People compare because we wanna see if Kobe would hang with Jordan or better. Now Ed killed Ne-Yo because Ed put his soul and essence on the track everytime. Ed did a accapella with guitar to the song and did better than the original.
everytime an artist does a cover, people try to turn it into a competition. realize that the artist is covering the song because they like it and respect the original artist, not because they're trying to outdo them or prove who's better. you can have your opinion but no need to treat it as a definitive statement. I really enjoy listening to covers, this one included, however I usually have an affinity to the artist who wrote the song because the core of the song came from them, no matter who's singing it. but that's just my opinion. have your own. but know that your opinion ain't fact and these artists respect eachother so stop being shitty.
Sometimes artists try to make songs their own when they cover them ...other times they just simply play homage to the orginal. ..this one is just a beautiful example of it.. love it! It just reminds us of how beautiful this song is and using ed sheeran's tone....OMG!
This somewhat fulfills what I thought when I heard this song originally. Ed should get a whole bunch of R&B singers to do a live performance of it with him because the song is like old school soul music
