimes, we all need to be reminded of how lucky we are. I can't imagine how I'd feel if my kid was in that position, and I thank God that I can't. It's too much for any person.
1984 performance: Comic stance against an overcontrolling Father. 2016 performance: Emotional and powerful cry against childhood Cancer. Crazy how the same words can hold a heavy weight the 2nd time around.
This version of the song got me through my mother's battle with cancer, which she ultimately lost in Oct 2018. Tonight is the 1st time Ive listened to it in 5 yrs. Thanks Dee.
In 1984, it was a song about rebelling against authority. In 2016, it became a song about rebelling against childhood cancer..................................
He was hardcore in the 80’s and 90’s . . . And this is just another level! No flashy lights, no dramatic solo, just singing the song to the world’s greatest enemy, Cancer. Dee is fearless!
This to me is proof that people can say 'shouty music is bad'... and have no idea, that the artist is still.. a musician. Dee nails everything he sings.
I love that version of the song, Dee's voice is so full of emotion and powerful. But the video never fails to make me cry. It's even worse when you're a dad! My heart goes out to anyone who had to fight that horrible disease or suffer the loss of a close one to it. As another metal legend said: "You've got the power. Stand up and shout." Stay strong.
Heard this song 6 years ago when it came out and it made me tear up. Six years later my son 7yr old son was diagnosed with Stage 4 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. We've been fighting for almost a year and he has never given up once. Refused to shave his head until he was ready, and he ended up shaving my head. Life will never be as it was, but my faith and relationship with my wife and all my kids are stronger than ever. Every day is a fight and a blessing. Dad's fight for your kids and wife. Don't neglect them, don't cop out, and don't make excuses. Be a man. Moms stay strong.
My son is a cancer survivor. God bless you Dee for bringing more awareness to childhood cancer. Still only 4 percent of all funding goes to childhood cancer research. My son was 9 and is now 22. Please donate it help save our children.
As someone who is in remission from cancer for me being in the cancer ward every day for almost 2 years for chemo and radiation the saddest part of going in to recieve treatment was looking and talking to the children who were there because of cancer and their treatments, I had to try and hold back my tears in front of these brave little children every time I saw them. Now I'm 6'5 and 260lbs. and used to be a street fighter. I don't think there is anything worse then going to the hospital and finding out that one of these children who i would talk to has passed away from this illness. I would of graciously given my life to any of these great brave little children. I broke down crying the first time this happened. God saved me from this illness so far and we need to contribute so much more to these children so they have the God given right to live their lives. Thank you Dee for standing up for these beautiful little children.
I salute you Mr. Dee Schneider for your beautiful song and your mission to bring awareness to the pediatric cancer patients, their families and the community. I also am grateful for your commitment to the late Harry Chapin’s charitable organization in helping to Feed the hungry in Long Island. You’re an amazing and generous and gifted musician. Thank you to your pianist and crew too.
I'm a cancer serviver .doctors gave me 6 months to live after the operation and well its almost 15 years now. Let's all stand up and fight this together. Dee Snider thanks. It's this song that got me thought.
Thankfully, there will be no more disease and suffering at the resurrection at the end of the age. Eternal life awaits those who trust the sacrifice of Jesus. The fires of hell won't destroy those who hold to Jesus finished sacrifice. Death, evil and all bad things will be burned up by God's holy fire in Gehenna(hell). This is good news.
So much emotion. I lost it when the clippers came in for the first cut. Dee Snider has my eternal respect. As does the mother who has her head shaved so her child will not feel alone. It's a powerful message.
@JohnBelz Is not about shaving heads you fuck head, its about the meaning of people fighiting against Cancer and many others diseases and if you dont like this GTFO.
I grew up on Long Island New york in the 80s seeing bands like Twisted Sister, Zebra in the smallest venues. It is so great to see these bands still doing it 40 years later. Beautiful rendition of the song for a great cause.
Dee Snider, man you made me cry, I remembered my father from the fights we went through, unfortunately he was defeated, but "We're Not Gonna Take It" Congratulations beautiful message!!!!!!

First, Dee has kept himself in great shape! Second, I never knew he had pipes! Not like this at least. Third, what a performance! Tears are running down my face. How can anyone vote this down?
I don’t think people realize what a powerful figure Dee Schneider is! He’s literally taken on Congress and childhood cancer! He is the hero we never knew he was going to be
I understood this song the first time I heard it. Not that long ago to be honest. But this version, and the raw emotion in his voice is beautiful. I found this on the end of a podcast a few weeks ago. I can't even remember what the podcast was, but I don't think I'll forget this so quickly.
Wow this is beautiful. I was terminally ill as a child and i live with disabilities after many operations to save my life and in the end it was one big close call. I met and made friends with people who had cancer and other life threatening conditions we used to play this song and other cool tunes in our room in hospital together we sort of formed a friendship group over our conditions. Although not all of them are still with us sadly we have thrown a party every time one of us has been cleared of our illness this means a lot for me to see thank you Dee. And the good news is i got a phone call last week and there's another party coming up.
The amount of respect I have for both Dee and Criss is beyond words. This is both beautiful and powerful and brought tears to my eyes. Great song made even better by a slight change in the message.
my daughter died from brain cancer 3yrs ago today the week before her 2nd birthday the original song and music video was one of my favorites growing up in an abusive family it validated me so discovering this version just now after the what i've been through feels destined and gives it a whole new meaning so yeah gonna go cry for eternity
I'm so sorry for your loss... I don't know you nor what you believe in but I'm sure your daughter put this video on your path to show you she's still there with you everyday even if it's not in the same way as she was before❤️🩹Just know that she's always by your side and I hope you somehow felt a litlte bit of comfort reading my comment❤️🩹
This is a GREAT version of the song. My mom and I loved this song 'well the original version anyway". She just passed away at the end of "Sep" and she never got to hear this version but she would have loved it if she did! Hearing we're not going to take it like this really puts a whole new meaning and fell on it since she passed away. It's an incredibly deep powerful spiritual vibe that I get from it now and it was never that way when she was alive.
I remember hanging out with my friends and singing along 30 yrs ago. The song was ahead of its time - either that or we never changed and took everything at face value like suckers.
When I first heard this I was so moved. then when I seen the video I was taken back. My heart goes out to all who have been effected by such tragedy. I agree that we must do something we need to be more diligent when spending time with family. A hug, a hour a week maybe a day month spend with a close one. The heart cleanses the soul. True Love will never grow old.
This song, is more than wonderful everytime i hear it, rock, piano, marriachi, or whatever. DEE, I'm from France, and you will always amaze me. Keep the Faith.
I found this by accident during an evening of nostalgia. I wanted to share the music of my youth with my daughter. Twisted Sister helped me survive an abusive childhood. The confidence this song inspired stuck with me through my daughters health issues even if the actual song was a distant memory. Nothing hurts worse than watching strangers carry your child away while hoping desperately they can return her in better health. The helplessness is soul crushing. If only we could trade places, if only there was a god who could shift the punishment to me, I earned it, and spare my innocent child... If only, if only... I had to watch this video three times before I could make it to the end. I'm lucky, my child survived and thrived. I agonize with those who weren't so lucky. Thank you Dee Snider and Criss Angel for reminding us lucky ones we are lucky, for giving a voice to those in too much pain to speak. Please, if you can, donate. Time. Money. Sympathy. A hug. Any help is appreciated more than you can imagine.
😢 When I heard this again. And I've heard this song many times this time I cried. Not only for the children that need help. But our country has a cancer. That is. Destroying it currently. And unless we do something about it.....😢 What hope is there for the children of tomorrow?😢
My 10 year old daughter was fighting for her life during diabetic ketoacidosis. Her father and I sang to her softly this, her favorite song in 2016. She survived. As my sister, my father, my mother, and myself held vigil overnight, we spoke to her. We held her hands. The nurses never left her proximity. My sweet first born child never went into a coma. Her brain did not swell. The next day the hospital's leading endocrinologist diagnosed her with Type 1 Diabetes. Thereafter, she required 24/7 supervision of her blood sugar, glycogen, and more. The ER clinic and the Kangaroo Crew and Texas Children's Hospital is FULL of HEROES. The firefighters, specialized nurses, Emergency Medicine, Pediatricians, and Endocrinologists SAVED HER LIFE. The diligent nurse's assistants, dish washers, cafeteria cashiers and the janitors greeted us with smiles EVERY DAY we were at that hospital. HEROES. EVERY ONE OF THEM. Today, she is in college, studying animal science in preparation for a veterinary career. FORTITUDE. "We're not going to take it anymore!"
It's the same right hand two finger chord for both songs. For the left hand fingerings Journey's follows Ross Valory's famous bass line while this song does something different on the lower keys with its left hand.
I was walking and playing classic rock music on I phone and this song came on and literally did something, it motivated me to fight for things I believe in that are a just cause . Sometimes you have to stand up against injustice .
Stay Hungry was the very first Rock Album that I owned at 12 years of age. This version of that song and especially the video brought me to tears. Your not a human being if it doesn't choke you up! May Jesus Christ heal all those who suffer from cancer......AMEN!! Awesome work Dee!
My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer it was tough i felt helpless to help her this song helped me stay strong for her. She lost her battle with cancer on Dec 5 2009 .love u girl i still miss her 😔❤🙏 thank u Dee ❤
I'm crying like a baby, I've never saw this clip before .... thanks for this song both of you!! I send strenght to whom are fighting the battles or who are standing still, and send peace to we've fought it. (Sorry for my broken english) Don't give up, life is just ups and downs, but it's beautifull... I tell it to you, nail itwith all your strenght even when you fell you are loosing.
if you had told me 40 years ago that "we're not gonna taker it" is gonna start rippin tears outa me I'd have called you insane, yet here we are...
Best comment at all
Imagine if he had done this still wearing the original outfit from the music video. Ha would of made me cry anyways lol

Don’t fuck with Dee. I’m 57 yrs old as he’s been sticking up for me since high school.❤️
I'm 10 years old and I have no problem fighting with anyone
1984 performance: Comic stance against an overcontrolling Father.
2016 performance: Emotional and powerful cry against childhood Cancer.
Crazy how the same words can hold a heavy weight the 2nd time around.
i never realized how timeless this song really is.
This song will never die. This song is endless.
Thank you Dee Snider.
it just makes you feel good inside
That song is about good vs evil in a deeper way... I love it because it gives me faith, it's like if I see Jesus trough this song

This version of the song got me through my mother's battle with cancer, which she ultimately lost in Oct 2018. Tonight is the 1st time Ive listened to it in 5 yrs. Thanks Dee.

So sorry for your loss. 🙏
I am so sorry. I’ve lost loved ones to cancer.
Im sorry for your loss, respect to you and your family bro

Dee Snider's a metal legend. Love this version of a metal classic
Truly a gem

Dee is fearless!
Jesus is on His side when He's singing about Children and their fight against cancer. Powerful.
He used to be fearless and on another level, now they sold out to commercials and to mainstream. Weak at best now. All he prays for is more money
And That Domestic Enemy Donald John Trump.
This to me is proof that people can say 'shouty music is bad'... and have no idea, that the artist is still.. a musician. Dee nails everything he sings.

Dee Snider took his own legendary 80s rock anthem and made it even more epic.
Clive Palmer took it and turned it into garbage 🗑
