I purchased a Buck Vantage Comp a couple years ago that also had issues like yours. Took them over a month to service it and get sent back. Play was gone but still the blade was off center. You could tighten the pivot to center the blade, but then it wouldn't flip smoothly. Buck told me an off center blade was not a warranty issue as long as it doesn't rub the liner so there you go.
My first was crap the second is excellent, I commend Buck for its customer service.and made in the USA...
I believe the knife centering may be caused by the type of locking mechanism. The amount of pressure would off set it to a noticeable amount. I can say this is one of the 2 knives i carry daily. I have a nice Gerber that i got a few years back and have not gone a day wearing a belt without it.
yeh the tensions could cause centering issues, but mine was all the way over and thats awesome when you find a nice reliable blade you can depend on.
I don't have up and down blade play, but my lock is touching the right side. there's some videos on this knife having major issues with centering and that same lock problem.
yeh it a shame because i do like the design.. maybe newer versions are better..
wish they make it some day whit a flath grind
